Damn this all!
Ok, KD as you know I hate the Yankees and I am not a fan of Philly. Plus I don't like it when teams I dislike repeat. So I'm not liking my choices here, BUT I will go with Philly on this one, just because I don't want to see ARod get a WS ring.....so, LET'S GO PHILLIES!!!!!

Wise choice, Blue. Wise choice. Let us all join together in cheering AGAINST the Yankees. :)

GO PHILS!!! Anyone got any H1N1 they can spread around the Yankee clubhouse? (Just kidding. Maybe)

Hi JJ! :)

That sure would be terrible if everyone in the Yankees clubhouse got sick, huh? Just terrible.....

Hey KD, is the big city going gaga over McGwire being named the new batting coach?

Actually Blue, I'm hearing mixed review on McGwire. Some think it's the greatest thing to happen to STL since Albert Pujols, and others think it's a terrible idea, considering his lifetime BA was somewhere in the .260's and basically all he did was either hit homeruns or strike out. Oh yea, and there is that whole not admitting he did 'roids thing.....

Yeah, I think that it's a bad idea, it's not like he was a hitter ala Tony Gwynn.

Right. In the hitting coach lottery, I'd say the Cubs won. Wouldn't ya'll?

I would say the Cubs hit it big in signing Rudy J.

KD said...

Agreed. But he's got a big job ahead of him-turning around Soto and Soriano. :)

True dat, so hopefully they are at the local park as we speak working on their hitting mechanics.

So have we seen the last of BOBBY SCALES in a Cubs uniform?

"The Cubs opened up a second slot on their 40-man roster today, as they sent IF-OF Bobby Scales outright to AAA Iowa.
The 32-year old switch-hitter made his big league debut in 2009, hitting 242/312/411 in 51 games (138 PA) for the Cubs, while playing 2B, 3B, LF, and RF. Scales was acquired by the Cubs from Iowa on May 4th, after spending ten-plus seasons and playing 1,000+ games in the minor leagues with San Diego, Philadelphia, Boston, and the Cubs.

Scales did his best work for the Cubs coming off the bench, leading all MLB pinch-hitters (minimum 15 PA) in BA, SLG, and OPS in 2009, hitting 500/533/1.204 with 2 HR & 5 RBI, two doubles, and a triple, as a PH.

The University of Michigan alum is eligible to be a Rule 55 Minor League FA, which means he will be free to sign with another organization when the MLB Free-Agent Filing Period ends 15 days after the conclusion of the World Series, unless he opts to sign a 2010 minor league contract with the Cubs."

You know, I hope the Cubs let Bobby Scales go, I'd bet some team will want him and maybe he'll get more big league playing time. I mean, the guys like 32 for God's sake! He's scrappy, would be a good bench player for someone.

As much as I would hate to see him go, he is better off going. He deserves to find a team that will keep him up in the majors. He's proven himself already as far as I'm concerned, so hopefully a team saw him play and will offer him a full time gig in the bigs.

I agree Blue. I really like Bobby Scales but maybe he can get a chance somewhere else. And as much as I hate to say it, I think the same thing about Jake Fox. I would HATE to lose him as a hitter, but he just has no permanent place in the lineup. He would be a PERFECT DH guy. For his sake, I hope he gets a chance to play regularly somewhere. I guess we'll see, huh?

Bobby and Jake are very deserving of getting a chance to play fulltime, I would hate to lose them both, but for it would be better for them to live their MLB dreams on another team if the chance arises.
