That's how many degrees it was this morning. I mean, I knew it was gonna be fairly chilly, what I didn't know what that I'd have to have my effin winter coat on. Geez. No need to worry though, I warmed up as soon as I got to work because they have my office building at approximately 167 degrees. Crisis averted.

So, who watched the exciting Twins/Tigers playoff game last night? They ended the regular season in a tie so they had to have a playoff game to determine who was going to the post-season. The game was SO exciting! It went 12 innings (I think, I don't really remember, but it was a lot) and the Twins won it in the bottom of that inning. I loved seeing their celebration in front of nearly 50,000 fans. Granted, I don't really care about either team, but you couldn't help but get caught up in it. And the Twins catcher, Joe Mauer, is really cute. My mother scolded me on Facebook, telling me I should have been cheering for Detroit. I suppose since she lived there as a teenager she has some sort of loyalty to the city I like to call "Detoilet". I subsequently accused her of being a closet Red Wings fan. So there, mother! Now that the Twins are playing the effin Yankees, I will continue to cheer for the Twins. As for the other playoff match-ups, I will be rooting for the Angels over the Red Sox and in the National League, as I've been saying for months now, I'm totally on the Phillies bandwagon. I truly haven't decided how I want the Cards/Dodgers series to go. Part of me hopes the Cards lose in 3 straight just like my Cubbies did last year so everyone around me will STOP with the gloating (it's really not becoming). But the other part of me wants them to get to the next round, face the Phillies and THEN get their asses handed to them. It's really gonna piss me off if they make it to the World Series. Just sayin.

I'm in hockey mode anyway. Yes, I'll follow the baseball playoffs and probably watch a few of the games, but I'm definitely in Blues mode. Their first home game is tomorrow and I can't wait to watch it!

I now must get back to looking like I'm working. That, and trying to wake up. Always a challenge on a gloomy Wednesday morning. Happy Hump Day y'all!

heard a god awful song on Y98 this morning about the cardinals in the playoffs. (why the hell i was listening to that station i don't know. that guy phillips is dbag.) it sounded like a really bad cher song with all the voice manipulation. i hope the dodgers sweep the cards b/c i cannot stand the craptastic songs the radio stations here come up with.

Ern, this morning I heard Y98 playing all the songs that are played at Busch Stadium as the players come up to bat. Seriously, I don't care that Troy Glaus' song is "Crazy Train" by Ozzy nor do I care that Rick Ankiel's song is All Along the Watchtower. Rick Ankiel is not cool enough to have that as his song anyway. I do like Molina's song-some catchy hispanic number and I like Holliday's song-some country song-different from the norm.
It WAS funny though when they played Brendan Ryan's song (some Q-tip number-really?) and Guy Phillips said that he should have soft porn music instead d/t his porn stache. That made me laugh. But otherwise he's a dbag.

AWESOME GAME! For a few precious seconds after last night's game, I sat there with a smile on my face for the Twins fans...THEN the bitterness resumed and I muttered, "Must be nice to have a team that actually performs in the clutch." *sigh*

Good for them though. I guess. The Twins have made it to the playoffs a lot. I hate them. I hate everybody but the Cubs. I'm sorry, where was I? Oh yeah. GO DODGERS.

Right there with ya Jen. I, too, was so happy for the Twins but then remembered, MY team is playing golf right now. Boo hiss. And GFY Milton Bradley. Just because.
Good news is the sale of the Cubs has finally been approved-I firmly believe they need to get that out of the way and then they can concentrate on getting back to the playoffs. A Bradley-less team is a good team, IMO.

Cheer for Manny ladies, cheer for Manny!

GO MANNY!!!! (Shudder) I can't believe I just said that.

BTW, heard on the news last night that Brendan Ryan is up for some award for the best mustache of the year or something of that nature. I laughed my butt off. He's so not attractive and the stache does not help. How can he have the best mustache? (That was a good one by Guy Phillips, I must admit...but still a dbag...)

Ick. Let's not forget, Brendan Ryan is part of the Troll Trio, along with Ryan Ludwick and that Colby Rasmus kid. Yikes.
