OMG. Just when you think the "stars" they find for this show can't get any worse....it does. Bristol Palin? Really, ABC? I'm sure she's excited because she can finally lose the baby weight. Ooooops, did I just say that? Sorry.
Here's who I am excited to see.....Kurt Warner. LOVE HIM! Ever since his days as the quarterback of my beloved Rams, I have liked Kurt Warner. It kinda cracks me up that he decided to do DWTS. Can't wait to see his wife Brenda's latest hairdo (don't F with her-she's a former Marine, people!).
Let's go down the list of contenders for this season:
1. MICHAEL BOLTON. Um....really? Does someone need a career boost? What has this guy done lately?
2. BRANDY-ever since she was involved in that fatal car accident, we haven't heard too much from her. I always thought her singing sucked, but that's just me.
3. MARGARET CHO-this comedienne is pretty damn funny. My hunch is that she won't be the greatest dancer, however.
4. RICK FOX-former basketball player, used to be married to Vanessa Williams and is pretty damn hot. Let's hope there's some shirtless numbers.
5. JENNIFER GREY-cue the Dirty Dancing "nobody puts Baby in a corner" references now.....
6. DAVID HASSELHOFF-this could be the greatest thing EVER. The Hoff? Hells yes. There is no bigger trainwreck. Hope no one in Germany is voting, cuz if so, he's a shoo-in.
7. FLORENCE HENDERSON-Yes, Carol Brady will be the token old person for this season. I think she's roughly 94 years old. Not quite Cloris Leachman territory, but close.
8. KYLE MASSEY-I have never heard of him. Next.
9. BRISTOL PALIN-we've already discussed her. I hope she gets voted off sooner rather than later. I'd rather see her skanktastic baby daddy on this show. At least he's entertaining.
10. AUDRINA PATRIDGE-really, ABC? The Hills is over, why do we still have to see these people on TV? Audrina will get votes because she has fake boobs and is considered hot by menfolk everywhere.
11. THE SITUATION-I don't care what his real name is, why is this douchebag on this show? Does the world not get enough of him on Jersey Shore? I'll bet $100 bucks he's near shirtless in every episode. I'm already bored.
12. KURT WARNER-Love, love, love! I'm already voting for him to win.
My only concern is whether or not Maksim will still be on the show. He is reason enough to watch. You know, because he's super hot.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANUCK!
I would like to wish my favorite Canadian a very happy birthday today. I'm not allowed to make fun of his age because he never hesitates to remind me that I am older than him. A-hole. I say that with much love and respect. No, really.
What else is going on? Folks, further signs that the world is about to end are appearing. Last night the Rams, yes, the St. Louis Rams, beat the Patriots. They've now won TWO games. Now, I realize it's just pre-season, but it's exciting nonetheless. Do you realize that in the last THREE seasons they have won six games......total??? That is worse than any Cubs season. For reals.
Um....let me tell you what it's like to live in Cardinal Nation right now. Remember how earlier in the year I was angry, depressed, bitter and pissed about the Cubs sucking so much ass? Well, welcome to St. Louis right now. I'm hearing statements such as "I'm never watching them again", "they suck", and "I hate them". People are moping around, sad, dejected, lost. Sound familiar Cubs fans? I know I've said and done all of those things at some point this season. Now, the Cards have essentially lost their shot at winning the division (although the Cubbies could help them out this weekend seeing as they're playing the Reds and all.....), but they are still only 1.5 back for the Wild Card and, really, does it matter how you get in? I think not.
I've got many options for weekend plans but I think I'm gonna go with my #1 choice...and that is, doing nothing. The thought of getting to sleep in tomorrow is what got me out of bed this morning. Feeling sinusy and headachy (ever since my Wednesday 4 mile jog, inhaling allergens is probably not the best thing for a girl whose allergy doc says is "severely allergic". Anyhoo....), I dragged myself out of bed, remembered it was Friday and gathered the strength to carry on. Two Diet Dr Peppers and several Advils later and I'm doing ok.
Work is serving us various desserts today, so, that's cool. I've enjoyed mental health worker appreciation week. We got the greatest gift of ALL TIME yesterday. There is a running joke in my office that you have to give up your first born child in order to get some office supplies. Seriously, you'd think the world's supply of staples is running out the way they ration them out. And post-its? Forget it. And who do I have to sleep with to get a hi-lighter around here? Geez. Well, yesterday, we all received this lovely little package containing: TWO hi-lighters (holla!), some pens with the company logo, some post-its, and.....the very best thing....OUR OWN BOX OF STAPLES. Really, they could have next told us we were all fired and we still would have been excited by this gift. In fact, I'm gonna lock my desk drawer so no one tries to steal my prized box of staples. Hands off!
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Can you believe it's almost September? WTF?

3-0
The Cubs are undefeated since Lou left. At this rate, they may only finish 10, 15 games under .500 instead of the 20 where they are currently. Dare to dream, folks. Dare to dream.
In all seriousness, I was happy to see that, at least for these three games, the Cubs actually looked like a REAL team. Great starting pitching, great run production from things other than home runs (ok, maybe "great" is a bit strong...). The bullpen is still a bit suspect, what with the average age down there being like 17, and Marm being ever the unpredictable one, but overall, they've looked good since Q took over. I like his style-he's sassy and does what he wants, even if it isn't the popular choice-like taking Dempster out last night (who pitched an EXCELLENT game!) for a pinch hitter. Demp was pissed, but guess what? That pinch hitter (the very hot-in many ways-Tyler Colvin), drew a walk, stole 2nd and scored the game's first run on Darlin Starlin's double, so......the unpopular move paid off. At least this time.
This weekend they take on the Reds. The dirty Reds. The dirty first place Reds. I'd LOVE for the Cubs to play spoiler. Just sayin. I strongly dislike you, Joey Votto. I want to punch you in your smug little face and I think I could because I think you're the same height as me. Watch your back.
GO TEAM Q!

Today is a good day
I love being served. Lunch, that is.
Did y'all know it's Mental Health Worker Appreciation Week? Me neither, until I walked in to the office Monday and saw balloons in everyone's cubicles. Balloons are fun and all (as were the recyclable bags with the company logo we got yesterday) but they don't top.....free food. And being served said food. By your supervisor.
So, all the supervisors are serving us lunch today.....dressed like either waitresses or lunch ladies. It's pretty hysterical. Some even have name tags. The lunch is yummy too-various pastas, salad and bread from Cecil Whitakers.
I'm gonna need a nap now because of all the carbs I just consumed.
I hear we're getting a variety of desserts on Friday. Me likey.

Another reason to hate the Cubs II
Ted Lilly is now 5-0 with a 1.84 ERA. Not that I'm counting, or anything.
In other news, the world is about to end because the Cubs have won TWO in a row. Oh.My.God.
Also in other news, Tyler Colvin hit a homerun last night. I heart him.
That is all.

Another reason to hate the Cubs
Since trading our hero, Theodore Roosevelt Lilly III, to the Dodgers, Ted has gone 4-0 with a 1.29 ERA. 1.29 people!!!!
Yet another stellar trade made by the Cubs organization. While Blake DeWitt has been pretty good since coming over to the Cubs, he in no way compares to what Ted is doing over there on the West Coast.
SIGH.

Tyler Colvin is your new first baseman, Cubs fans. Brilliant idea or disaster waiting to happen? You make the call.
Those of you that read this blog know that I LOVE Tyler Colvin. And not just because he's a hot little thang (I'm proud of my cougar status, thank you very much!) but because I truly believe he is going to be a major star in Major League Baseball. He will.
So, it pains me to say that I have mixed feelings about the Cubs trying to turn him into a first baseman. This season is a wash, so you may as well experiment and see what might work for next season, right? Colvin has not played first base since his sophomore year of college...that sounds like it may have been a lot time ago but think about it, you're what, 20 during your sophomore year? Well, Colvin is only 24 now, so perhaps it'll be like riding a bike? The good news is, he takes his job very seriously. He's out there practicing and working hard to make himself a major league caliber player. He has his old glove from college (how cute is that?). He says he's ready to go today. I believe him.
I just hope that this isn't a mistake on the Cubs part (they've made many, as we all know). He was a more than adequate outfielder and was just starting to get comfortable out there. Now you're putting him in a totally different position that requires a totally different mindset. The good news is, at 6'4", he's only slightly shorter than D Lee, who was infamous for saving many an errant throw solely because of his height. True story.
I truly hope this is a Cubs experiment that works. Not only for young Mr. Colvin and the Cubs but for us female fans. As I pointed out on Cubblogging last week, if Tyler Colvin becomes the first baseman, just think of all the ass shots ladies!!! You're welcome.

Thanks for the memories, Sweet Lou!
Yesterday, after that horrendous game, Cubs manager Lou Piniella officially retired from the game of baseball. A game in which he was involved either as a player, manager or announcer for nearly 50 years. It's been real, Lou. Now, Lou was gonna retire at the end of the season anyway as we all know, however, his departure was sped up by the ailing health of his mother (who must be pretty old given Lou is 66 and all). I wish Mama Piniella the best and am actually kinda misty-eyed that no matter how old you are, you still want to take care of your mama when she needs you.
Watching the beginning of the game when Lou shook hands with Bobby Cox (also retiring at the end of the season) and when he waved to the crowd, I did indeed get teary-eyed. The end of an era. I realized then how much I'll miss Sweet Lou. Sure, I've had my moments where I blamed my Cubs woes on him and his lack of caring. Now I see that that "lack of caring" was more than likely worry about things outside of baseball. Can't fault a man for that.
God only knows who the next Cubs manager will be or as I like to call him, then next Poor Bastard who "gets" to manage this team. Whomever it is will have their work cut out for them, that's for sure.
Happy Retirement Lou. I wish you well. Don't be a stranger. Peace.

Things have gone out of control
Ok, so yesterday at work I get an IM from my friend Robin saying I needed to go meet Paul and Clara. "Who the hell are Paul and Clara?" I asked. I was told that if I just walked over by the elevators I would get my answer. So, I grabbed my friend Julie and made her go with me. As we approached the elevators, I turned left and Julie says from behind me "I think that's what she's talking about"....I turned around and jumped and my heart started racing because, there before us were giant human-sized cutouts of two old people. Paul and Clara. Seems Paul and Clara were representing one of the Medicare products we manage here at work. Why we needed the life-size cutouts, I'm not sure. Needless to say, Paul and Clara were the talk of the office all day....and evening as we chatted about them on Facebook. And, yes, before you even ask, yours truly did indeed pose for a picture with them. See below:
So, imagine my surprise when I arrived at work this morning to find two giant human-sized cutouts of our new friends Paula and Clarence (AKA Orlando Bloom and Christina Aguilera) at the end of my row. Hi-lar-i-ous. See below:
You'd think we have nothing better to do at work (believe you me, we have PLENTY of work to do), but this has been fun. And a welcome distraction from our typical stressful day.
Happy Friday everyone!

No more Subway before bed
Listen up folks, this is a PSA.
KD does not recommend eating Subway close to bedtime. Why? Because I had some really, really, effed up dreams last night.....and I rarely dream (that I remember).
Dream #1 entailed me discovering that my dear friend Amy is, in fact, schizophrenic. In the dream, I was very concerned about whether or not she was taking her meds and I was monitoring her psychosis carefully. Because, you know, that's what friends do.
Dream #2 entailed me parking my car along some street and disappearing for awhile (I think I may have been at the beach). When I returned to my car, I find a big note on the front with a bill for several hundred dollars from some local garage. Also by the note was a police report indicating my car had been stolen but returned with several parts missing. The police note also called the thieves "assholes". So, apparently this local garage found my poor beat up car and fixed it without my permission and then billed me for it. Sounds about right.
Does anyone want to even try to interpret those for their true meaning? Yea....I didn't think so.

SIGH
SIGH. I seem to sigh a lot this baseball season and just when I think I'm done, the Cubs do something to break my heart again. Sure, I've accepted the fact that they're 20 games under .500 (and by "accepted" I mean "the thought of it makes me want to punch kittens"...no worries kitty lovers, I will not do so).
So, yesterday, the Cubs traded Derrek Lee to the Braves and in return, got some low level pitching prospects that we'll probably never hear of again. Now, I can't blame D Lee in the least for waiving his no-trade clause and getting the hell outta dodge....I'd have done the same thing. But first Ted Lilly, and now another one of my favorites is gone. Good thing we still have Rami (but for how long?). The lineup they throw out to play on a daily basis is now about 90% rookie. Unheard of names like Darwin Barney (who's actually a white guy-who knew?) and Casey Coleman (is his name Casey? I'm not actually sure)....and some Mateo guy. Who ARE these people?
I'll miss Derrek Lee. He's one of the few guys that I've heard is an even better human being than baseball player. When a player has been with a team for 7 years like D Lee has, it sort of starts to feel like a family-granted a really dysfuctional one, but still. We all grieved when we heard about D Lee's little girl having that eye disease and losing her sight, and we also embraced him when he became a Cub, even though he had just won a WS ring with the Fish and was always a Cub killer. He's one of the few good ones left. I'm happy for him-he now has an opportunity to make it to the post season, something he would not have the opportunity to do if he were to stay on the Cubs. He's not getting any younger, you know (sadly, he is my age, but that's old in professional sports). Good bye D Lee, we will miss you. I hope to God Cubs fans cheer for him tomorrow....as the Braves invade Wrigley. How weird will that be to see him at Wrigley wearing a Braves uni?
I totally skipped over Mike Fontenot getting traded last week. Prolly cuz I don't really care.
It is mind boggling to believe that this is the team that just TWO years ago, won the NL central and made it to the playoffs for the second year in a row (let's not even mention their playoff record, mmmmkay?). This team has gone from hero to zero at a record pace. Yep, sounds like the Chicago Cubs, doesn't it? SIGH.
Some of the rookies give me a bit of hope for the future-Starlin Castro and Tyler Colvin come to mind. Time will tell if they'll just break my heart too.
Wanna know the saddest part? I will most likely continue being a Cubs fan. SIGH indeed.

Return from vacay
Greetings folks! KD here, and I've returned from vacation eager to get back to the real world. And by "eager", I really mean "not at all eager".
So, the trip was good, I'll try to keep this post short and to the point. No longer than 20-25 paragraphs tops.
We left at close to our targeted time last Friday and things did not start well. Thanks to not one but TWO tractor trailers on fire, it took us an hour to get out of St. Louis. My dad was calling other drivers "buttheads" and declaring vacation officially over. Once out of that mess, it was fairly smooth sailing....until the crying began. My poor little niece cried for HOURS, including all night long in the hotel we stopped at somewhere in BFE Tennessee. After a trip to a Myrtle Beach Urgent Care a couple of days later we would discover the poor little munchkin was sick, but once we got some antibiotics in her, she was a different kid-happy and, well, wild.
Like all good vacations, ours had no particular agenda. There were hours spent lounging on the beach and watching miss Kendall play in the sand-one of her favorite games was to gather a handful of sand and put it on us...or in our chairs if we happened to get up. Kiddo laughed and laughed at this little game. It was good times. We did a lot of cooking in (ok, my mom cooked...but we all helped clean up and stuff), and drinking of Bud Lite Lime....and I made a mean sweet tea vodka and lemonade drink-I'm fairly certain my dad got buzzed off of one. We are not a drinking people.
One of my favorite moments was the night my brother, sister, brother-in-law and I decided to play the Dog the Bounty Hunter drinking game. Every time they either showed Leland, said "Baby Lisa", or said the words "wedding" or "reception", we had to drink....and drink we did. I won't even mention my sister eating Doritos off the floor...oh wait, I just did. :) It was such a fun night and after six beers in a rapid amount of time, I suddenly decided it was time for bed, got up and left and to bed I went.
We had professional family portraits taken on Wednesday night. The mix of my hair, humidity and the sea is not a good one, but I went ahead and straightened my hair anyway......mistake. My sister and I both had product in our hair in the hopes that the frizzies would stay away, but sadly, they did not. I guess the only good news is is that it was really windy that day, so we all had the wind blown look going on.....can't wait to see how those pics turned out. Yikes.
Entertaining a 16 month old was priority #1 for everyone....so one day we went to this skanktastic zoo and another day we went to the aquarium (which was cool, but pricey-$20 a person). Kendall loved it though, never mind the incident where she smacked another kid while going down a slide.......I'd show you all pics but my home computer has decided to die. Perhaps I'll go to my parents in a couple of weeks and try to upload some pics then. My sibs and I also went and saw that new Will Ferrell movie "The Other Guys" while in SC----it was HILARIOUS! Side note-St. Louis won some contest to have one of the red carpet premieres for this movie be here. Right before I left town, my friend Michele (you know her as Harry Caray's daughter) got a phone call from a local radio station asking her to walk the red carpet with Will Ferrell...you know, because he is infamous for his Harry Caray impression. So, Michele made an urgent appointment with her hair dresser (I mean, duh!) and attended the red carpet event. She got Will Ferrell to do his impression of her dad (she says Will is one of the nicest people she's ever met. Mark Walberg? Not so much. And he's short, apparently.) and the next day there was an article about her on stltoday.com and they were talking about it on the local radio station. I'm now teasing Michele that she is a local celebrity. She just laughs. :)
Anyway, back to the trip. I know I talk about Kendall a lot, but, well, she's fascinating. I just love watching her learn new things and trying to understand how her little mind works. She apparently became quite vocal this past week. We heard her say "paw paw" (which you know my dad LOVED), and she can tell us what a dog says ("oof"), what a monkey says ("oo oo ah ah") and what a cow says ("moo", of course). She also got all of us to sing many, many, MANY rounds of "Row row row your boat", her version goes a little like this-woah woah woah woah....gibberish, gibberish......meri...gibberish.....YAY! (with clapping). She also got us to sing Itsty Bitsy Spider while she did the hand motions (SO cute). She said hi and bye to EVERY plane and helicopter that flew by and waved to nearly every person that walked by. One night we walked the boardwalk and came across a one man band (he was actually pretty good) and miss Kendall started shakin her thang out there on the boardwalk, cracking us all up....and getting us to join her. So much fun! I have an awesome video I took of her trying to get her to eat her vegetables....she cocks her head and gives you this big grin as if to say "aunt Kerri, see how cute I am? I don't need to eat my veggies...". How can I resist that????
On Friday, our last night, we went out to dinner at this great place, Liberty, which is located in this way cool area known as Boardwalk by the Beach (this area has lots of cool shops, restaurants, a carnival area for kiddos and the aquarium). The dinner was great (including fried pickles-YUM!), and Kendall was entertaining as usual. Saturday morning we were up early enough to see the sunrise over the ocean (pretty cool) and then began our trek back home. We made it to somewhere in Kentucky before deciding to call it a night and continued the trek on Sunday morning.
I started my return to the real world by walking into the gates of hell (aka, my job), worked late on Monday night and realized.....vacation is over and I now have to be back to the daily grind. Icky.

Icky.

THIS is why we refer to Ted Lilly as a BAMF
This is an article from the Chicago Sun-Times, detailing how much Ryan Dempster misses his buddy, Ted (we all do Demp, we all do). Please make sure to read the line I've highlighted in bold:
"With Teddy, I always appreciated him every day for what a teammate he was and what a competitor he was, probably more than anything,” Dempster (9-8) said after six muggy innings without allowing an earned run to beat the Milwaukee Brewers and end the Cubs’ seven-game losing streak.
”I always thought I was the most competitive person out there. I never thought I’d find anybody more competitive until I met him.”
Lilly, who won his debut Tuesday for the Los Angeles Dodgers, famously ran over St.Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina to score a key run in the Cubs’ stretch drive in 2008, stole a base sliding head-first in a minor-league rehab start early this season and once attacked a pit bull barehanded to rescue his wife’s dog.
”I know they got somebody pretty special over there, and hopefully someday down the road, I’ll have the chance to play with him again,” Dempster said, ”because you don’t find too many guys like that out there.” CHICAGO SUN-TIMES.
Ted Lilly is freakin Chuck Norris!

Beaches and beverages
Folks, this time tomorrow I will be getting ready to head to beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC. Granted, I've never been there, so I don't actually know if it's beautiful, but I assume it is.
Yes, the fam and I are embarking on a 15-ish hour road trip in the morning. Now, you may be saying to yourself "gee, isn't that kinda sad for a single 34 year old woman to be going on vacation with her family?". And my answer to that is.....................no. Unlike a lot of people in the world, I actually like my family and can't wait to spend the week with them! Bonus: an entire week with my niece??? SOLD. Yep, it'll be me, my parents, my brother, my sister and brother-in-law, and my adorable niece. That is a recipe for fun right there.
I just have to get through a 12.5 hour workday today (ick) but then I'm off until August 16. Yes, TEN days from now. Thank you little baby Jesus. I'm packed for the most part (packing for 10 days is awfully hard. I mean, your shoe options alone are overwhelming.....) and am bringing the most important thing......the booze. I mean...hello, it's vacation! I decided on a cocktail that we could all enjoy (except, of course, for the baby. We'll wait until she's around 16 before introducing her to that...I kid! I kid!). In my possession, I have a giant bottle of sweet tea vodka that we will mix with lemonade. Trust me, it's delightful. Now hopefully we won't have a repeat of the incident a few years ago when my mama had like two pina coladas and we had to help her up the stairs (my family doesn't drink much-myself included-so we're not good drunks). Oh, I am so excited! My sis came up with the great idea of having a sibs night out while there-you know, leave the baby with the grandparents and then we go out and parrrrrrrtay! My sibs and my brother-in-law are some of my favoritest people, I'm sure the four of us will have a fab time...and find some trouble to get into.
Tomorrow will be the first leg of the trip-yes, we are driving. Considering you need a U-haul just for the baby's stuff, we will be taking two cars. Our goal is to get about halfway there tomorrow and stop for the night. Between the baby and my father needing feedings every couple of hours, it will most likely be an, um, long day. And I'll love every minute of it.
I've burned some roadtrip CD's (because you know, when you're going through some of those hillbilly states, there's not much on the radio), including some "oldies" for my parents to listen to (it's a travesty that my mom let her satellite radio subscription expire...). I'm fully prepared to have Puffs and/or sippy cups thrown at my head (little Kendall has her ways of letting you know she needs something. Good thing she's cute.....). And I'm also fully prepared to have to listen to......kids music. Yes, my dear friend Julie was kind enough to burn some children's songs CD's for us to play for Kendall. Can't wait to hear Mickey and Friends rockin out.....
There will be no blogging this week, no Cubs watching, no stress, hopefully no worries. I will, however, most likely be posting things on Facebook-you know, my dad's crazy quotes (he's almost as funny as Grandpa. Although he's never claimed to be half African American like Grandpa did last weekend....), and updates about what we're doing. I fully expect that by the time I come back on 8/16, the Cubs will have overpowered the Pirates for last place in the NL Central, the most recent Bachelorette will have already broken up with her "soulmate" and that world peace will have been achieved. Don't let me down.
Adios!

It's gettin hot in herrrrre!
Yes, I stole that line from St. Louis' own, Nelly.....who performed here last week with Chuck Berry. What the??????
Anyway, folks it is effin hot here in the STL. Yowza. Yesterday topped out at 102 degrees with a heat index of 112-115 (damn humidity!). Today is supposed to be 101 with the same for heat index. Yuck. I think I got sick from the heat yesterday just simply walking to my car. No kidding. My entire drive home, I had wave after wave of nausea go through me. And, when I got home, let's just say that what I ate that day came back to visit me. Just sayin. Very odd. I spent the entire evening feeling like crap and went to bed before 9pm. Today, however, I feel fine. Good times. It may have been the Cubs Suck Flu. I'm not sure.
I'd like to publicly apologize to the Cardinals. Ever since I declared I'd be rooting for them to win the NL Central they have played like, well, the Cubs (hey Cards, only the Cubs give up 18 runs in one game, not you!). I am sorry Cards fans. Today I'm officially rooting for the Reds. See my reverse psychology there? Whatever team I root for loses. So, um..........go Scott Rolen and Dusty Baker and that stubby little Canadian Votto. Man, that felt dirty.

This pic almost made me cry:
'nuff said
NL Central Standings:
Cincinatti
St. Louis: 0.5 back
Milwaukee: 11 back
Houston: 13 back
Chicago: 13.5 back
Pittsburgh: 23 back
Um, Cubs fans, our team is in 5th place. As in second to last. As in, the worst they've been since 2006. Let the binge drinking begin.............now.

In mourning....and an open letter for a**holes out there
First of all to all the a**holes out there making fun of Carlos Silva for leaving yesterday's game, let me say this: he has a f**king heart problem, you heartless bastards!!!! He had to spend the night in the hospital for God's sake and you still take this opportunity to make fun of him and the Cubs? That's a new low, people. A new low. And so completely rude I can't even wrap my mind around it. You know, I'm not super excited about my Cubbies this year, but I would never, EVER, make fun of someone because they are having a health issue. Even if it was the player I hated most in the world, I'd never wish physical harm/pain on them. Some people are so classless.........and it makes me sick. I'll not give these a**holes any more attention.
Now, for the mourning. As we're all aware of by now, my beloved Ted Lilly was traded to the Dodgers on Saturday, along with Ryan Theriot (he was like the bonus prize, or something). My immediate thought was this-if the Cubs get rid of all the players I like, then I will no longer have a reason to watch them. Good thing Aramis "ouch my thumb hurts" Ramirez, Tyler "hottie" Colvin, Sean "tall dark and sexy" Marshall and Starlin "not old enough to drink legally" Castro are still on the team. I'll admit, I was totally bummed on Saturday when the trade became official. I mean, I knew it was going to happen, I just thought that maybe they'd forget all about it and Teddy Baseball would stay on the Cubs. But it wasn't to be. Now, sure, I'll learn to embrace our new guy, Blake DeWitt, who made quite the first impression yesterday with three hits, but it's gonna take some time. As my brother pointed out, he IS from Missouri (Sikeston to be exact-home of Lambert's and the throwed rolls!) and I do love all players from Missouri (except for Mark Buehrle. That guy irks me for some reason).
I do wish Ted well. And I guess I'm glad he's on a decent team who has at least some chance of making the post season. But I will miss him and his badassness. I'm so glad I got to see Ted pitch in a game this season at Wrigley (the game that Casey Blake accused him of cheating....wonder how that relationship is going now)-ironic that I watched him pitch against his future team, huh? I'm not that broken up about Theriot, although I wish him the best. I am pretty much done with Cubs baseball for the season. Sure, I may catch a game or two here and there to see pretty boy Tyler Colvin, but I've accepted the season for what it is. Over.
