Think they'll hassle the Hoff in Japan?

It's the end of an era....ok, maybe not an "era" so much as it is "the end of a lifelong minor league career". Yes, Cubs AAA and sometimes big club player Micah Hoffpauir has decided to go play in Japan...you know, where mediocre MLB players go when they are out of options. Like Micah. Does anyone else find it freakin hilarious that the name of his new team is the Ham Fighters? Anyone? Hello? Is this thing on?

Best of luck to Hoff....he's still hot and for that, I will miss him. For his like .150 average, I will not miss him.

Now begs the ever present question-who will be the Cubs first baseman next season? The rumors are still swirling that super hottie (and future All-Star, just sayin) Tyler Colvin may fit the bill. I'm not so sure that's the best idea. Tyler is a GREAT outfielder. He's got a good, strong arm, I'd had to see that go to waste at first base. I mean, let's face it, first base is probably the position that requires the least amount of athleticism, right? I mean, sure, periodically you need to be able to do the splits when you receive a wild throw from Aramis Ramirez and, yes, you need to be able to throw to third, but really, other than being able to catch a ball, that's about your only job requirement. Right?

Here's what I want to see happen-get rid of Fukudome. I'm sure he's a very nice guy and his little Japanese baby was really cute, but seriously? He gotsta go. The Cubs will probably have to eat some of his horrendously high salary (another Jim Hendry special!), but get rid of him. He serves no purpose. For reals.

Good luck to the Hoff.
As for 1st base, I think we should go for Adam Dunn, he's ok at first, but best of all he has power, someting we lacked big time....sign the Dunn.
