Happy Halloween party people!!!! HOLLA! OMG, Mike is so freakin hyper today. My team decided to have a little Halloween breakfast this morning (because we are elitist snobs and don't like to participate in the food day that the entire office is having-we don't play well with others). Mike, after a giant doughnut, is bouncing off the walls. I may have to punch him. Then again, after downing a couple Excedrin migraine pills today (packed with caffeine), I may be joining him in the whole wall bouncing thing. Yes, that damn headache just will not go away-I think today is Day 8. Allergies my ass. I asked Dr. Beach (who Mike says is dressed up like Cher today) his opinion on migraines and he told me they are usually triggered by stress.....sounds about right coming from a psychiatrist...he asked what's stressing me, I said, rather bluntly "my job". He laughed. I wasn't kidding. :) Oh well, I'm in a pretty good mood for a girl with a massive headache.....why? Because I LOVE Halloween!!!!! I'm wearing devil horns in the office today, part of my "evil managed care lady" outfit. Some say it's a natural look for me.....
My girls and I will be going out this evening. We are reprising our camping costumes from last year...with a bit of a twist. It involves fake blood that has now stained my hands (I had to have a proper smeared bloody hand print on my shirt!). Pictures to follow. I believe we are going to see one of our favorite bands, Trixie Delight, tonight down in SoCoMo. Good times will be had by all, I'm sure!
Everyone be careful and have a fun, SPOOKTACULAR Halloween!

Happy Birthday Ben and.....Happy Halloween Eve!
Happy Birthday today to my baby cousin, Ben. Are you 22 now? Geez. Want me to tell my old lady stories about how I remember when you were born? No? Ok, but let me know if you do. Have a great birthday cousin! Give baby Brayden a big hug and kiss for me! I'll see you guys Thanksgiving weekend!
Ok, so I know technically, Halloween Eve is not a holiday, but I want to celebrate it anyway, ok? I realize I've been slacking in the blogging department this week. Quite honestly, I just haven't felt like writing. Been in a blah mood this week, not sleeping well, work is stressful, all that good stuff, blah, blah, blah. Let's recap what we've missed:
1. The Phillies won the World Series. Yahoo. At least the NL won. And Ryan Howard, a local guy, got to win. And former Cubbie Scott "don't call me Stevie" Eyre got to win. Yahoo for them.
2. Cloris Leachman finally got voted off Dancing With The Stars. It's about damn time, is all I have to say about that.
3. I just realized I can't think of a 3rd thing that has happened this week. I need more sleep and/or more caffeine. Stat.

Pics from Red and Jon's 30th birthday party
Finally posting pics from the big 3-0 birthday party we had for my sister and her hubby Jon on Saturday night. Huge thanks to Jon's parents for hosting the event. I think a good time was had by all.
A 3oth birthday party wouldn't be complete without some black balloons, would it?The cake that could feed a small country.....I believe it actually fed 96. Is that right, Red? The Birthday Girl with our baby brother, Tim. Too cute!
Jon's special 30th birthday pin I made him wear. You can't tell in this picture, but it lit up, bright, flashing red lights. Definitely seizure inducing.
The Birthday Girl. Can you even tell she's pregnant?
my sister and her hubby, I made them pose with all their special birthday "bling". :)

I don't think that's an actual baby bump, that's just the way she's standing....my sis is a cute prego, I'll give her that! Maybe by Thanksgiving you'll be showing my dear! Some of the guests in their Mizzou best. Mizzou won (killed the other team would be more accurate), as did the Blues. It was an overall good sports day! Here's Red and Jon with their friend, Aaron.

Happy 30th Birthday, Red and Jon!
Woo hoo! My sister and her husband Jon are 30 today! Congrats guys! Way to join the club! :) In all seriousness, I hope you have a FANTASTIC birthday today! I hope you enjoyed your party this weekend-we did our best to gather everyone together to celebrate with you! I'll post pics soon, promise! Have a great day! I can't wait to see you in a few weeks for Thanksgiving. Love you guys!

I get to see my fam today!
I'm very excited to get to see my family today! All of them! My sis and brother-in-law (and baby Blue) flew in late last night and my parents and brother will be here noonish. In fact, I need to get myself in gear and start getting ready so that I can drive over to Grandpa's to greet them. Ah, nothing like fine family fun! We are celebrating my sister and brother-in-law's 30th birthday this weekend (yes, they have the same birthday-weird, huh?). Their actual birthday isn't until Monday, but with them living in another state, this was the best we could do. :) Of course, most everyone is excited about seeing my sister and seeing if she's "showing" yet. She is now 16 weeks along and, from pictures, appears to have the tiniest bit of a baby bump. Both families already love this baby so much, can't wait to see him/her, or Blue as the baby is being called. :) Here's hoping Mizzou (and the Blues for that matter) actually win today. That'd be a nice gift to the birthday kids, huh?
Hope everyone has a great weekend. It's a bit chilly here, but then again, it IS the end of October. I LOVE IT! I just noticed in the last couple of days that the leaves are finally starting to change around here. I was getting impatient waiting. You know it's my absolute favorite time of year and the leaves changing is my favorite part. Perhaps I'll do some hiking or take a long drive next weekend to see all the colors. I do so love Missouri in the fall!!!!

Seriously?
OMG, is it seriously only 11:24am? I swear I've been at work for like 10 hours already. Ugh. Here is what I want: my blankies, my bed, a nice hot bubble bath and some Benadryl to knock me out (in no particular order). Can we arrange that? I'm not sure my short attention span can make it through an entire day of work today (at BOTH jobs). I'm hearing people talking around me but it just sounds like mindless buzzing. Kerri want sleepy..........
In other more exciting news, my sister had her sixteen week checkup today and all is well with Baby B! I'm feeling the "it's a boy" vibe, FYI. They will find out what they are having on Nov 24. I can't wait to find out!

BOO HISS!
Ew gross. What is up with my skin lately? Am I a pre-pubescent teenager? I feel like I need to be on one of those Proactiv commercials....as the BEFORE picture. Dude, WTF? I feel all hormonal and gross. I thought this stuff was supposed to go away by the time you reached your 30's?
Ok, so the Blues lost to the Red Wings last night (BOO HISS!). They tried to make it entertaining in the 3rd period, and I love Bernie Federko's commentary about how at least the Blues were able to compete with the mighty Red Wings, and isn't it so great that they weren't intimidated, blah, blah, blah. Hey Bernie, they still LOST. TJ Oshie is gonna be my new favorite. I like his name. And he scored his first NHL goal last night. And I was totally gonna comment on how old Keith Tkachuk is and why is he still playing until I realized that he is only 4 years older than me. Ouch. I suppose at 36 he can still keep playing, I mean, Chris Chelios is turning 74 this year and he's still playing (isn't he?).
I am completely over this whole working thing today. Which is not good considering it's only 9:00am and I have to work until 8:30 tonight. Hmmmm.....someones in for a long day, huh? At least the caseload today isn't too horrendously terrible, it's still more work than I actually want to do, but what can ya do? At least tomorrow is Friday and I so graciously agreed to cover my co-worker Jeff's late night tomorrow, meaning I don't have to be in until 9:00am. I'm sleeping in until a whopping 7:00am bitches! Jealous? :)
Did the Phillies win last night? It was 3-2 in the 6th when I decided to stop watching the game.

I miss my boys
I miss my Mikey! I miss my Canadian as well. I really don't think it's fair that I have to be without BOTH of my boys. Do you? I mean, my Canadian I get-since he lives in a different country and all (and who is apparently coming to visit the ENTIRE month of February-right DT????), but I haven't seen my Mikey since last Friday. Mikey Poo-I think it's high time you came back to your Ker Bear. I demand it. Yes, I'm being bossy. I wanna gather all my peeps into one huge room and just hang out with them. Minus Amy Henson. She's sick right now and, although I love her, I don't want her cooties. ;)
So, I was flipping through the radio stations today when I came across "Feel Like Makin Love" by Bad Company (is that right?). Wow. Nothing says "have fun driving in the morning rush hour" quite like this song....this prompts me to discuss the term "making love". Does anyone REALLY say that? It makes me giggle for some reason, probably because I have the maturity of a 12 year old. But seriously, if someone said to you "hey baby, I feel like makin love", tell me you wouldn't bust a gut laughing. Good times.
Let's discuss Dancing With The Stars for a minute. Why on God's green Earth is Cloris Leachman still on the show? Sure, her crazy old lady antics were funny at first, but come on America! Stop voting for her. She's OLD. And she can't dance. Granted, Toni Braxton getting the boot was inevitable, but perhaps last night's exit was a bit premature. My favorite is still Warren Sapp, although that Maurice Greene is starting to grow on me. When is Maksim coming back for a guest appearance????
Blues vs Wings tonight! GO BLUES!!!!!!!!!! Bring on the trash talk Canuck! ;)
I have the pleasure of getting to work at my part-time job the next two nights in a row. Yay me! I realize now you are probably jealous of my exciting life. Don't be. Only two more days until Red, Jon and Blue arrive in the STL (Blue is the name of my not-yet-born niece/nephew. Thanks to his/her daddy for that one!). I am very excited to see them! I, of course, am also excited to see my parents and brother on Saturday. Hilarious-I just got off the phone with Grandpa. After an email from Aunt Cheryl indicating that Grandpa claimed he knew nothing of Red and Jon's party on Saturday, I had to swoop in and do some damage control. I swear I was told Grandpa knew all about it and was coming, but this isn't the first time he has claimed to not know anything about an event (I mean, he is nearly 81 for God's sake!). So, I called him this morning and he was his usual worked up self. The good news is, he "thinks" he can make himself available for Saturday and "why hasn't Lumpy called me yet to tell me what time she's coming?" (Mother, you need to get on that!) and "do we even need to watch the Mizzou game after they got their butts kicked by Texas?" and when I told him I assumed he knew what was going on he said "you know what they say about assuming Kerri Bird". Um yes, yes I do. Ah...I do so love my Grandpa. :) In short, he will be there on Saturday sis, never fear! :)

Pics from Saturday night....
Oh so much drunken fun at Carrie's house on Saturday night. Oh good Lord, is all I have to say. Here's me, Dr. Judy (from work) and Frieda...Judy made the most fantabulous pumpkin pie martini's (see the bright orange drink???).
Judy showing off her amazing drink, complete with the whipped cream that Carrie just happened to have in the fridge. Um.....yea. :)
The deadly boobietini.....yes, it had it's own dispenser that Carrie purchased at Costco. We need to keep her away from Costco...

me and my girl Val. The ONLY one that was drunk that night....... :) Nice angle, KD.
Erin and her friends Sarah and Jamie
Think we have enough alcohol? Ashley and Sam sample the goods.
Robin and Val...two of my favoritest people ever!
Ashley and Samone of the "boobie" cupcakes Carrie made. Nice, huh?

OMG, OMG, OMG. This makes me laugh so hard, I don't even know what to say. It's the character from the strange karaoke game Carrie has. The thing dances and sings with you. It's hilarious.Dr. Judy rockin out!Val and Ashley.OMG, photographic evidence of our 3am phone call to Canada....not sure what I'm chewing on, but I'm pretty sure Ashley is talking to Darin in this pic.........and here's me talking to him. Ugh, I look like I have a black eye!Ash still on the phone with Darin...God knows what Val is laughing at.......here's Val being sassy as always.
OMG, my favorite picture. It's Ash Vader and Darth Carrie. Carrie has two little boys and apparently, while the girls were making up our beds for the night, they discovered the boys Darth Vader helmets and were wearing them around the house. Just thinking about it makes me laugh out loud. This pic was taken somewhere in the neighborhood of 5:00am.....

Ooops....apparently the Blues won on Sat
shows how much I know. They are now 4-1 and in First Place. That doesn't happen everyday.
NOOOOO! Not the Tony Danza song again!
Son of a........I head "Tiny Dancer" again this morning which can only mean one thing, short of also hearing "Dust In the Wind", I am gonna have this song stuck in my head for an indefinite amount of time. Yay me.
So, in all my hungover glory yesterday, I went to bed at 8pm. Nice, huh? Actually, I had the lofty goal of watching Desperate Housewives, which started at 8pm...I think I may have made it through the opening credits. I awoke around 11:30 or so, completely disoriented, on my couch, with all the lights on, not entirely sure what had happened. Once I realized where I was, what time it was and in general what was going on, I quickly gathered my blankies and then went to bed for real. The good news is I feel great today, thanks for asking. Well, great until I walked in and was told that both our databases are down so I can't do any actual work this morning. Fun, fun. Guess I'm gonna have to just sit here and look pretty. Wish me luck with that.
Very much looking forward to this weekend. We are celebrating my sister and brother-in-law's 30th birthday on Saturday and not only will they be in town (can't wait to see my sister's pregnant cuteness! Check her out....how adorably skinny is she?) but so will my parents and my
brother. Can't wait to hang with the fam! And while Mizzou has had a bit of a fall from glory, we will still be watching the game on Saturday (what are they ranked now? Like 16th? Ick.). In other local sports news, the Blues lost on Sat (what can ya do in a 1-0 game?) and I still can't believe that the Rams won yesterday. Surely the world is about to end now. :)
I've just received word that our databases are working again. Shoot, guess I have to go do some actual work now. Happy Monday y'all!

I slept on the top bunk and lived to tell about it!
UGH. Hangover, anyone? It's been quite some time since I've had enough alcohol to warrant a hangover. Until now, that is. I hate everyone right now. Oh, don't get me wrong, I had a GREAT time last night. The boobie recovery party at Carrie's was a blast, the boobietini's were a'flowin (a concoction of pomegranate vodka, juice, pineapple juice and some other stuff). I'm pretty sure I had a few Captain Morgan concoctions as well (thanks to Dr. Judy). To the people we "drunk dialed" (and you know who you are)....I sincerely apologize. In my defense, I didn't do any of the dialing....I recall doing some chatting, however. Mike called me this morning to advise me of the entertaining phone call he received from us...his voicemail said "are you hungover?". Um, yes, I am. Thanks. And I don't know who's idea it was to call Canada, but it happened, twice, apparently. The ladies love themselves some DT, what can I say? I believe we got off the phone sometime around 5:00am....I'm sure that was quite the entertaining conversation, what with me shrieking about the girls wearing Darth Vader helmets and freaking out when I was drinking my Kahlua and hot chocolate and thinking I'd just bitten into a salty marshmallow (turns out, Carrie just didn't stir it real well and it was actually a clump of hot chocolate mix. Hilarious). Oh and DT, you're right, Val was the only one who was drunk. :)
I can't wait to post some of the pics from last night's festivities....once I charge the battery on my camera. I'll get right on that. While on the phone with DT, sleeping arrangements were being discussed and it was somehow decided that I would be sleeping on the top bunk. Now, given my history of injuring myself, DT didn't think this was such a great idea. I really wasn't too sure about it myself, but at 5:30am, I wasn't really concerned with where I was sleeping (or my general safety), so I hoisted my ass up to the top bunk (complete with dinosaur sheets! Awesome!). I'll have you know that I didn't fall out of the bed once! (thank God for the safety railing and the fact that once I laid down, I didn't move). Sadly, I was up at 8:30am feeling like hell on a stick. Carrie was up with me and I begged her for ibuprofen and Tums. We hung out for a bit and moaned and groaned a lot, then decided to go back to bed. I was up for good about 10:30, went to meet Sue and Renee for brunch and now I am at the crisis line working. Have I mentioned that I hate everyone? I need my bed. Stat.

Boobietini, anyone?
I was always told not to talk to strangers. You know, for safety and stuff. So, against my better judgment, I accepted my neighbors invite to come over to view his paintings this afternoon. Ok, so not like he's a total stranger, I mean, we've lived in the same building for over a year now and he is the only one in the building I actually talk to. He's very nice in a hanging-out-with-someone-your-dad's-age sort of way, so I figured there was no harm in checking out some art. I gotta tell ya, he is really talented and his paintings were beautiful. So, I'm glad I decided to not be anti-social (which is my usual MO) today. Yay me. Way to grow as a person, huh? :)
Had Girls Lunch today-it was an abbreviated version as only myself, Aunt Cheryl, Aunt Mary and Rachel were present, but we still had a good time, although we missed the other ladies! We got to hear all about Aunt Cheryl's trip to Hollywood (love the part about she and Jeff meeting Hef and the Girls Next Door!) and the girls pressed for details about my trip to Canada. It was lots of fun. And the giant onion rings at Trailhead are TO DIE FOR!
I've spent the better part of the afternoon chilling, laying around on the couch and just generally doing nothing. At least I was dressed before noon...... ;) Tonight is Boobie Recovery 2008 at my friend Carrie's house, sure can't wait to try one of those boobietini's.....in fact, I really should start getting ready to go. I've got Captain Morgan to buy (and drink). Later peeps! And happy weekend!

I don't do political discussions
Ick, one of our doctors at work tried to engage me in a political discussion yesterday. Knowing he is a Republican (and I'm sooooo not), I really wasn't down with it as political discussions always seem to get heated. I mean, everyone is entitled to their opinions, but some folks feel very strongly (I am not one of those people). Although last night, the book club girls and I discussed politics and there was no hair pulling or anything like that (even though Christina is a Sarah Palin supporter). Quite frankly, I'll be glad when this election is over so that we can focus on things that are really important, like reality TV and Blues games (who won again last night, 3-1 baby!).
So, book club (as usual) was a good time last night. I forgot that I actually like hosting. The girls looked through my Canada pics (and deemed my Canadian boy quite cute.....I mean, DUH!) and DT I'm telling you now, they want you to come here and visit. Everyone does. Seems you're quite popular. :) Who knew? ;)
Big plans this weekend? I am working at my part-time job tonight (WILD and crazy Friday night, huh?), tomorrow is our monthly Girls Lunch with the aunts and cousins (although I think it's just me, Aunt Cheryl, Aunt Mary and Rachel this month) and tomorrow night is.......boobie recovery party 2008. What is this, you may ask? Well, since our girl Erin had her surgery, we are now celebrating it, complete with boobietini's. Don't ask. Basically we are having a slumber party over at Carrie's house complete with food and lots o' drinks. Me likey. I'm a little scared to see what the boobietini entails, however......Sunday I am doing brunch with Sue and Renee and then working at the crisis line again. Sounds busy, huh?
I miss the Cubs......and DJT......not necessarily in that order.

Lot's o'randomness
Ugh, seriously I will be so glad when this Presidential election is over. Against my better judgement, I sat through the debate last night and really would have preferred to poke my own eyeballs out. That John McCain is a crusty old man! I love how he was trying to be all tough and really get at Obama. Nice try, gramps, but uhhhhh, not so much. Obama just laughed at him like the old fool that he is (can you tell I'm not a fan?). Um, and Senator McCain, Sarah Palin's child has DOWN SYNDROME, NOT Autism. Get it straight. At this point, I'm not convinced that either one of them can save this country, but at least Obama's arms move. :)
Um, let's talk for a moment about the fact that 101.1 has been playing Christmas music 24/7 since Sunday. All I have to say is, dude WTF? In case they haven't seen a calendar lately, it's only FRICKIN OCTOBER. Geez, at least let us get Halloween out of the way before you inundate us with holiday cheer. My favorite Christmas song, O Holy Night, has already been ruined as I swear to God I've heard it roughly 75 times in the last four days. I've heard a medley of Celine Dion gems and don't forget all the Michael Bolton. For the love of God don't forget the Michael Bolton. I have now all but boycotted this station and am pretty pissed off about it because it WAS the only station in the mornings that actually played music and didn't have annoying DJ's with their stupid morning talk shows. Now I'm forced to listen to Phillips and Company (another crusty old man) on y98. I'm not happy about this little situation none at all.
Changing subjects, tonight is Book Club at casa de moi. I spent last night cleaning (when not watching the great debate), in my frenzy to get stuff done I accidentally knocked over a potted plant....all over the carpet. Nice, huh? To make matters worse? My vacuum has all but crapped out on me, so, ladies, if you see some dark streaks in the carpet that resemble soil, just look the other way, ok? Thanks. :) The cleaning actually put me in a good mood (strange but true) as I was finally motivated to put out my fall and Halloween decorations. See, I can be domestic when I want to........

Finally posting about my trip to Canada....
I've been a busy little bee since I returned from Canada, thus the lack of posting (sorry for that). But I'm back now! Holla! First of all, let me say that I had a FANTASTIC time in Canada, thanks to the greatest host ever! ;) I figured the best way to illustrate it is through pictures, which I took a lot of (I warn you now). So, let's begin, shall we?
This is Vancouver. Don't you just love it already? Absolutely gorgeous, I tell ya! It was also......quite cold. Now, I know DT didn't think so, but this American sure did. It was 9 degrees Celcius (I have no idea what that is Farenheit, however, suffice it to say, it was COLD-especially when I heard it was in the 80's back home. Nice.) Another view of Vancouver. Like the floating Chevron station? I kept saying it was ruining my shot.....Ahhhhh...Vancouver at night. Love it! Thanks to DT for actually getting a clear shot. Everytime I tried to take it, it ended up way blurry and looked like crap. Mr. Master Photographer finally got it right.....
On Friday night, DT surprised me with tickets to see my all-time favorite band, Weezer. OMG, you have no idea how cool that was. The show was amazing, we were nice and close and got to see the weirdness that is Rivers Cuomo, the lead singer. Adding to my Weezer story, on Sunday at the Sea-Tac airport, I ran into them (or at least 2/4 of them and their tour manager)! OMG, it was so cool. I saw the bassist Scott and walked up to him, we talked about the show, then someone behind me said "I was at that show Friday and I thought it sucked". When I turned around, I saw that it was the band's drummer, Pat, that had made that statement. Nice. They were very cool guys. I tried to not be all stalker fan on them. Hopefully I pulled that off. Anyway, here's some pics from the show.....
Rivers was wearing this weird thing over his head at the beginning of the show. You could only see his eyes. No idea.....Nice shot of the band with Tom (formerly of Blink 182, now of Angels and Airwaves) singing with them.Rivers playing the drums....switching it up!the band later changed into matching track suits....The next day, we went to the top of Grouse Mountain and got to see a real, live lumberjack competition. Yes, I said lumberjack competition. It was way fun! And our guy won! :)throwing axes is cool.....loved the log rolling. Good times!View as we were going up the mountain.. Another view of Vancouver from atop the mountain. Here I am channeling my inner Julie Andrews a la Sound of Music........ We also go to see some grizzly bears. There are two of them that live atop Grouse Mountain. They seemed fairly human friendly........they were WAY cool to watch.View as the sun was starting to set....isn't it beautiful? More views.this is the thing we rode up in.....the city of VancouverDT inside the gift shop showin' the bear some love.yep, I'm holding its paw.........me and DT. Aren't we cute???? :)and some more super cuteness.....DT, the barge pic is for you....... :)
