Moving day.....again

I work for a very large managed behavioral healthcare company that shall remain nameless. You would think such a large company would at least do things that make some sort of sense. You'd think wrong.

Let me take you back to about a year and a half ago. There we were, housed in a building that the company OWNED, yet, they decided other divisions of our company needed that space, so they moved us....to the building across the street that we DON'T OWN to the tune of $50,000 a month rent. Yea, you heard me, 50 frickin thousand dollars a month. Tough landlord. So, we get all moved and whatnot only to find out shortly thereafter that the divisions of our company that were supposed to move into our old space decided to change things up and allow their staff to work from home. So.....here we are locked into a year long lease and the space we moved from? HAS BEEN SITTING EMPTY FOR THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF. True story.

So, where the story gets good is here: a couple of months ago they announced that we were moving, again...........BACK TO THE BUILDING WE CAME FROM. Are you effin kidding me? Same floor and everything. Seems a move that cost roughly $200,000 (not to mention the $50,000 a month rent) was a HUGE waste of money, huh? For those of you that have an insurance policy through us, I sincerely apologize. This is why your premiums are so high. So, on November 6, we must again pack up our crap and have the company spend $200,000 to move us. My only hope is that now that my team is half the size it was a year and a half ago (literally), I'm hoping I can finally sit by my girls Julie and Amy. They keep me sane.

Happy packing!

Hi KD, are you sure that company isn't run by the military?...lmao
So is your new old building better than your new new building or is the new new building better than the old building?....hehehehe

the new new building is craptastic-think decor and colors from 1976. The new old building is ok...better cafeteria but worse gym than the new new building. Good times. :)

You can't beat a good cafeteria that is a plus. That and plenty of restrooms, you can never had enough of those....lol

theres 2 bathrooms per floor which is a vast improvement over the current building-only ONE and can I just say that we have a LOT of women on my floor. i don't like waiting in line.

as for the cafeteria, i sure hope they still have chicken caesar salad Tuesdays! :)

Chicken caesar salad sounds good right now.
One bathroom is never good, it's like going to a big restaurant and they only have one stall....WTF is that all about, what if someone clogs it, then what?....lol
