How is it that you can be excited and pissed off at the same time? Well, let me first start with the one thing that pisses me off-that would be MY JOB. Ugh, the big change happens Thursday. I'm anticipating it being hell on Earth, that may sound like I'm being pessimistic, but I prefer to call it realistic. It's gonna suck. In preparation, half my team is off today so this is a particularly sucky Monday at 19 mother effin' cases. Remember a FULL caseload is 12. So...you can imagine how much 19 sucks ass. I expect it to hit the mid-20's on Thursday. Kill me, kill me now.
Enough of that ickiness, let's move on to the good stuff, shall we? I'm in official countdown mode, not only for the return of MLB baseball, but more importantly, my sis, bro-in-law and niece will officially be St. Louis residents on SATURDAY!!!! WOO HOOOOOOO!!!!! I am so beyond happy that they're coming home. Aunt Kerri is gonna go broke having that little munchkin so close by...and I don't even care. My parents are heading down to Texas on Wednesday to help them finish packing up. They will start their trek home on Friday and will officially be here on Saturday. That is for reals the greatest thing EVER! That, and it's Easter weekend, so my whole family will be together for church on Sunday (except for my bro who now has a job....on weekends only). This is Kendall's 2nd official Easter-she came home from the hospital on Easter Sunday last year. Easter is quickly becoming my favorite "holiday". :) I put together an Easter basket for the kiddo-something tells me Kendall Alyson is about to have a good week. Not only is she moving to St. Louis where she'll be surrounded by family, but she's gonna be bombarded with Easter treats AND.....her first birthday is next week on April 8. I think she should be nominated for Best Week Ever. I can tell you, my dining room looks like Toys-R-Us threw up. I can't help it-she's my only niece, she can pretty much have whatever she wants.
I'm also excited about the start of the MLB season-ONE WEEK from today people! One week! I'm actually excited for the Cubs season because.....there are no expectations. No pressure. The Cardinals are the NL Central favorite, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Let them have all the pressure and media spotlight. Let my Cubbies just play some baseball. Right? I am so, so, so excited that Tyler Colvin made the team. I expect great things from this kid. I mean, he batted like .400 or something in Spring Training and has been nothing short of amazing. I watched the Cubs game on Saturday and he was a double shy of hitting for the cycle. Me likey a lot. There is only one roster spot left and while my hormones hope it belongs to Micah Hoffpauir, I'm not so sure it will be. There are four battling for that spot and I suspect it's gonna be either Chad Tracy or Kevin Millar-who is old, but apparently a good influence in the clubhouse. That, and he organized Cubs Idol (a fun way to haze the rookies). Good times.
Yes, lots of things to be excited about.....one big thing to be pissed off about. I'm gonna do my best to focus on the good. Either that, or I may start drinking. A lot.

Slumber parties and pillow fights
The mother effin' weekend is FINALLY here. Is it just me, or was this a long freakin week? Actually, next week promises to be worse. Much worse. I'm expecting the worst and hoping for the best. Yes, next week is when all the changes happen at work. Yuck. I'm still working on a believable excuse to call in sick next Thursday (my leg fell off? I'm hung over? I died?).
And in things that make me want to kill myself: I find myself actually liking that Train song "Hey Soul Sister". It makes me want to vomit to admit that, but they do say that admitting the problem is the first step to recovery, so.........
Love, love, LOVE the new Michael Buble album. Not usually my kind of music, but I dig it. Probably doesn't hurt that he's not ugly.
What is everyone up to this weekend? The NCAA Midwest Regional is here in the STL this weekend....TN, Ohio State, Michigan State and someone else I can't remember right now are here. I'm pulling for TN tonight but it'll be tough, Ohio State is pretty good. One of my hospital contacts in TN tells me there is a player on that team nicknamed Weezy. Sounds about right. I got a death threat this morning from one of my hospital contacts in Memphis-first of all they are anti Tennessee Volunteers on the western side of the state, but even more so, they hate Kentucky. So, when I mentioned that's who I picked to win it all, let's just say the reaction was not pretty. Bummed that Syracuse lost last night but 3 of my 4 teams that played last night are still in. I shoulda bet money.
I'm actually going to a slumber party tonight. Yea, that's right, a slumber party. An all girls slumber party. Jealous? It's gonna be super fun-me and some friends are gonna hang out, eat food that's bad for us, drink cosmos and watch Sex and the City-the movie. Yay!
Someone told me I looked skinny today. TOTALLY made my day. Holla!

Milton Bradley has dubbed himself the Kanye West of the MLB. Um...ok.
I hate giving this douchebag more attention, but he just keeps saying stupid things. Today's article on espn.com:
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5025391
Of note, his SUPER impressive stolen base and bunt during Spring Training. Yea...the Cubs are really kickin themselves in the ass for letting him slip away.......

Mama needs a new pair of shoes
My body informed me last night that I need a new pair of running shoes. I've actually known for quite some time that I need new shoes, but kept putting it off because of the expense (it pains me to have to spend $100 on freakin shoes). However, now that I'm facing possible injury, I can wait no more.
I was a bit excited for the opportunity to jog outside last night. The weather is starting to get nicer and I'm tired of being cooped up in the gym. So, after I got home from work yesterday, I decided to hit the pavement for a quick jog (I say quick because I had precious little time between when I got home and when Dancing With The Stars premiered-see post below for deets on that. I clearly have my priorities in place.). Well, the jog quickly went downhill (not literally) as a sharp, shooting pain ran through my left ankle. I couldn't recall actually injuring it (which wouldn't be a far stretch considering what a klutz I am), so I was perplexed as to why it was hurting. Silly me, I decided to run through the pain....eventually it waned into just my toes going numb, so I figured I could tough it out. I managed to jog about 2.5 miles before calling it a day. When I got back home and took my shoes off (after properly stretching, dontcha know), my ankle swelled to the size of a small grapefruit. Um.....not good. It's not swollen now, but continues to throb. I know what I must do-I can no longer put it off. I HAVE to buy new shoes, and really need to do it tonight since I plan to hit the gym again tomorrow. Ugh. I am SO not a shoe girl. But, I don't want to buy just any pair of running shoes-you have to be smart about these things-this is one thing you really can't cut corners on. So, I'm thinking about these:
This is the Nike Zoom Vomero +4. Sounds really fancy, but from what I've read, comes highly recommended. They're pretty cute, but I also like them because they're reported to be comfy and "cushy", something I'm sorely lacking. I'm hoping with some new shoes I'll no longer get blisters on my feet (gross, I know). Now I just need to find them. Oh, and apparently Nike runs about a half a size small so maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to buy a big girl size, say in a 6.5? My midget feet I SWEAR have grown from a 5.5 to a 6 (kinda like my ass, but whatever) because several of my shoes are now too small. Maybe they're just fatter. I'm not sure (I kid, I kid. I have not gained even an ounce, thank you very much. That could change on Easter Sunday when I'm allowed to eat candy again, but for now, no change). I really hope I don't have to go to a mall to get these shoes. I hate the mall. I'm gonna hit up Sports Authority first. Hope they have what I need.
Happy spending!

Dancing With The "Stars"
So, the Dancing With The Stars season premiere was last night and it did not disappoint. I think this may be the best season yet! Watching that hot mess Pamela Anderson is worth dedicating your Monday night to this show in and of itself. Yowza. The sad news is, super hottie Aiden Turner, best known as, well, Aidan, on All My Children, was terrible and will most likely be the first to go. Granted, Buzz Aldrin was way worse than him, but Buzz is gonna get sympathy votes because he's 80 and walked on the moon and stuff. And he's cute as a button. But that wife of his? Kinda looks like catlady-WAY too much plastic surgery.
Exhibit A
That Pussycat Doll chick was predictably good, as was Evan Lysacek-that's Gold Medal Winning Evan Lysacek to you, thank you very much. Take THAT Pleshenko, you Russian bastard. Anyhoo....I love love love Evan, but honey, let's stop pretending you're straight and dating Nastia Lukin, ok? Ain't no way in hell that boy is straight. Just sayin. Kate Gosselin-most I've spoken to hate her and want her off the show ASAP-wasn't all that good. I feel bad for her partner, Tony Dovolani because I really like him, but I think she'll be voted off soon. Chad Ochocinco was surprisingly good, Shannen Doherty wasn't too bad, Erin Andrews was pretty good-I'd vote for her to go to the finals solely because her partner is Maksim Chmerkovskiy and he is super hot. He may be a bit of an a-hole, but I don't care. He's one hot Russian. Yum.
Exhibit B
I'm having a hard time remembering who else is on the show this season because I can still see that picture of Maks.....ok, um, where was I? Oh yea....Pamela Anderson. WTF? I'm fairly certain she was either drunk or high or possibly both...but I must admit, she was pretty entertaining. Her cha cha cha wasn't the greatest, but she certainly wasn't the worst. She's a trainwreck and I'm hoping will be on for awhile because that is some good television right there! Neecy Nash, best known for appearing on Reno 911 (hilarious show), wasn't great, but she was funny as hell, hope she stays for a bit. I'm sure there were other people on the show but for the life of me, I cannot remember any of them right now. Besides....I'm now focused on tonight's American Idol. Priorities people. Priorities.

Spring has not sprung
WTF is up with this weather? I mean, for reals? It was sunny and 70 on Friday and I was rockin the hot pink toenails and flip flops....fast forward to Saturday and it's barely in the 40's, and windy and rainy. Ick. Today is more of the same although it is reported that the rain is outta here and leaving behind temps in the mid-50's. I can get on board with that, but I'd much prefer Friday's weather....
So...has everyone filled out their brackets for the NCAA tournament? I did and even took Friday off so I could sit in a bar and watch basketball for TWELVE hours. Not kidding. Yikes. The main reason I love March Madness is because it means the start of the baseball season is right around the corner. That, and I kick ass guessing on my brackets. In fact, good 'ol KD went 25 and 7 in the first round. That's some good guessing. My strategy was a complex one-a combination of picking Missouri because I'm a homer, picking Tennessee teams because that's the contract I manage at work (damn you Vanderbilt! You screwed up my bracket in the first round!) and picking teams based solely on the fact that I'd heard of them and not their opponent. Good system, huh? The second round I did not fare as well as the first, going only 9 and 7, BUT I was MORE than happy to have KU screw up my brackets-I had them going to the finals but LOVED the fact that they lost in the second round. Rock chalk THAT you stupid a-holes.
Despite the weather, I had a great weekend. I mentioned Friday's activities....Saturday I got to spend the entire day with my sister (she was in town to tour day care centers for my niece and officially started her new job here today)-as you all know, she and her family are moving back to the STL, what you don't know is that they're moving....NEXT WEEKEND!!!!! Yep, Easter weekend my beloved sis, bro-in-law and niece will officially be STL residents. I am SO excited! Especially when I think about how much fun my sis and I had on Saturday-we spent the day shopping and both of us spent our money on miss Kendall. I mean, duh. Not only is her 1st birthday in a couple of weeks, but also, well, we love to spoil her. And she's cute. And a girl needs new clothes. We also had a lovely dinner with my brother-in-law's sister on Saturday night (FYI, an hour and a half wait for a table can be made better by pre-dinner drinks at the bar. Just sayin.). Yesterday, I got to see my baby bro for a bit-he and his friend Travis were heading to Miami and needed a ride to the airport....you're welcome boys. After I dropped them off (and only got kinda lost leaving the airport), I headed to Grandpa's where I spent the entire afternoon with him and my sister watching Mizzou lose....then we took gramps to dinner. I was bracing myself for either Bob Evans or IHOP but Gramps opted for Steak and Shake where he harrassed our waitress-he reminded her he needed an adequate number of crackers for his chili not the usual "two packages you guys usually give". Our girl was good and she brought gramps about 10 packages of crackers. She asked him if that was enough and he said "I'll let you know". Gramps did NOT eat all those crackers, by the way. So, I guess it was enough.
Today at work is a day straight from HELL. Eighteen cases (a "full" caseload for a day is 12.....you get the picture of how sucky 18 is), half my team off and my boss off all week. Awesome. I've decided I don't really give a crap-my contract is shifting to our Atlanta office on April 1, which is next week. I broke the news to my favorite staffperson today that I would no longer be his reviewer and I swear he was about to cry. Yea, he and I had our ups and downs (I HATED him when we first got this contract, in fact, I think I may have called him Captain Dipshit once or twice, but I ended up loving him and sorta having an over-the-phone crush), but in the end, he was my favorite contact in all of TN. Now I have to win over a whole new freakin state. More on that in the next paragraph....
So, it was finally decided who would get what new contract come next week. Who is KD managing? Oh yes, get your cheese curds and Packers t-shirts ready because this girl is now the face of Wisconsin. HOLLA! I'm prepared to deal with sausage lovin (Brewers fans), cheese head wearin (Packer's fans and, well, prolly most of the rest of the state), wine drinkin (shout out to Door County!), cheese curd eatin folks. We hear they are "heavy utilizers" which, in laymans terms means the fine folks of Wisconsin utilize their mental health and substance abuse benefits often. Yay for me. Kill me now. My buddy JJ is from Wisconsin I believe and I am fully prepared for her to be the only person in that state I like. JJ, hope you don't have United Healthcare insurance and plan on using your mental health/substance abuse benefits any time soon..... ;)

Wow, people are, um, interesting
Well folks, I've been fired by my hairdresser. You know there's a good story behind this, right? At first I was mad but now I'm just kind of entertained by the fact that it even happened. People are effin nuts, that's all I have to say.
Ok, first the background on my now former hairdresser-I used to work with her mom and one day I mentioned I was looking for a new hairdresser and voila, I started going to her daughter. Now, this girl is very loud, opinionated and bitchy (what? It's true!), but she did a great job with my hair so I ignored any annoying personality traits she may have had. She eventually became my Facebook "friend" and would often comment on my posts and various things. Her comments were often sarcastic and came off as rather bitchy (not just to me but I've had several other people say something to me about it) but I usually let it go. Until what happened this week.
As you all know, I am completely, totally in love with my niece. Does it border on obsessive? Maybe. But how dare anyone judge that or make fun of that.....right? So, on Monday, my niece turned 11 months old and I said something about it as my FB status. Now, most normal, SANE people commented things like "oh my goodness, she's getting so big" or checked that they "like" the status. Not my former hairdresser. Oh no. She put something to the effect of "geez, get over it already. Dang". Now, I don't know about you, but I find this completely rude and inappropriate. So, me being newly assertive apparently, sent her a private message on Facebook. I was very nice but I did say that I didn't appreciate her comment, that I found it rude and unnecessary and that she can make fun of anything else I have going on but NOT about my relationship with my niece or anything related to it. That seems fair, right? Well.....apparently not because she sent me a response that completely turned it around on me. Um....what? She said that she couldn't believe I would assume the worst of her and how dare I accuse her of doing something malicious, blah, blah, blah. Then, THEN, she sent me a second message saying she'd thought about it some more and that I was going to need to find someone else to do my hair because she didn't want my hate and negativity around her or her salon. Ummmm.......what just happened? I sought consultation with friends all day long yesterday to determine if I'd done something wrong to deserve that craziness. All agreed she's in the wrong here and completely insane. I mean, seriously???? You're gonna try to project your rudeness onto ME? I'm sure there's a diagnosable mental health disorder there somewhere. Good times!
And you know what's funny about this? In all the time I've known her I have never once mentioned the fact that she totally looks like a drag queen. Ooops....I guess I just mentioned it, huh?

My dreams have finally come true!!!!
Did anyone watch the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics? The ceremony certainly had an, um, Canadian feel, probably because it took place in Canada (they're a bit wacky up there, I'm just sayin). Toward the end there was a certain part of the ceremony that got my attention, however (besides Michael Buble-my most recent crush). And that part was the giant blow-up beavers, moose and......mounties. YESSSSS! They were awesome and I'm totally going against my own anti blow-up rule here, but I want one. Can you imagine having a giant beaver in your front yard? That would be SPECTACULAR! Well, luckily for me, I have Canadian connections. I was informed today that, in fact, these bad boys are for sale....for the low, low price of $5,000....Canadian dollars (roughly $4800 here in the good ol' US of A). Can anyone loan me 4800 bucks? I HAVE to have one. I wonder what the canadian geese across the street will think of this........

Cubs, nuns and Lady GaGa
I'll bet I can top whatever cool thing happened to you this weekend. How's that, you may ask? Well, I'll tell you. So, Saturday was BEAUTIFUL here in the STL. It was sunny and temps hit 60, so I decided to get back out on the pavement and go jogging. I haven't jogged outside since the fall (having had to move all my exercise indoors during the cold months), so I was pretty excited. I went my usual route-down to Francis Park and back-about four miles. While jogging around the park I saw the coolest thing ever. Jogging in the opposite direction from me was....a pack of wild nuns. True story. The Sisters, in their full nun outfits were jogging in the park. Picture it for a second. You're jealous, aren't you?
Aside from that awesomeness, the weekend as a whole was pretty good. I was able to watch my first Cubs game of the season-granted it's just Spring Training but it was SO good to see the boys in blue again! I loves them and Rami was lookin goooooooood my friends. Good indeed. My other baseball boyfriend, Micah Hoffpauir needs to lose the long hair, however. His ass still looked good though. And OMFG, so The Prospect, Starlin Castro was born in the F**KING 1990's. What the?????? That is when you know you're old.
I also had lunch with my friend Renee on Saturday-always a good time-I swear the two of us could talk forever. On Saturday night I went out for my friend Val's 40th birthday. Considering I'm personally never turning 40, I wanted to see what a 40th birthday would look like-and what it looked like was a drunken good time. I was dancing with the gays to "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga. I think you can imagine how the rest of the night went. All of my favorite peeps were there, I think Val had fun, and that's what's most important.
Sunday was recovery day, not gonna lie. I'm old as hell and getting home at nearly 3am is just not do-able like it used to be. Yikes. I managed to run a few errands yesterday but other than that, was pretty much a lazy slug. I DID, however, get a surprise call from my favorite foreigner last night, so that ended the day on a good note (even if most of the convo consisted of making fun of me. It is what it is.). I skipped the Oscars because, well, they're boring.
Now, operating on a full night's sleep I am ready to tackle Monday. Bring it, bitches!

My niece is 11 months old today!
I can't believe she's already almost one! Where did this last year go???? I mean...I remember this time last year we were getting sooooo excited as my sister's due date got closer. Now, we've got this awesome 11 month old in our lives and she's truly been the greatest thing ever. We'll be heading back to Texas next month for her birthday, wouldn't miss it for the world!

As if we needed more proof....
....that Milton Bradley is a Grade A douchebag (we're talking John Mayer proportions here), here is an article that should solidify that:

I don't really have anything else to say about it other than this-have fun Seattle.

Signs of spring
An obvious sign of spring around here made itself known this morning....with a vengeance. As I neared my office building, the sweet, pungent scent of the landfill filled my nostrils. Mmmmm...nothing like the smell of toxic waste and shit to really give you spring fever, eh? OMG seriously. What are we even breathing in? I'm convinced everyone in this office park is either 1. gonna develop some weird type of cancer or 2. grow an extra appendage. It is sooooo gross. My boss is complaining of nausea and I have a headache. It may be psychosomatic....it may not be. We may never know.
Another obvious sign of spring is............Spring Training! Yay! It is in full force, the Cubbies had their first Spring Training game yesterday and....they won! Yay! While I am sad that I am not at Spring Training this year, I am still super duper excited that baseball season is nearly upon us again. It's my favorite. Although.......how bout them Blues, huh? Kickin' ass and takin' names since the Olympic break. Holla! Is it sad that we get excited about two wins in a row? Probably.
So....it's almost the weekend. Gotta get through this hellacious day at work but then...bring on the weekend baby! No plans tonight but going to the gym and then chillin at home, but tomorrow I'm having lunch with my good friend Renee and then tomorrow night is parrrrrtay time! Tomorrow is my friend Val's 40th birthday and we are gonna make sure she has a good time. We are meeting for pre-drink drinks at 6:15pm. I love the idea of having pre-drink drinks. Makes perfect sense to me.

American Idol 2010...Top 10 girls
I was hoping to be wowed tonight and I was....but not until the last singer. More on that in a bit. First, my random observations for the night.
Can we first talk about Randy's Mr. Rogers cardigan? I felt like I was about to go to the Land of Make Believe to hang out with Henrietta Pussycat and that creepy king puppet. Won't you be my neighbor? Wait, where was I going with that? Sorry....got sidetracked. Oh, and when he said the "guys brought it" last night. Um, was he watching the same show? I mean seriously? And what was up with Kara's hair? It looked like she bought some hair extensions from Wal-Mart and stuck them in her ponytail. For reals. And did anyone notice Big Mike wearing a man scarf? Only gays and, well, Big Mike can pull off that look.
Ok, on to the performances:
1. Crystal Bowersox-back from her mystery illness (really, they're being quite mysterious about it, aren't they?), Crystal did some CCR song I've never heard of (CCR is more my parents gig, y'all), but it didn't matter. She was FANTASTIC. I do have a question however, and I don't know how to say this delicately, so I'll just say it-is she missing a tooth? Moving on....Simon used the word "misunderestimated". That's a lot of letters. Are we sure that's a real word?
2. Haeley Vaughn-Oh poor Haeley. You're going home this week, sweetheart. She sang The Climb by Miley Cyrus and while she sang it better than Miley (you know, because Miley can't sing), it still wasn't good. And, I'm sorry, but I just cannot get past the lisp. Simon called it a "complete and utter mess" and, well, he's right. I will say, however, that for the duration of the show I had that effin' song in my head. Thanks for that kid.
3. Lacey Brown-why is it that every time they introduce her, they always say "Texas native, Lacey Brown"? Is that her full name or something? Should I start going by "Missouri native, Kerri Davidson". Would that clarify things for y'all? Just wondering. Anyway, on to her singing, she did Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer. She sang it well and it was a million times better than last week, but it was still very karaoke-esque. And, I'm pretty sure my mom wore her dress back in 1986. Does anyone else think it's weird that the '80's are "back", or is it just me?
4. Katie Stevens-something about this kid just annoys the crap out of me. I can't quite put my finger on it. Oh wait, yes I can-it's the cheesy looks she makes when the camera is on her. Reminicent of Constantine...remember him? She sang Corinne Bailey Rae's "Put Your Records On" and, while she has a good voice, I was just bored with the whole thing to be quite honest. That being said, I'm sure she'll be around for awhile.
5. Didi Benami-ok, I didn't think she was as horrible as the judges said she was. I was still stuck on the meowing, so I wasn't really able to focus much on the song, but from what I recall, it wasn't horrible. But seriously, girlfriend, get a grip! You have got to stop with the waterworks. This is coming from a fellow cry baby. GET.IT.TOGETHER.
6. Michele Delamor-very brave to take on the great Scott Stapp and Creed (and by "great" I mean "total douchebag"), she has a great voice and her hair is awesome, it was all over the place, but still, she's marketable and won't be going anywhere anytime soon. For the record, I now have that Corinne Bailey Rae song in my head.
7. Lilly Scott-She sang Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke. Amazing. I dig her. Even if she is a bit mannish. Don't lie, you were thinking it.
8. Katelyn Epperly-for the record, I think Coldplay is as craptastic as say, Nickelback, so I typically would not even care to listen to someone cover one of their songs, but, I gotta say, she did great with The Scientist. I don't know what being a scientist has to do with what appears to be a breakup song, but whatever. I really liked this performance, the judges thought it was too slow, but I thought her voice was beautiful. I loved it, actually.
9. Paige Miles-I keep forgetting about her. Yes, she has a great voice, but the judges are right, her song choices just aren't working. And, really, I think it's probably not a good idea to sing a song that Kara co-wrote. I mean, she's totally gonna pick you apart. And let me just say this, does anyone else think Paige looks like K Fed's first baby momma? Or is it just me?
10. Siobhan Magnus. I have two words for her performance of Think by Aretha Franklin and those two words are this: LOVED IT. Wow. That note at the end was beyond mind blowing. Yes, Siobhan is strange as hell but damn can that skinny white girl sing! My favorite of the night by far.
So, I think Siobhan, Crystal, Lilly and Katelyn were the best of the night.
Two have to go home tomorrow. My money is on Haeley and Lacey. They both should have gone last week, in my opinion.
I really hope this show gets better because, seriously, this is the least excited I've been about AI in a long time.
This concludes tonight's rant. I bid you all adieu. Til next week.
KD out.

I'll give you one reason to watch Dancing With The Stars this season....
And reason is this:
For those that don't know, this delicious piece of meat is Aiden Turner....best known as Aidan (I know that's a stretch) on All My Children. He is H-O-T hot and, ladies....he even has an accent. Can I get a "hell yea"????
Anyhoo, he's gonna be on Dancing With The Stars this season and I, for one, can only hope there are several dances that require him to go shirtless. Just sayin.

American Idol 2010...Top 10 guys
Back by popular demand (ok, like ONE person requested this, but whatever) is my weekly write-up of my take on the American Idol performances. Now, I am by no means a music expert. In fact, I couldn't sing my way out of a paper bag, but, I DO have opinions. Lots of them in fact. And I will make them known now.
Let's address the judges and host first, shall we? Is it just me or has Seacrest had some work done? He looked "surprised" all night. Just sayin. And what the F was Kara doing prior to the show? Her hair looked like she got caught in a wind tunnel. And for reals, could Simon's shirt be unbuttoned any more? And why is he so red? Is it a spray tan gone awry? I don't get it. I don't really have anything snarky to say about Randy or Ellen....yet. I'm sure their time will come.
Ok, so here's my take on the Top 10 guys:
1. Big Mike-Ok, first of all, loved it when he said he could bench press 4 or 5 Ryan Seacrests. That made me giggle. Big Mike is adorable, ok? He sang James Brown's "This Is A Man's World" and I thought he was FAN-DAMN-TASTIC. Loved it. My fave of the night. Holla!
2. John Park-um, I want to cut his hair. Seriously. Know how he said English is his second language? Here's a suggestion pal-perhaps you'll find more singing success if you start singing in Korean. Just sayin. He sang "Gravity" by John Mayer and, although John Mayer is the biggest douchebag on Earth, I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate this guy butchering his song. This guy isn't even good enough to be cruise ship material. A star at your local karaoke bar on a Friday night maybe. And seriously, dude, it's not like it's prom or anything but could you wear more than just a plain white t-shirt? John Park is goin home this week my friends.
3. Casey James-Yes, I have a giant crush on him. He's hot. So he didn't totally rock Gavin DeGraw's "I Don't Wanna Be". Who cares? He's pretty, sassy and other than tonight's performance, has sung really well. His guitar playing kicked ass though. Me likey.
4. Alex Lambert-not gonna lie, at first, that mullet made me want to punch him in the face. That, and he really sucked last week. But....to my pleasant surprise, the mullet is growing on me and he sang John Legend's "Everybody Knows" really well. And his shyness is kinda cute. In a mullet-y sort of way. I love that Ellen loves the mullet.
5. Todrick Hall-he sang Tina Turner's "What's Love Got to do with it". Dude...some songs you just don't F with, this is one of them. He sang good in parts, but the judges were right, he's trying too hard. I do think he's funny and cute however....and marketable. He'd be great at Disney World. Just sayin.
6. Jermaine Sellers-worst one of the night ( besides John Park), he sang "What's Goin On" by Marvin Gaye. It was just a hot mess. Blech. In fact, part of the performance I don't even remember. I may have blacked out for a bit, I'm not sure. And what the F was up with the scatting? You sir are NOT Ella Fitzgerald. Get off the stage. I can't decide if he's funny or obnoxious, but I'm leaning more toward obnoxious. I DID, however, like his footie pajamas.
7. Andrew Garcia-I'm sorry, but I have no idea why he was the early favorite-I think he kinda sucks. Tonight he sang "You Give Me Something" by James Morrison. I was just waiting for it to end. Next.
8. Aaron Kelley-how cute is he??? Just 16 years old, he's adorable and if he wasn't already adopted I'd file the papers to adopt him myself. And for a little scrawny thing, dude can sing!!! Not sure where those pipes come from, but I like it. I thought his version of "My Girl" was good. Simon didn't like it, but I did. So there.
9. Tim Urban-not gonna lie, I totally didn't even remember him. I was like "was that dude even on last week?"....and then I saw the clip from last week's performance and it all came flooding back. Clearly I'd blocked out that horrible performance. This week, in all his David Cassidy/Partridge Family glory, he redeemed himself. He sang "Come On Get Higher" by Matt Nathanson which is one of my favorite songs. Good song choice for him, sounded a bit karaoke-esque, but way better than last week. Teenage girls will vote for him for sure.
10. Lee Dewyze-Confession time. During the tryouts and stuff, I thought he was a total d-bag. For reals. I am happy to say I am taking that back-I dig this guy! And....I may have a crush on him. Having pretty boys on this show makes me more apt to watch it. Just sayin. So, he sang "Lips Of An Angel" by Hinder which, by the way, is a terrible song, but, he sounded GREAT. He definitely rocks, I'm kinda diggin the bad boy/rock thing from him. Simon said he's the best of the guys. He's definitely Top 3.
So....here's the deal, I don't know how many get the boot on Thursday but here's who should go: John Park and Jermaine Sellers.
Big Mike, Lee and Aaron were the best. We'll see how the girls do tomorrow night.
This ends installment #1, KD out.
P.S. spellcheck didn't recognize "douchebag" as a word. That disappoints me.

The number of times I have to go back to Texas is.....
....down to ONE! Why's that, you may ask? Well......it's because MY SIS GOT A JOB IN ST. LOUIS!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!! That's right, that means my niece that I love sooooo much is gonna be right here in the STL permanently. Can you tell I'm excited? My sis landed a kick ass job she couldn't refuse, they'll be here permanently by the end of April. The reason I have to go back to Texas just one more time is for my niece's first birthday next month-I think I can handle that.
So....the trip to Dallas was good. OMG, so, my dad decided we'd leave Salem at 7pm, drive through the night and arrive at my sister's house around 5am. Mmmm kay. Well, I attempted to sleep most of the way, as did my mom. We arrived in Dallas at 4am, a bit earlier than anticipated, so we went to IHOP. Yep, sure did. The waiter looked at us like "why in the hell are you here at 4am?". I was asking myself that same question....anyhoo, Thursday and Friday the 'rents and I got to play baby sitter and stay home with Miss Kendall. She is just too cute. I mean, seriously. She's so funny....and happy....and wild. I love it. Kendall LOVES Dora (I think I watched about 50 episodes in two days. For reals) and I believe has a crush on Dora's cousin, Diego (she kept waving at him when he was on tv-so cute!). She loved the Dora doll I got her and carried her around...and chewed on her hand. :) The most exciting news is (besides the fact that they are moving back home)........Kendall learned to WALK! OMG...she mastered about 6-7 steps before falling (update: today my sis reports she walked about 15 total steps last night-fell once but picked herself back up and kept going-attagirl!). She now thinks she is a walking expert and can carry toys in both hands while trying to walk-she's so silly. It's so cute watching her little tiny self walking around like a big person! Mark it down-walking at 10.5 months. Kiddo is right on target with her developmental milestones! :)
Here's a pic of the two of us. Note her cheesy grin. She loves to scrunch up her nose and smile-my mom says my sister did that as a baby-so, like mother, like daughter!
Me, my little buddy......and Dora
