The Cubs are buying themselves a team!

It worked for the Mets, now the Cubbies are buying themselves a team. There's hope for 2008 yet! They landed Alfonso Soriano-I've heard of him so I'm guessing he's really good. It's making me excited for the baseball season even though it's quite a ways away. My friend Erin and I did decide we're doing Cubs spring training again in March. Anyone wanna go to Arizona with us? It's some good times, I promise!

So, I actually got some sleep last night, but still need some more. I don't really remember my drive to work this morning, I DO remember some a-hole riding my bumper on Hwy 70 when I was already going 75 (the speed limit is 60, I think), so, being the a-hole that I am, I slowed down ON PURPOSE. I know thats a good way to get your car hit and I'm sure it just increased his road rage, but it was the principle people. I was trying to make a point. He, of course, flipped me off when he passed me and I just smiled. Don't you love the holiday spirit? People crack me up.....

So, today at work I've already heard some singing of "Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy", which leads me to believe it's gonna be a long day. And we are now doing an impromtu food day tomorrow which can only mean one thing..........I'm breakin' out the big tub o' cookie dough tonight! No one can expect me to actually bake, but I can take already made cookie dough out of the freezer and throw it in the oven. If anyone wants to come over tonight and help me do 8 loads of laundry, bake and pack for a 4 day trip, let me know. I have no food or alcohol to entertain you with, but I'm sure it'll still be fun............

There's just something about that Wal-Mart

It wasn't just me. Did y'all hear about the dude that carjacked some people at the Maplewood Wal-Mart yesterday? That is the same Wal-Mart I was at on Saturday when I started having thoughts about harming others......now, I didn't act on my thoughts like this guy clearly did. It's called restraint people!

Three day work week

Don't you love three day work weeks? I know I do. I can't wait to go home Wednesday, but am totally not looking forward to sitting in that Hwy 44 traffic. That is gonna be way un-fun. At least while I'm home I'm gonna get to see my friend Robyn-it's been YEARS! I can't wait to see her and her little Lola.

Funny Stubby story (for those that know who Stubby is). I was talking with my mom yesterday and she says "guess what your puppy did". No telling with that little dog. My parents were leaving to go to Rolla, they drove past the pond and saw Stubby out on the island (their pond has a little island in the middle, so clearly she had to do some workin' to get there). No idea why she was on the island as there is nothing there, she was just hanging out. Poor Hank was on the bank just staring out at Stubby-we think he doesn't know how to swim (and we already know he's not that smart). I can't wait to see those dogs-especially when Chloe is coming down too-that should be real fun.....

I'm back at the crisis line again tonight-I just can't get enough, I tell ya!

back home

I'm back home, and I'm not talking about Salem. Back working at the crisis line and it seriously feels like I never left. I started taking calls as soon as I came in and haven't looked back! It's been good so far, already got to talk to some of my favorite frequents, it's good times. And, I'm not sitting at home by myself watching my 4 tv channels. I am definitely moving up in the world, huh?

I may finally be tired

I guess keeping really busy does finally take it's toll on you. I'm feelin' kinda sleepy today but have to be at the crisis line in two hours. Diet Coke will cure that, I'm sure.

Ended up having a fun Saturday night. Our Friends Thanksgiving was a hit. We even got to hear the ham story (don't ask). Afterwards, my friend Erin and I headed out, because, you know, we are single gals, we must go out and party, right? Uh yea....so we went to Big Daddy's...can I tell you how old I felt? Was anyone else over 25 besides us? No, we did have fun though. Little creeped out by the Old Bald Guy who kept calling us "baby" and asking us if we needed more drinks....I wanted to say, only one person has ever been allowed to call me baby and you sure as hell aren't gonna be the second...but I didn't, that would have been the beer talking. We did have a power girls shout out moment when "Since You Been Gone" came on. Funny how most of us could apply that song to our lives.....

I still managed to get up and go to church this morning (aren't you proud mom?). Grandpa talked the whole time and Red and I just giggled. Then we (and Jon) hung out with Grandpa for awhile at his house. Man can that guy tell some stories! We got to hear the haunted attic story from when they lived in New York, and the story of the guy who was renting their house in St. Louis and wasn't paying the rent-grandpa had to call him and when the guy said he wasn't living there anymore, grandpa says "I don't give a shit where you live, I want my money"(or something to that effect, the word "shit" was in there somewhere). Good times. Now I'm just killing time till I go to work. It'll be so fun to see my old peeps again!

I didn't mean to have homicidal ideation

It really was my own fault. I knew I shouldn't have done it. But, it kept calling my name, drawing me in. What was it, you may ask? Well I'll tell you-it was going to Wal-Mart on a Saturday afternoon. I should have known better. First there was nowhere to park-1st clue. Second, as I'm walking in, I see 20-30 other people walking in with me in a sort of trance-like state. It was kinda like we were in a cult....anyway, as soon as I walked in, mayhem. People everywhere. Screaming kids everywhere. Slow old ladies everywhere. The urge to harm others just crept up on me, I swear. Of course, when I actually started formulating plans in my head, I knew it was time to get out of there. So, I got my green bean casserole fixin's and face powder, and I got the hell out. There is no need to fill out any affidavits, I promise I won't harm anyone and I am able to contract for safety at this time.

just what I needed

I got an email from my friend Canada, who lives in, well....Canada today. It made me happy (it really is the little things in life...), now you are the subject of a blog entry Canada-aren't you excited? I can't wait to talk to you-call me soon (is it an international rate when you are calling Canada from the US and vice versa? I have no idea....). I'll think of you as I go to Salem next week and see the big Conoco, which is actually a BP now, but it's still the same idea....I miss you Canadian Bacon!

Luv, Yankee Doodle

P.S. My sign is Aquarius............

Words can't even describe

I can't even begin to explain the weirdness that was last night. Sarah and I both kinda felt like we were in the Twilight Zone. There were the weird group of doctors from Pfizer that were all completely wasted and quizzing us about smoking. Apparently one of the dudes we met is some big shot doctor from Connecticut who has invented some drug to help people stop smoking-it'll be available June 2007, FYI.....Anyway, then there was the doctors weird cousin (Cousin John, was it?), who explained to us (several times) that it is not necessary to wear cammo while deer hunting. Sarah was like "The folks at Bass Pro would be interested to hear that". Dude says all you need is your orange hat and vest. He also asked if Sarah and I were sisters....uh, yea. We tried to convince these drunk fools that we were heading to the east side to go to the strip clubs, but I don't think they bought it. And dude, what was up with that lady? Her bad 80's hair and shoulder pads mixed with her inability to carry on an interesting conversation totally explained why she's 37 and single...geez! People-if that's me at 37, take me out back with my daddy's shot gun and put me out of my misery, ok? What a freak (and not a good kind of freak, cuz I like the good kind of freak). So, we tried to ignore them and carry on our own conversation. The funniest part of the night-Sarah brought a gift certificate she had. I was like, great we can really do some drinking now! The gift certificate was from...........2002!!!! Hilarious...even better? They accepted it.
So, then we moved on to a bar that's close to my apartment. Nice little hole in the wall kinda place. We find a place to sit and not even five minute later some dude put a couple of Budweisers down on our table for us....we were like "uh, thanks?". Neither one of us drink Budweiser, but who is gonna say no to free beer? I was really hoping we weren't then gonna have to be forced to talk to him, which thank God were weren't until much later on. I am sure I am leaving some parts of the night out as right now it's a bit fuzzy-Sarah, feel free to fill in the details....

To all Diet Coke addicts-Schnucks has 12 packs on sale three for $7.88. It's a steal!!!! I rushed right over to my neighborhood Schnucks before they were all gone (and the shelves were already nearly empty!). Go now!!!!

TGIF, Part 27

Really, isn't it TGIF every Friday? Fridays actually aren't so much fun at my job because it is the busiest day of the week. I, however, being the butt kissing over-achiever that I am, managed to finish all 14 of my cases by 2:30. Yes, it's true-I rock. Then (in patented Kerri butt kissing fashion), I helped my co-workers finish their cases. Dude, really it was cuz I was bored, but don't tell anyone. Now, just waitin for it to be time to go. Going to happy hour tonight and, really, that is what has gotten me through the day thus far. One of my hospital contacts in Kansas City told me that it's good to have goals and forward thinking (happy hour). I agreed, and promised him I'd have a margarita for him. I am such a giver!

Book club was so much fun last night. We just laughed, and laughed and laughed. And Christina-I'm really not mad at you for your inability to filter-it's ok! Can't wait for next month and our White Elephant gift-I have a montage of things to choose from for that. Someone is gonna be a very, very lucky girl!

I am definitely looking forward to this weekend. I will be very busy, but that's the way I like it! Lots of fun plans and then back to the crisis line on Sunday to begin my second job! I know, I'm crazy (guess I'll fit in well, huh?). Then we have the three day work week next week and then TIME OFF. I so cannot wait for that. And I'm excited about going home.

Have a good weekend everyone. Be safe and all that good stuff. Watch out for the other guy (as my dad likes to say)

I'm bored

Seriously bored. Still at work. Been done with my cases since like 2:45. Got nuttin' to do. I know, there are worse problems to have.....half my co-workers are gone so there is no one to bug, I still have 45 minutes before I can leave....what is a girl to do? At least I have book club tonight-that will be fun. But what will I do between now and 6pm? Guess I'll have to come up with something.......

Happy Birthday Deven!

Happy birthday today to my old friend Deven. OMG-is Deven the big 3-0 today? Why, I do believe he is a fellow 76'er. Welcome to the Dirty Thirty club Dev! It's such a great club to be in, let me tell ya! We've been friends since our CMSU days. Hey CMSU readers-remember when, for a time, he went by "D-Mac"? That was really funny....good ol' Deven-I miss him! He, my friend Christi and I had some good times together. Usually it was spent drunk at a rugby party, but whatever-we sure had fun. And remember the time in the dorms when Deven and Todd had a pony keg in their bathtub? Such good times!

we're under attack!

Dude-I was bombarded by Old Newsboys Day people this morning on my way to work (there were like 600 of them on Jamieson.....). I felt guilty avoiding eye contact with them (especially since my Grandpa is one of those people this morning), but seriously, I have no money to give to the cause (what is the cause anyway?). I did feel for the poor guy whose pile of papers started blowing all over the street from the wind, and the other guy who dropped his money and it was flying down Jamieson. I didn't feel bad enough to help, mind you, I had to get to work people! I will have to find some other way to give back, I promise I will........isn't my presence in the world gift enough???????? Yep, I got a little bit of sleep last night so the sarcasm is ON today people. You've been warned. I've already threatened to scrap with a couple of my co-workers, everyone is placing bets-some have their money on me-I am awful scrappy when I want to be......my friend Amy said she's getting shin guards (I do like to kick.....). Oh yea, it's gonna be a good day!

Dude from Missouri ROCKS!

Anyone watching The Biggest Loser? Well, the Missouri guy got voted off tonight (he was up against the stupid Florida guy-whatever!). Anyway, they give you an update at the end of the show telling how much they've lost since they've been off the show. Missouri dude has lost 140 freakin' pounds. Good Lord-that's more than I weigh! I thought it was pretty cool. I'll have you know it's been two whole weeks since that show made me cry....see, I'm 'a gettin' tough (or just angry and bitter, whatever.....)
I will NOT tolerate it snowing tonight. Not one little bit. Do you hear me?

Has anyone ever been sooooo tired that they get completely irrational and have a bit of a breakdown? That was me last night. Beginning my third night in a row of virtually not sleeping at all, I snapped around 12:30am last night. Spontaneously bursted out crying (which is a really sad state of affairs as you are crying and talking to yourself and you're the only one there....). I was just so frustrated that I couldn't fall asleep. The weird part? My entire body was asleep except for my head. My head won't stop. And its not one particular thing I'm thinking about, oh no, it's a good mix of crap that need not be in my head at 12:30 at night. I'm pretty sure the makers of Lunesta will NOT be hiring me to do their commercials as I think their product is a BUNCH OF CRAP......

Despite my sleepless night and the crappy weather today, I did have a good day. Sure, it took me over an hour to get home from work, but it was still a good day. I did a conference call with one of the hospitals I work with and was happy to hear that they love working with me (especially good to hear when your supervisor is in the room). So, that was pretty cool. I jokingly call myself The Evil Managed Care Lady. See, if you just make 'em laugh, they will be like putty in your hands...(just kidding). I'd call in sick tomorrow, but I don't want Amy to kill me (half our team will be in Pennsylvania) leaving the rest of us to pick up the slack.

Oh, and Broker-let me talk to Mike tomorrow to discuss happy hour plans-I will keep you updated!

Be safe out there tonight people in the S-N-O-W.

Happy Birthday Aunt Diane!

Happy Birthday to my Aunt Diane (also known as Uncle Jimmy's better half-ha! Just kidding Unc!). I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Why is it that all my relatives were born in November? We still have Uncle Jimmy, Clint and my daddy left this month! Geez people! :)

And starring.................Sarah B!!!!!!!

How cute is she? This is my friend Val's little girl, Sarah. These are her 2-year-old pictures. This kid is a trip. Not too long ago, I got to talk to her on the phone. That was some good times. She is a very funny kid. Must get it from her mama....(not that BB isn't funny!).

big, exciting news

My friend Jill called to inform me today that the one, the only BRET MICHAELS is performing at the Stratford friday night. You know him as the lead singer of Poison...80's hair metal bands at it's best....I doubt I will be in attendance, because seriously, I don't think I can handle hearing "Every Rose Has It's Thorn". It's a personal choice every girl has to make for herself. However, if I have too much fun at happy hour after work, I may be persuaded to hang out in Fenton..........

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday today to my Uncle Jay, who is probably 107 but doesn't look a day over 106 (ha! ha! just kidding-I love ya!). Also, Happy Birthday shout out to my friend JP who is living the good life in Maine right now (yea right......), working his way through med school.....Hope you both have a great birthday. And remember....you'll always be older than me. :)

the Idiot People strike again

Yep, it's raining in St. Louis, you know what that means-the Idiot People are out and about. You know who I'm talking about-the people that think the rain gives them a license to drive like, well, idiots. Take the moron who sped past me on Jamieson this morning-even though there wasn't another lane. Or the fools on 170 involved in the four car pile-up, real nice people, real nice. And can I tell you, no one told me to bring my swimsuit to work. I arrived to find our parking lot is like a freakin' swimming pool today. No, I really am not cranky today (I know it's hard to tell), despite the fact that I literally got no sleep last night. I have got to stop obsessing about it, I think. I was up every hour, on the hour. Really not cool. Then I just waited until it was time to get up. Then I drove with the Idiot People. So, it's been a pretty eventful day so far and it's only 9:30am. I did arrive to work and discovered that some very nice person had put a one pound bag of Skittles on my desk-isn't that awesome? I used to have a Skittles Fairy at the crisis line, and now it seems the Skittles Fairy has found me again. LOVIN' IT!

Speaking of the crisis line-I'M BACK BABY! Yes, I've made the decision to take on a second job. Glutton for punishment? Maybe. Broke as hell-definitely. I think it will work out well. I am working PRN (meaning "as needed" for those that don't know), so basically I will just sign up for shifts when I feel like it, as long as I work a bare minimum per week, which is no biggie. I've been thinking of getting a part-time job for awhile now, going back just made sense since I already know how to do the job and already know (and like) all of the people there. I think it will be a good thing. And, when I will actually have a bit more financial stability (isn't that what we all want????), it will definitely be a good thing.

So, be careful out there party people. Watch out for the Idiots. Don't become one of them.

The sleep gods hate me.....and other crazy thoughts

I mean seriously, I guess it is just not in the cards for me to actually sleep one freakin' night without waking up 700 times. I mean, if that's the deal, then I guess I have to be cool with it. I want to scream at the Lunesta commercial with the nice, peaceful butterfly flying by as the person lays down for their nice, uninterrupted night of sleep: LIES! ALL LIES!!!!! DON'T BE FOOLED! YOU WILL STILL TAKE AN HOUR TO FALL ASLEEP AND WILL BE AWAKE AGAIN BY 4:00AM!!! Of course, with all this new time I have on my hands from not sleeping, maybe I'll actually get my Christmas cards done this year. Or actually rearrange my empty apartment, or take up sky-diving. Who knows? The possibilities are endless......

Well, I guess I should get to work. We are totally slammed today in the world of managed care. Apparently, this past weekend was a good weekend to go insane. My friend Mike and I are sure that we both would meet criteria for partial hospitalization, we're not quite bad enough for inpatient, although my symptoms are improving and I may be ready for intensive outpatient soon. Cross your fingers.

***this melodramatic outburst has been brought to you by the makers of sleep aids everywhere that are in a vast conspiracy to make sure KD doesn't get any sleep. thank you and KD approves this message***

Cubs ink deals with Ramirez, Wood

At least one good thing happened for the Cubbies-a new four year deal with Aramis Ramirez, who, without a doubt is their best player (the Cubs know it was in their best interest to pay him his 73 million bucks...). I really thought he was gonna walk. Wouldn't blame the guy if he did. Don't so much care about them signing Kerry Wood for another year, since he's played like 5 games in the last three years....now all the Cubbies gotta do is go out and find some pitching. Yea, I know-good luck with that. Hey, I hear Suppan-Bringin-Da-Heat is a free agent.....

Why, oh why?

Why can't I sleep? I mean, seriously? It seems my sleep has gotten worse since I have been trying the various sleeping pills. No more. I fell asleep around midnight and was awake at 4:00am. SO not cool. I'm beginning to get slightly cranky about it.....when Red called me to see if I was going to church, I was like "uh, I think I'm gonna take a nap instead". So, I did.

I am excited now that Channel 2 is coming in (for those that don't know, I don't have cable and I refuse to get it. Charter is NOT getting $50 a month out of this girl! I'm part Jewish, after all!). So, at least I will get to see the Rams game today, if the channel holds out for me.

Is it sad that I am actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow so I'll have something to do? Wow, I just re-read that sentence-yep, that's pretty damn sad. Happy Sunday people.

Random Saturday

Well, not doing much this weekend, but that's ok. I did have a fun lunch with my sister today. Always good just sitting and laughing-and I can't wait for our Christmas shopping excursion! I'm marking it down on my calendar! I'm now sitting around my apartment trying to think of something to do. I still haven't found the motivation to really reorganize or redecorate my apartment (takes too much energy). I have no money-so shopping or doing anything fun is out of the question. I've read all my books. The mail hasn't come yet, so I can't even read my People magazine. I'd like to go to sleep, but that's all I ever want to do anymore, so I am purposely not letting myself. I did some laundry-that was fun. I thought about doing the dishes-then thought twice. I thought about going for a jog in the park, but it's really cold outside. So, instead, I am blogging. Man, my life got exciting quick, huh? Damn.....

Hallmark cards that never made it.....but really should have

These are too funny.....and could come in handy in so many situations.....

Looking back over the years that we've been together, I can't help but wonder... "What the hell was I thinking?"

Congratulations on your wedding day! Too bad no one likes your husband.

How could two people as beautiful as you Have such an ugly baby?

I've always wanted to have someone to hold, someone to love. After having met you .. I've changed my mind.

I must admit, you brought Religion into my life. I never believed in Hell until I met you

As the days go by, I think of how lucky I am... That you're not here to ruin it for me.

When we were together, you always said you'd die for me. Now that we've broken up, I think it's time you kept your promise. (this one was my friend Mike's favorite-we giggled about it all day at work today....)

We have been friends for a very long time .. let's say we stop?

I'm so miserable without you it's almost like you're here.

Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. Did you ever find out who the father was?

Your friends and I wanted to do something special for your birthday. So we're having you put to sleep.

Too good to be true

Uh, yea....I knew that full night's sleep was too good to be true. Last night was hell on Earth. I couldn't fall asleep, I couldn't stay asleep, the phone rang at 10:30 and woke me up, I kept getting hot, I was uncomfortable, even my pillows weren't comfortable. Needless to say, it was NOT a good nights sleep. And, I continue to feel on the verge of getting sick-acky, scratchy throat, and my freakin' back has hurt all week-not sure what that's about. I wish I'd just get sick already so I can get over it. I hate just feeling blah...much rather get the illness so that I can recover from said illness. Dude, I have a weekend full of nothing ahead of me this weekend. That happens when you have no money. It's fine tho. Maybe I'll just sleep for the next two days. That would be cool.....

HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!

I finally got a full, 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night! There is a God! Now, I'm a little hung over from the sleeping medicine, but by God, I finally got some sleep. It is a good day. Now if I could just make it two in a row, I'd be doing alright. Of course, my day started out having to talk to some crazy suicidal woman, so I'm not sure if it's gonna be a good day or not...

Quit feeling sorry for yourself KD!

Ok, so I'm not the only one having a rough time lately. Life is funny like that, isn't it? Rough times suck, but I really think they are there to teach you some sort of lesson. Anyway, enough about that. Who else is having a rough time, you may ask? Well my prayers are going out to the following people that I love dearly:

-To my cousins Jeff and Jessica: I know everything will be ok, I'll keep you both in my thoughts!

-To my mommy, who has to have surgery, I will help take care of you when I am home for Thanksgiving, I'll help with the cooking, but please don't put me in charge...I don't want dad accusing me of ruining Thanksgiving (when we all know it's Red's job to do that!).

-To my grandpa, I hope you are feeling better soon! You were certainly talkative today, so I think you may be on the road to recovery!

-To my sister, sorry you are having such a rough time in Boston and that you feel so icky, I hope you feel better soon! Be safe flying back today!

-To my friends Val and John and John's sister Yoko and her husband-My thoughts are with your entire family as you all deal with a very, very difficult time. Call me if you need anything Val!

See, all I'm dealing with is a broken heart, these folks have some real issues that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy (not that I have a lot of enemies-that I'm aware of anyway). People-take care of each other out there, ok? Later-I need to do some actual work now. Much Love, KD

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

Ugh

I feel icky. I'm talkin' the achy, tired, sneezy, runny nose, headachy kind of icky. I don't feel like moving. I am so tired my eyes are crossing. I do believe some illness is attacking my body. And I don't like it. I want my mommy (is that wrong when you're 30 years old???). And I'm still pissed off about this sleeping pill not working. I was up again last night/this morning around 3:00am. My doctor called me in a new script today for Lunesta, which I'm sure will work wonders, however, with my stellar (enter sarcastic tone here) prescription plan through my insurance, said Lunesta will cost me $55.00. Uh yea, not so much. Let me see-may my rent or pay for sleeping pills.....you decide. Can you tell I'm a little cranky today?

Monday, November 06, 2006

So freakin funny......

SO not liking this sleeping pill

Not right. This sleeping pill I have is just not right. So, it put me to sleep alright (10pm, thank you very much). I slept uninterrupted until.................3:30am. This not what I think of when I think of a good nights sleep. I mean, seriously. After 3:30am I tossed and turned until 6:26 when my alarm went off. That is SO not cool. Do not make me sue the makers of Restoril for promising a good 7 hours of sleep. False advertising. Now, luckily for said makers of Restoril, I am in a really good mood today, a little slap happy (probably from sleep deprivation), but nonetheless, in a good mood. My friend Mike and I laughed our asses of this morning at the printer. We got new printers at work and now when you print something, it comes with a cover sheet that has your log-in name on it (mine is kdavid4, in case you cared). Well, this morning, Mike's log-in, mtinni2, made us laugh so hard I thought we were gonna wet ourselves. It is now his new nickname. I know, I'm easily entertained.

Oh holy hangover, Batman

Ok, not really hung over, but then again, maybe I am...Yesterday was an, um....interesting day, I don't really wanna get into the icky part, I only wanna talk about all the fun I had!

So, Allison and I had a great time at Schlafly's yesterday. We just laughed and laughed, especially at this dude that kept staring at me the whole time. I wanted to say "uh, I'm not trying to be rude but I am sooooooooo not looking at other dudes right now, but thanks for playing". I didn't say that-I just wanted to.

After that, my girl Sarah and I hung out at my apartment for a while (SO glad you were there with me girl!) then headed out to see Ivory Tiger. I really was tired and wanted to stay home and sleep, but knew I'd have fun if I just got my butt out of the house. So, to Geo Money-yes, I still owe you an ass kicking for that comment (and you know what I'm talking about!!!!! And I'm telling Jesse!!!!!!). Uncle Jimmy-thanks for, um, "altering" the set list-you are the BEST! Actually thanks to the whole band-you all were great last night, can't wait to go to all of your MISSOURI shows! :)

Dude, it is 9:00am on a Sunday. Why in the HELL am I awake? I should get my butt to church, but I just don't see it happening today. Too much to do and I gotta be somewhere at 1:00. Speaking of, I hear Shop and Save calling my name....gotta get there before all the old church people start rolling in.....have a good week y'all!

Fun, good times

Oh my God-last night was so much fun. There is nothing like hanging out with your best girl friends and just laughing and having a good time (and the two HUGE pitchers of sangria didn't hurt either). I laughed so much last night, it felt good-I almost forgot what it felt like to be happy. And I swear that movie was the BEST freakin' movie I have ever seen....folks, you must run out RIGHT NOW and rent "Slumber Party Massacre II". Wow...you will be a changed person after you see it, I guarantee it......Oh-Mom, guess what? My friend Carrie's dog looks EXACTLY LIKE STUBBY. I swear, they are carbon copies, it was freaking me out all night long. She even acts like her, which is really weird....anyway, the fun good times continue in a couple hours. A little brewery tour action followed by some 80's hair metal good times-you can't beat it! By tomorrow, I'm gonna need a long, long nap. And I can't wait to take that Restoril. I'm thinking 7:30-8:00 sounds like a good bedtime for tomorrow, whaddya think????

Happy Birthday to my cousin Greg

My cousin Greg is the big 1-8 today! Woo! Hoo! I remember thinking I was so cool when I turned 18 (little did I know I was fooling myself....). Greg, I hope you have a great 18th birthday. Love ya!

It's Friday! It's Friday!

Friday is finally here. And it's the best kind of Friday-its PAYDAY FRIDAY (don't get excited or plan on robbing me-the paycheck is already almost gone due to bills. Sorry to disappoint). I can't wait to hang with my girls tonight. I have been dreaming of Captain Morgan all week. There is nothing like sailin' with the Captain....Everyone have a fun and safe weekend. Mine will be busy, which is just fine with me. I like it. Later y'all.

Dude, now THIS is what I'm talking about.......

the new phone system from hell

Seriously, trying to switch over to a new phone system in a company that has like 60,000 employees is not an easy task. These new phones are wild-we will never again actually touch the phone, rather, it is all done through the computer. What? I'm confused......and I don't think my new phone works.....

Look at my neice!

Isn't she cute? Here she is with my sister at the Cardinals parade from last weekend. She always looks like she's smiling......

So much to do, so little time

It's really hard to be this popular....(I am sooooo kidding). But really, this weekend is jam packed with all kinds of fun, good times-I can't wait! Definitely looking forward to tomorrow night's festivities with my very best girlfriends (hey Boogie-too bad you couldn't find that movie-that would have been PERFECT!) and on Saturday my girl Allison and I are doing an impromptu happy hour in the middle of the afternoon because, why not? I'm hoping to go see Ivory Tiger Saturday night as well. Sunday will be full of scrapbooking (something I seriously have not done in nearly a year) and just hanging out with my friends (something else I've hardly done in the last year). So, bring on the weekend!

With a little bit of stress you too can score sleeping meds from your doctor!

It's true. All you have to do is give your doctor the sob story about how you have a broken heart and you can't eat or sleep and BOOM! you walk out with a script for Restoril. I am making jokes about it because Restoril falls in the category of benzodiazepines, more commonly known to us in the field as "benzos". It's funny because those of us in the field make fun of our patients who I so nicely refer to as "med seeking freaks", because benzos are fun.....and easily addictive. Well, I am now officially a med seeking freak. Good times. After quite a few sleepless nights, I couldn't take it anymore. I went to see my doctor today. I really had been doing pretty good the last couple of days, but kinda lost it when the nurse hugged me and told me she would pray for me. I can't handle people being nice to me. Anyway, to those that have asked (and I thank you much), I am doing much better, hanging in there, am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel...blah, blah, blah (and my sarcastic sense of humor is coming back-that HAS to be a good sign)!

THANKS RENEE WILLIAMS!

You know what you did...........and I really appreciate it. I thank God I have friends like you around! You ROCK!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!

It's my favorite holiday today! Yay! Happy Halloween everyone! I love it. Everyone in my office today dressed up like our Clinical Director Brett. He does kinda always wear the same kind of outfit-dress pants, button down Polo shirt and loafers. It's pretty funny to see everyone being "Brett" for Halloween. Hey, this is the same guy that has a fart machine in his office-I think he has a pretty good sense of humor. Quick shout out to my peeps at the crisis line-I had fun hanging out with you guys last night-I'll be back next Monday for some more fun good times! Well, everyone have a fun and safe Halloween! Later.

Thanks SB!!!!!

Again, my real friends just keep showing their true selves. Thank you SB for trying to boost my self confidence and self-esteem. Even if it was all crap, right now, I'm buying it! Thanks for talking with me tonight-it made me miss our nightly chats (while we were supposed to be working). But it also made me miss our friendship. You rock SB, I don't care what Amy has to say about you! :) And, FYI...I'll be sending that email out real soon!

Thank you

Even though it feels like my entire life is turned upside down right now, I do still have the realization that I have a wonderful support system around me. My friends (and you know who you are) have been GREAT. I really don't know what I would do without you guys. Thanks to everyone who has tried to keep me busy and offered me a place to crash-your friendship means more to me now than it ever has. And I want to take this time to apologize. I know that over the last year, I have neglected a lot of my friendships (and family) and I want to say that I am sincerely sorry. I have no excuse. The fact that you can forgive me and still be my friend means the world to me. You have no idea.....and to my family, I know you are waiting for the Old Kerri to return. All I can say is, have patience, she will return someday, hopefully soon. Know that your love and support will be the one thing that gets me through.

Happy Birthday Ben!

Just wanted to wish a very happy 20th birthday to my cousin Ben. I seriously remember when he was born, making me feel really, really old today. Anyway-I know you are half a world away, but I hope over there in Qatar you are having a great birthday! I miss you and can't wait until you come home!

Saturday, October 28, 2006

Congrats Cardinals!

Just wanted to congratulate the Cardinals on winning the World Series. Now, everyone knows I am a diehard Cubs fan, but I have to remain true to the NL Central not to mention the city I live in, so I am very happy the Cardinals won. Besides, who wants De-toilet (aka Detroit) to win anything? I mean, seriously? And besides, Albert Pujols and Mark Mulder look hot drenched in champagne.......

Happy Birthday Christi!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to my dear friend Christi! Hope you are having a great day. We will ignore the fact that you are now 31-Good lord! When did that happen. Do you realize we met when we were 18? We have freakin' been friends for 13 years now! Where does the time go? Wow.....Well, I hope you have a great birthday. I miss you, we must get together soon!!!!!!!!!!!

How cute is this????????

This is my friend Sarah's little girl, Elizabeth (almost 3). This was her first school picture. Doesn't she look thrilled? I seriously think this is about the cutest thing I have ever seen! She looks kinda like she wants to kick someone's ass! :)

Otanjou-bi Omedetou Gozaimasu Red and Jon!

Uh....thats Happy Birthday in Japanese-just for you guys! It's so funny that my sister and her husband have the same birthday-even the same year. So-enjoy the big 2-8 guys, as I told Jon-you're almost as old as me-congrats! In all seriousness, I hope you both have a great birthday, Red I'm glad we got to do dinner last night and I'm sorry Chloe pooped in the basement. She's a bad, bad dog.......Have a great Halloween weekend, have fun and be safe! I love you both!

My neice is a trained KILLER!!!!

My neice Chloe is a Tiger killer! Check her out in her Pujol's t-shirt (yes, my sister is officially insane). Given Chloe's destructive nature, it isn't at all surprising that she tore apart this stuffed tiger. The girl is a Cards fan, that's for sure. I hear she thinks Jim Edmonds is hot-especially when he wears his eye liner! Red-I better NEVER see her tearing up a cute little stuffed CUBBIE BEAR! :)

She looks awful proud of herself, doesn't she?

Happy Birthday Krista!

Just wanted to wish a happy birthday to my friend Krista! Hope you have a wonderful day!

The haunted clown house from HELL

SO not right. The haunted house we went to tonight had a freakin' clown room!!!! As I screamed "Oh God, Oh God, Oh God", a clown followed me, saying the same thing. All I could do was hide behind Karen and hope the evil clown would get away from me (hey J, it may have been Jo Jo or Sparky-you know they get a lot of work this time of year. About time those bastards got a job.). Then I announced to anyone listening that I needed a drink. I'd say it was well deserved, having to go through that traumatic ordeal. Before we went in, the security guy told us we weren't allowed to cuss. I was like "well, what if I accidentally cuss?". He was like "well, I guess thats ok"....I think I did say "WTF" a couple of times, and I'm pretty sure "oh holy shit" came out of my mouth too. I couldn't help it. The haunted house was as fun as it was scary. I seriously laughed the whole time-my stomach hurt I was laughing so hard. Felt good-haven't laughed like that in a while (I seriously think the last time I laughed that hard was the night J and I went driving around Wildwood and kept seeing deer and the Horse Crossing sign). After the harrowing ordeal with the clowns was over, we went over to Trailhead for a much deserved beer. It was a good night, despite the icky rainy yuckiness. And now I'm home, and going to bed-that one beer made me sleepy. I just know I'm gonna have nightmares about clowns tonight......

The Eye of the Tiger....

Come on! Everyone sing! No? Ok.

Just wanted to wish J good luck tonight in his fight (I'd say break a leg, but since that is a very real possibility, I won't say that). I wish I could be there to support you, but you know I don't wanna see blood and stuff flying all over the place! I
do hope you win, however, and will be sending you good thoughts. Are you gonna wear shorts like those guys???? Hmmmm.....Ok, I'm not right. But, GOOD LUCK, I'm sure you'll kick ass. Maybe I'll play a Kid Rock or Slipknot song in your honor tonight! I will NOT, however, sing. I know you appreciate that. Anyway, my only request is that you please don't injure that pretty little face of yours! :)

look what my mama posted for me!

I sooooo love my parents house in the fall. Look at it, it's beautiful. This is the view from their deck. I wasn't able to make it down this year-usually I go home every October because I just love the fall and the trees. Thanks mom for giving me a little bit of home! I love you much and will see you at Thanksgiving (which really isn't all that far away!). If you take any more pics, send them my way! Luv-Ker Ker

clarity

Clarity is a wonderful thing. It doesn't often happen to me, but when it does, it feels like a million pounds have been lifted. I have achieved some sort of clarity this week. Doesn't matter what it's about, what matters is what I learn from it. I've learned that certain things are out of my control and that all I can do is try my hardest and, if it doesn't work, I will know I did everything I could. This really could apply to anything in life. So, KD is in a good place right now. Don't y'all love it when I get all philosophical and stuff? Scary, isn't it????

It's official-we're a goin' haunted house-ing!!!!

Ooooooo.....scary!!!! We are going to haunted houses this Saturday night, Oct 21. Come one, come all! If you are interested in joining us, let me know and I'll give you the scoop. Sue says she's bringing the Depends.....just in case.

so jealous

My friend Sarah totally got to meet Nelly at the Rams game Sunday. She emailed me the pic as proof........................ Sarah was with me when we went to see Nelly in Memphis last year. SUCH a good time. She officially sucks.

blah, blah, blah

Ick-what a nasty Monday morning! It's cold and rainy here in the STL. Dude-I saw a pickup truck upside down on Hwy 70 this morning. Not a good thing. There were accidents everywhere, because, apparently once it starts raining, people think they have the green light to drive like even bigger idiots than usual. It took me an hour to get to work this morning.

I'm in a really good mood today for some odd reason. Not that I'm complaining-I'll take it. Haven't had a lot of good mood days lately it seems. I'm trying to snap out of whatever funk I'm in. For those around me that I am torturing, I apologize. I'm trying, I promise.

Well, I'll keep this short because I have 14 cases today (the most I've ever had), so I will be a busy little bee from probably 11am-on. Have a good icky Monday. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

Friday, October 13, 2006

Happy Friday the 13th people!

Today has been pretty crappy, lives up to it's name. I think I'm just gonna go home and go to bed and hope for a better tomorrow. Be safe out there.

Click

Every time I have ever watched a movie with J, undoubtedly I fall asleep. It never fails. Doesn't matter what movie it is (although, if it involves Vin Diesel or Nicolas Cage, you can be SURE I'll fall asleep fast). I don't know what it is, movies just make me sleepy. Must be that short attention span....Anyway, last night J and I watched the movie "Click" with Adam Sandler. And, for the first time ever, KD stayed awake and J was the one that fell asleep! Ha! The tables finally turned. The movie was ok (best line was his like 5 year old kid saying "daddy, have you been smoking crack?"), it got weird near the end (as any movie with Christopher Walken would). Just wanted to have this occasion documented as it is not likely to happen again for a long, long time.

people are Cardinal crazy!

Wow-there is a woman at work walking around with a Scott Spezio goatee on her face...good times (she also just happens to be related to Harry Caray-coincidence?). Yes, people are Cardinal Crazy around here! Good luck Cards-hope you beat the crap out of the Pond Scum!

Tuesday, October 10, 2006

Ugh...I hate sleepless nights

I so couldn't sleep last night. I don't know why, because I was really tired. As I laid there staring at the ceiling fan, I grew more and more frustrated. As I watched the clock go past midnight, I grew more and more frustrated. I really, really hate nights like that. Especially when you get up to start your day after having virtually no sleep and it's nice and cloudy outside-perfect sleeping weather. So, I'm thinking it's gonna be a Skittles and Diet Coke kind of day. Consider yourselves warned.

Saturday, October 07, 2006

me sleepy

yea......I slept in today. Then I took a nap. And I wasn't even out that late last night...I'm a wuss. My girls and I went to see Ivory Tiger play last night. A good time was had by all. I saw my Aunt Diane do shots...that was some good times! I was waaaaaay hyper last night (ok, maybe a little drunk-don't worry mom-I wasn't driving!!!), don't know why. I had fun and was home by 2am. Not bad. Now, here I sit on a Saturday night, blogging...exciting, huh? Guess I'm just too damn old to go out two nights in a row. Wow-when did that happen?

Too bad the Cardinals didn't win today-hope they do tomorrow. Hope they get to play the Pond Scum. Ok. I really have nothing else to say. Is it wrong to want to go to bed at 8:16pm? Nahhh.....

Friday, October 06, 2006

Just for J.....

Suppan is bringin' da HEAT!

Ok, so Suppan doesn't really "bring the heat", it's an inside joke that my brother and sister would get. In all seriousness, I wish the Cards luck this weekend, hope they win the series tomorrow. Hope they get to play the Pond Scum (sorry Aunt Diane!), that would be cool.

Have a good weekend y'all. Ivory Tiger tonight baby! I'll see ya there. Later peeps.

Thursday, October 05, 2006

supporting Uncle Jimmy

Ok, so me and a couple of my friends are going to see Ivory Tiger tomorrow night. Should be some good times. I haven't seen them in awhile. Other than that, not a whole lot of exciting stuff going on this weekend. There will be the usual grocery shopping, laundry and apartment cleaning-that's always good times.

I haven't really had any blog material this week. My life is boring, sorry.

Tuesday, October 03, 2006

TV freak

I can't get enough of Deal or No Deal. Dude, the contestants on that show are FREAKS. It's such good times. I mean, really my choice in TV shows is limited given that I only have two channels-4 and 5 (because I am too cheap to spend $50 a month on freakin' cable!!!). So maybe that show isn't really all that good, but it's all I got.......

Woo hoo! The Cubs finish DEAD LAST in the entire NL!

Yes, it's true, my boys finished dead last in the entire freakin' league. Did you expect anything other than that? And now Dusty is unemployed. Can't say I'm surprised. He took them from playoff material in 2003 to dead last in 2006. That doesn't say much about his managerial skillz. I feel sorry for the poor fool that inherits the Cubbies. Then again, sometimes all it takes is the right coach to turn a team around, so if Joe Torre is available, that would be great.....thanks.

I still love the Cubs, always will. And, yes, I'm gonna say it.............THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR!

well I thought I was feeling better....

This illness just doesn't want to go away. Now everything is draining, which I know is a good thing but it still sucks. What also sucks is that I am so freakin' hungry. What is up with that???? This post will be short and sweet. We are swamped at work because you know the weekend is a good time to get admitted to a psych hospital, so my caseload today is bigger than it's ever been. Yee haw! Hope everyone has a good Monday. I'm just gonna try to get through the next 8 hours then go home to my bed and my box of Kleenex......

Sunday, October 01, 2006

Happy October to ya!!!!

That's what our crazy drunk neighbor said when we were living at Georgetown-remember Red? That guy sucked!

It's October! Yay! My absolute favorite month. I put up my Halloween decorations today. I had fought the urge for long enough. It's officially Halloween month, so let the decorating begin! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, it doesn't really feel like October since it's 80+ degrees outside, but that's ok!

I'm feeling a little better today, but still way weak. At least my head doesn't feel like it weighs 100 pounds anymore.

Mom-love that courthouse web site! Of course, we always knew the Salem government was corrupt. Whomever started that blog is pure genius!

Have a good week y'all. I'm thinking of an Ivory Tiger outing this coming Friday. If anyone is interested, let me know. They are playing somewhere in Fenton. Go to the link for their site to see for sure!

Saturday, September 30, 2006

blah

that is how I feel. blah. Whatever illness I have, it is totally kicking my butt-and taking names. As I type, I feel my fever breaking-a good thing, but I feel gross.

The open house at Red and Jon's was good. Great food Red! The thing about having a cold is that you get way freakin' hungry-or at least I do. And I was happy to get to spend time with my niece Chloe (so what if she's a dog-she LOVES her auntie!). I'm sorry Red, but that dress you had on her was a little much-I think it may even constitute animal cruelty....Mom and Dad were in town for the day too-it was good to see them. A good chunk of the extended family was there too and, as always, it was great to see them. What I did not like was the fact that my little cousins that are 14 and 13 are all taller than me. That just isn't cool. I fell asleep on the couch at one point. I would have stayed asleep but I heard Grandpa yell "what's the matter with Kerri-bird?". That woke me up.

The multiple showings of the wedding video were almost too much to take. It did convince me I should never drink again-or at least not give any speeches when drunk again. The video really was pretty darn funny, but it is hard to watch yourself on video. Do I really talk like that? At least I didn't look fat-I was pretty happy about that. RED-that video doesn't leave your house-understand?????

Well, it's 9pm. Too soon for another Sudafed dose (you don't have to worry about me trying to make meth out of it, don't worry. Although you can take the girl out of Salem......). Speaking of Salem, mom, what is that web site again? I totally want to see it. Ok, now I'm rambling. I think I'm done for today. Family-I love you, great to see you, and thanks Aunt Jan for changing the date of your family dinner so I can go out dressed like a pirate! :)

$1.99 for gas is the greatest thing since sliced bread

Really. Isn't it sad that we are excited about $1.99? Hell, I didn't even need gas but I stopped by to fill up just because I wanted to catch it while its under 2 bucks....I've missed the days where $10 can get you plenty of gas to make it until the next payday....so, I totally have a sore throat today and my ears are popping-never a good thing, I'm pretty sure. My throat started hurting last night (Mike-did you notice me drinking like 8 glasses of water? That was why!), I shrugged it off, took some Benadryl and went to bed. When I woke up this morning, I pretty much felt like crap (although I'm in a good mood!), I feel weak and tired...sounds like I have a GREAT weekend ahead of me, huh? Yea.....

So my parents will be in town tomorrow, very excited to see them. My sis is having an open house at her house-really it is an excuse to publicly embarrass people by showing the Wedding Video...I recall Robert (the best man) and I being interviewed by some dude claiming he was making a video, I have no idea what I said to him, but I'm sure it was good, whatever it was. Yikes......

Hope everyone has a good weekend. TGIF! This week went by pretty fast though. I have a feeling I'll be spending my weekend in bed, with kleenex and DayQuil/NyQuil/Benadryl....good times. Guess I won't so much be bringing sexy back, huh?

Thursday, September 28, 2006

I can't take it....

Ok, I can't watch "The Biggest Loser" anymore. I was totally tearing up last night when the Red Team got to open care packages from home (don't laugh at me J!!!!). I mean, come on, one lady got a painting her kid made of her hand prints. Tell me you wouldn't cry. And next week? They are going on a cruise and the winning team gets to see their family. I am such a sap in my old age.

Happy Birthday Jill!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very happy birthday to my friend Jill (who apparently has super-cute hair!!!!). Hope you have a great day girl-I'll see ya tonite at the beer garden yo! If I remember correctly, Schlafly's has a really nasty whiskey flavored beer-I don't recommend drinking it.....dude, it seems like I am wishing someone a happy birthday every other day. From Sept-Dec, just about everyone I know has a birthday. It's an expensive time of year....not that I mind. I always want the birthday person to feel special! So Yill-I will see you tonight, have a great day, and if you need a DD, just let me know!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, September 27, 2006

random thought of the day

ok, so at work, they apparently like to have food days-A LOT. so today, i promised i would bring in my home made chili now that it really is officially chili season. but then i thought about it-do i REALLY want to carry that big ol' crock pot full of chili all the way up to the office? i'm pretty sure the answer is no.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSE!!!!!!

I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to J. He's like 106 today (ok, not really). J-I hope you have a wonderful 32nd birthday, and I hope the next year is all you want it to be. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! Luv, KD

Halloween costume confirmation

It's official-this year, the girls and I are going to be pirates for Halloween. Perhaps inspired by the Pirate Fest this past weekend, Robyn and Erin came up with the idea and I am fully on board. I mean come on, who wouldn't want to wear a patch on their eye all night?

Monday again?

How is it that every time I blink, it's Monday again? What is up with that? Hope everyone had a good weekend. I had girls nite out on Friday. We hung out at Gitto's (my favorite!) and just sat and laughed and had a couple of beverages. It was fun. Saturday I did lots of fun stuff-grocery shopping and running errands. Not really good times, but necessary. Sunday I just chilled and now here I am on Monday. I am looking forward to seeing my parents this weekend-they will be in town for Red's open house. That will bring September to a close, then it will be my favoritest month of all-October! People get ready-I'll be recruiting folks to go to haunted houses with me soon! :)

Have a good week everyone. I'm gonna try.

In honor of the St. Louis Pirate Festival this weekend

In honor of the Pirate Festival this weekend, I, Kerri Michele Davidson, plan to drink Captain Morgan (a pirate-get it????) all weekend long. It's the least I can do to support the pirate cause. And to those attending the festival-I've been given word that Johnny Depp will NOT be there. Sorry for any distress this may have caused.

TGIF

It's Friday! Yay! I have had a headache every day this week-not good. I'm blaming my allergies. I've been in a good mood, just had a headache. Well, one more day of work then the weekend begins! I am having a girls nite out tonight. I think me and Allison, Tanya, Erin, Robyn and Karen are going out to have some good times. I need to get out of the house. Although it's gonna suck come Saturday morning when my landlord comes over at 9AM to fix the shower. 9am-really? On a Saturday? Is that necessary? I'm looking forward to it though. Just hope this headache goes away so I can actually have fun. I got reviewed at work this week and am told I am doing a great job. That is evidenced by the fact that they are now piling on the work-not that I mind. I pretty much work non-stop the entire 8.5 hours I am at work but it at least makes the days go by fast! It's pay day too, which is fun. I could actually afford to fill my car with gas this morning. See-it's the little things that make me happy. That, and I can actually go grocery shopping this weekend. The kitchen is bare.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Be safe, have fun, don't do anything I wouldn't do (what does that mean anyway?). If you are out and about this weekend, remember to bring sexy back.
Thanks.

Happy Birthday Renee!

Happy birthday today to my friend Renee. Hope you have a great day girl! It was great seeing you (and the other girls) at Book Club last night. We don't care what other people say-just because we no longer read books doesn't mean it's not a book club dammit!!!!!! I LOVE BOOK CLUB!!!!

Thursday, September 21, 2006

Happy Birthday Timbo!

Happy 23rd Birthday to my baby brother, Tim (also known as Timbo, Creep, Timbo-pistachio and Timmy Davidnut). I hope you have a great birthday kiddo. And, as usual, your sister is late in mailing your card, but will do so soon! I love you much and i miss you TONS!!!!!

not good

ok. So, this morning, I got up at my usual time (6:32-those 2 minutes make a difference), showered, got ready to go to work. I was all over it and quite impressed that I was ready with a few minutes to spare. I packed my lunch, grabbed my keys, got ready to walk out the door when I realized that I still had my towel on my head. Uh.....yea. Clearly I didn't get enough sleep, or too much sleep, or maybe the Benadryl still had a hold of me. Whatever it was, I was a little concerned about my ability to function the rest of the day. So far, so good. I drove to work safely, although I did flip some a-hole off who blew past me and another car (when we were in the exit lane), nearly killing us all (this is the 2nd time this week I've flipped someone off. J would be so proud!). Work has started ok, so maybe the whole hair in a towel thing was a fluke. We shall see. The day is young.

My co-workers are singing church hymns

See, they are all as crazy as I am. Church hymns and show tunes. I'm scared. And our team leader is quoting Snoop Dogg. Wow. Did I go to the right place, or what?

It's only 9:30am and I am already wacked out

Amy just sent me back to my desk. She said it's quite clear I've had either 1. sugar or 2. caffeine. Well, my friends, the answer to that would be-I've had BOTH. So there. Plus I got enough sleep last night. Watch out world. I'm sitting at my desk watching my Justin Timberlake bobblehead, well, bobble. My co-worker Jeff turns it around when he is helping he at my desk because he doesn't like Justin staring at him. Can't say I blame him. Dude-I need to calm down. Don't worry-I'll hit a wall (not really hit a wall), and I'll crash and be sleepy. It's bound to happen. It's an improvement over yesterday because I had a big, giant headache. Well, it's gone today. Girls Nite Out on Saturday. If you're a girl and need a night out, let me know. I promise I won't get drunk and sing karaoke....ok, I shouldn't make promises I can't keep, huh?

Well folks, have a GREAT Tuesday. Later.

Saturday, September 16, 2006

pretty uneventful day

what an exciting Saturday. It started with me sleeping about 10 hours, getting up, reading my People magazine, fell asleep on the couch to the sounds of Notre Dame football, woke up at like 6pm, realized I had pretty much wasted an entire day (and really wasn't all that upset about it), made some dinner, and now here I am, 11:30pm and as tired as I still am, I can't sleep. I blame it on the nap....or my freakin' allergies. I felt like crap all day. I know I need to take my prescription allergy medicine, Zyrtec, but it makes me feel drugged up for like the first two weeks I take it. I can't hardly function. Thats fine if I'm trying to sleep but not real cool when I'm trying to work. Or drive.

Ah, the joy of hanging out with toddlers.....

So, I went to my friend Val's little girls 2nd birthday party after work today. Let me tell you how entertaining it is to be around a bunch of 2, 3, and 4 year olds. Such good times. I had Carrie's little guy Reed (age 4) ask me if I wanted to come to his house. He also informed me that their puppy "took a huge pee" in the house today. He was cracking me up. Kept saying "you know what?" and talking a mile a minute. And the birthday girl really had no interest in anything birthday related. She walked off in the middle of opening her presents to go play on the playground. She DID sit for cake though. We tried to get Carrie's 7 year old son Parker to recite his Boy Scout pledge to us but he got all embarrassed and wouldn't do it. My friend Krista was there too with her 2 year old Hannah Grace. They were all just so freakin' cute. Two is a good age. They're hilarious. I had a really good time. And people, let me tell ya, Val's home made macaroni and cheese is quite possibly the best thing I have ever eaten in my life. Seriously. Seriously, I wanted to eat the whole crock pot full. I didn't. But I wanted to.

already lovin' Survivor: Cook Islands

Watched the season premiere of Survivor last night. Yep-I'm already hooked. Something about watching crazy people on TV appeals to me....

Wanna give a big birthday shout out to my girl Sarah who will be TWO! Sarah is my good friend Val's little girl. Her Blues Clues themed party is tonight. I'm sure it will be rockin' good times!

Don't really have much planned this weekend. As is typical of a non-pay week, money is limited and at this point I am conserving what I have for gas. It's sad, but true. I ain't complainin' though, I have all I need. Hope everyone has a great last weekend of summer!!!!!

Here's the pic I was telling you about

Horses have antlers and deer have horns

Ok, so last night J asked me if I wanted to ride with him to his new job site so he'd know where it is. I agreed, besides, there was nothing on TV (with only 2 channels, that's bound to happen, and besides, we were pissed off about Toby not winning Rockstar Supernova. It was a bunch of BS, I tell ya! Whatever Tommy Lee!!!). So, off we went down Hwy 44, cruisin' along, when all of a sudden, traffic came to a halt. A complete halt. I mean down-to-one-lane-halt. Our nice little 30 minute drive turned into a nearly TWO HOUR ordeal. In a word? It SUCKED. That is, until I started hallucinating people running alongside the road (I SWEAR I saw someone....). When you are sitting in traffic going 4 miles an hour (literally, we clocked it), you can either 1. get pissed off or 2. make the most of it and laugh. So......we laughed (mostly). The place we were looking for was in Wildwood, we were on some BFE country backroads, I tell ya. And it was dark. I think we were in the middle of some deer attack. We saw tons of them. And some of them had horns (ok, I know they are really antlers, but thats what I kept calling them). Then, we saw a road sign that said "watch for horses". Well I'm sorry, but thats funny. I peeled my eyes for any sudden horse movement from the side of the road. We didn't see any, thank God. After following some jacked up directions, we finally found the job site. The house is freakin HUGE. All the houses around were-would have been great to see them during the day. Anyway, our little adventure turned out to be pretty fun. I laughed till I cried at times. I think we were slap happy, at least I know I was, we didn't get back until nearly midnight and I was waaaay too wired to even think about sleeping. This is a problem when you have to get up at 6:30am. J-thanks for the good times.

never forget

11 years to the day we lost Grandma B. Still seems like yesterday. It's hard to imagine what things would be like if she was still here. I will always remember her sense of humor (for those that know me-I blame her for my sense of sarcasm because that's where I got it!!!). One of my favorite memories of her is the time she took my sister and I to the mall, we were probably 14 and 12 at the time. We went into a music store and the teenage boys behind the counter were talking and doing a lot of cursing. Well Grandma marched right up to them and informed them that their language was offensive and that they were NOT to talk like that in front of her granddaughters. Red and I, of course, were WAY embarrassed, but looking back now, it was pretty funny. I also liked when I would come over to visit her and Grandpa, before I left she would slip a $20 in my pocket. That rocked. If anyone wants to continue that tradition, just let me know! Thanks.
Yes, Grandma was awesome and is still very much missed. I know she would be proud of all of us. And yes, is probably sitting up in Heaven laughing at us because we are a bunch of nuts! I love you Grandma!

Is anyone else loving the new 101.1 radio station????

At first I was heartbroken that The River was gone. What? No more Steve and DC? What in the hell am I gonna listen to in the mornings on my drive to work? Well, I am happy to say that the new format is AWESOME. I mean, hello, I got to hear old school Bobby Brown, Madonna AND "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer all in the same day. How cool is that? It totally takes me back to high school and even junior high days (hello, "Cold Hearted" by Paula Abdul!!!). If you get the chance, tune in to 101.1 (that is, if you're in St. Louis). By the way, does anyone know if Steve and DC have been relocated to another station or are they gone forever???? Say it ain't so!

How dare they stop making Breck shampoo!!!!

Grandpa is upset. They stopped manufacturing his favorite shampoo that he has used for like 50 years. Its a travesty, I tell you. I got to hear all about this yesterday after church (I also got to hear about how his Schnucks no longer carries his favorite jelly, but that is a whole other story....). Lucky for Grandpa I am a cheapskate and have spotted his favorite shampoo at the always ritzy Dollar Tree. Yep, for a dollar a bottle, Grandpa's Brecks shampoo is still in stock. Heck, for that price I could get him a couple cases of the stuff. So, if anyone ventures out to Dollar Tree, pick up a bottle or two for Grandpa-he likes the "regular" formula-no dry or oily hair here! Also, if you happen to be in the jelly aisle at Schnucks, Grandpa is in need of Smuckers red plum jelly. It's a must have.

Had a pretty good weekend, not a whole lot to report. I made home made chili last night-it was way good, if I do say so myself. Went to brunch with my former co-worker Sue and her 3 year old. 3 year olds crack me up-they are just so funny at that age! I managed to get myself out of bed and went to church yesterday. It was just me and Grandpa in the back pew. There was this little kid in front of me counting like The Count on Sesame Street (you know "1 ah ha ha, 2 ah ha ha, 3 ah ha ha.....). His parents were way embarrassed because everyone within earshot was laughing. It was too cute.

So, this mornings drive to work was a bit stressful. It was POURING and you know how St. Louisans drive when it's raining. Pure chaos. I made it to my desk in one piece. I know you were concerned.

Happy Grandparent's Day!!!!!

I just wanted to wish a very happy Grandparent's Day to my wonderful grandpa! I love you very much PawPaw! Hopefully I get my butt up early tomorrow so I can go to church and see you!

Prayers and love to my baby cousin Ben

I know there is a post about this on the fam blog, but I also wanted to make note on my blog. My cousin Ben, who is in the Air Force, will be stationed in Qatar starting Monday, Sept 11 (irony on the date?). Now, I hear not a whole lot of dangerous stuff is going on in Qatar, nevertheless, I worry about Ben being over there (he is only 19 for God's sake!). Ben, be safe, know that your cousin loves ya and I am SOOOO glad you got to have your 21st birthday celebration before you left! :) Ha!

This show is AWESOME! Every week, glued to the TV screen, I tell ya! Anyone else watching it? My favorite is Toby. He rocks. You must watch-it ends next week, so make sure to watch Tue and Wed!

PMS rears it's ugly head

Yep-I'm cranky. And tired. And easily irritated. And cry easily. PMS is here-full force. NOT fun for anyone involved, especially those around me. I am sorry in advance for any pain and suffering I may cause in the next couple of days. Thank you.

Cafeteria on site at work=T-R-O-U-B-L-E

It's just not a good thing, having a cafeteria in the building I work in. Not only is it convenient and only 3 floors down, but it also has really good food. Restaurant quality. This could be bad. Let us all remember-I threw my fat pants away. There is no room for error here. This is going to require really, really strong will power. Today, I resisted the urge to get the cheese covered chicken enchiladas, or the buffalo chicken caesar salad. It was difficult-but I did it. Instead, I opted for a regular salad with plenty of fresh veggies (I draw the line at lite dressing, however) and Diet Coke. So far, so good. I must now resist the urge to go back down there and buy out all the rice crispy treats they have available......

Today is a holiday...and I didn't have to work...WHAT?

I didn't know what to do with myself. A holiday that I didn't have to work. I was confused for a minute, but quickly got over it. Too bad I spent the bulk of my weekend feeling like crap. Yep-those fall allergies have hit full force. I think I slept like 18 hours yesterday. No wonder my body wanted to get up at 7am this morning. I didn't let it, of course, that would be crazy! I had to bow out on doing Gabe's supervision this weekend-I swear I'll make it up to ya girl!

Well, hope everyone had a great Labor Day. I guess it isn't so much celebrating what Labor Day stands for (what does it stand for, anyway???), but more about getting together one last time before the weather cools down and fall begins. There was no family get together this year (what was up with that?). I didn't leave my apartment much but did have the joy of watching that Larry The Cable Guy movie......over, and over, and over again. Don't ask.

Now is time to wind down as I must be up by 7:00am to get to work in the morning. Tomorrow is my "late night". The whole "late night" concept at my new job still cracks me up as "late night" to them is working until 5:00 or 5:15pm. I LOVE it. After nearly 6 years of working until at least 11pm, I think I can handle 5:15 once a week....yea, I'm adjusting to this day shift thing just fine....

Happy birthday real quick to my friend Mike D and my friend Matt Harris (who just moved to Florida with his wife and is truly missed by everyone back in the STL!). Hope you boys both had a great birthday this weekend.

Also Happy Birthday to my cousin Jackie (Uncle Jimmy's daughter). Wow-is she freakin' 13? I can't even believe it, but it's true. My baby cousins are getting old. They're gonna catch up with me soon...

Happy One Year Anniversary to my blog!

My blog is officially one year old. Wow-who would have thought that I could come up with a whole year's worth of mindless, stupid crap? It was difficult, but I managed to do it. I ROCK. Here's to another fun filled year of me rambling, whining, bitching and babbling. Enjoy!

It's official-the "ber" months have begun!!!!

My favorite time of year has begun! Yay! I absolutely LOVE SeptemBER, OctoBER, NovemBER and DecemBER. Get it? The "ber" months? Ok...I thought it was funny. Anyway....along with the unofficial start of fall, I also have the ever fun seasonal allergies. They have come on full force this week. Right now I have been sneezing just by sitting in my living room, my head hurts, I'm congested. Good excuse to take Benadryl, if you ask me!

Went to happy hour tonight with the old crisis line crew. It was good to see the ladies. Was Maria drunk? I wasn't too sure, but she was laughing an awful lot... :) I hear that my old cubicle now houses pictures of Joey Lawrence and Corey Haim???? What the??? Stephen has lost his ever loving mind. As for the "robots or pirates" game-I'm going with pirates. Robots are kinda creepy.

Speaking of creepy-I was sitting in the living room just a little bit ago and the TV turned off by itself. The remote was sitting on the table-I didn't touch it. So, I'm just a little freaked out right now. I think either JoJo or Sparky did it.....

The new job is going well. I'm starting to "get it". Actually, today my trainer told me that I was "whizzing through" the work. I asked her if I should play stupid so I wouldn't have so much work to do....I tried to explain that I am used to doing about 100 things at the same time at work, so balancing a bunch of cases and trainings is not too hard to do. I know the job will get harder but for now, it's starting to make sense. My co-workers continue to be great. Today my boss bought our team pizza-that was way cool.

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend. I don't even know what to do with myself-I haven't had Labor Day off in like 6 years. Weird. I think I'll spend it sleeping or something productive like that. Adios people.
