Congrats to Carlos Marmol, who is now the Cubs all-time leader for strikeouts by a reliever

So sorry Bruce Sutter, but records are made to be broken. And Marm is pretty much erasing your glory.

Carlos Marmol tied, then surpassed Bruce Sutter's Cubs all-time record for strikeouts by a reliever on Saturday. The record was 129.....Marm is now at 131. With a week of baseball left.

Marm has very quietly had a pretty damn good season. 34 (or is it 35? I lost track) saves, 131 strikeouts. Just think, if his team were actually good, he might have 50 saves. Still, 34 on a suck ass team isn't so bad. If Marm could ever learn how to not hit batters or walk batters, for real his stuff could have him in Mariano Rivera territory. That slider is FILTHY. I'm just sayin.

Damn, I think he would have shattered Sutters record like a cheap bat if not for our no winning ways. Let's hope he can top it next season.

I'd like to believe that Marm is only going to get better. He's still a young guy and if he can just get better control, he's gonna be scary. For the other teams. I mean seriously, when he is on, his pitching is a thing of beauty.

Just the mention of sliders makes me want to eat a burger, dang, I'm hungry.
Marm is hella scary when he's got it going on, imagine what Mad Dog could do with him, fine tune him and give him some tips, man, he would be the next Mariano huh?
