I kicked my own ass

I did-seriously. I went jogging last night after I got home from watering Auntie C's flowers. I pushed myself to go quickly because my Cubbies were on at 6:10 and I got home at 5:55. So, I tried to run most of my route rather than walk it, which went fine, I was able to do it. But let me tell ya-the rest of the night, every time I got up to do something, I was a' hurtin'! OUCH! I am too damn old, apparently.

So, I flipped between watching my Cubs (they lost, but whatever, that Phillies picture is KICK ASS!) and watching Age of Love. I hadn't seen it in several weeks, and was glad to see the Cougars hanging in there! That Amanda girl is a shady biatch! Tattling on what the other ladies said? Kinda immature, dontcha think? I think she may win though. Can't wait for the finale next week....

We are kinda hyper at work today. I had someone in my voicemail report that one of my patients has "fibromalaysia". Last time I checked, it was actually pronounced "fibromyalgia", but whatever. One of our MD's said fibromalaysia is what you catch when you are in southeast Asia......we ain't right. Thanks to Ywinta Jones for being my personal therapist today. What do I owe ya? I miss my Mikey Poo so much! It is soooooo not the same without him here!!!!!

Feelin' hot, hot, hot

Here are me and some of my girls from Friday night. From Left to Right: Allison, Tanya, Rebecca (holding Allison's trophy-HA!) and myself).

Good weekend. I am topping it off by working at the crisis line right now. Fun, I know. It actually isn't so bad-my girls are here. So, Friday was Girls Nite Out. Prior to that, I had to head on over to my sister's to Chloe-sit for the weekend. Chloe sure was excited to see her Aunt Kerri (well, probably she was just excited to see any human, but we'll pretend it was because she was excited to see me). Girls Nite Out was fun, wearin' our cowgirl hats out in public-SO not afraid to draw attention to ourselves! :) Friday nite I did not sleep well-it was hot at my sister's and I knew Chloe was gonna have me up at 6am (and not to disappoint-she did). So, Saturday morning I was a little cranky and sleep deprived, but I got up anyway, took care of Chloe then headed out to pick up Tagg and Mike and off to the Cardinals game we went. OMG-the game was great! The Cards were down 6-0 early, and I figured it was another freakin loss, but the Cards came back and beat those pesky Brewers 7-6. It was so exciting! The boys were a bit buzzed, I think, from the $8 beer. KD stayed sober-good thing, since I was driving and all! After the game, went back and took care of the girl again then went over and had a very nice dinner with Tagg's mom and stepdad. They were great and very nice. I think I did ok considering I was half asleep and still a little cranky......I was in bed nice and early last night, still didn't sleep too well, but am up and at 'em today. My Cubbies won already, now I'm at work. After work, I will go back to my sister's to feed Chloe her dinner, then go to Aunt Cheryl's to water her plants, then go home and jog and grocery shop. I really just wanna sit and/or sleep. There's time for that when I die, I guess.

Informer is STILL funny....

Why is singing that song so funny? Mike just almost peed his pants......it is now the song playing on my MySpace page, so now, others can enjoy it as well. Damn, I am STILL laughing.......

And now for the Gee Thanks Award, my sister and Jon have left a poop-ridden dog in my care for the weekend....GEE THANKS! :)

Just kiddin'

Ok, I was just kiddin' about that whole sweep thang. The Cubs apparently decided to take the night off last night. That, or Jason Marquis forgot what team he plays for now. Either way, it wasn't good. Not a huge deal in the scheme of things, since the Cubbies are still sittin' pretty. I will be cheering for the Cardinals this weekend as they are playing the Brew Crew. Tagg, Mike and I are going to the game tomorrow at noon-that should be fun.

Tonight is Girls Nite Out! YAY! I am very much looking forward to that! I will also begin my Chloe-sitting duties today and plant-sitting for Aunt Cheryl on Sunday. All that on top of having to work on Sunday. KD is a busy gal! :)

Red and Jon-hope you have a very safe flight to Dallas/back. Tagg, be safe driving back from KC. Everyone else-have a good and safe weekend! Hasta la vista!

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

Tagg told me he heard the Cardinals were gonna win tonight, so I shouldn't get my broom out to do some sweepin'......and then he woke up from his delusional fantasy (I think some Risperdal may help him with that). My Cubs are kickin' ass, y'all! And the Brew Crew lost last night! HELL YEA! The boys are only 2 games out of first place and only 0.5 games back for the wild card. Oh, it's gettin' good people, it's gettin' good! :) I am like a kid in a candy store, seriously. Can you tell I'm excited????

So, the crisis line was some good times last night. I got mostly frequent callers which is always fun-they entertain me to no end. I will be there again tonight for some more fun and excitement.

I think I was having weird dreams last night. I don't remember any of them now, but just have a feeling I was having them. I'm weird, I know.....So, I'm dog sitting for a dog that has tapeworm this weekend (sorry Miss Chloe Bear-you know your auntie loves you!), having girls nite out, going to the Cards game (where they had BEST win seeing as they are playing the Brew Crew and all), and working-all in one weekend. Should be great.

Ok, time for me to eat my breakfast-yuuuuummmm, dry cereal and Diet Dr Pepper. :)

GO CUBS!

A little slice of KD heaven

Tagg is good. He's really, really good. He knows the one way to get on KD's good side. Yes, that's right......Cubs tickets. Even better, Cubs-Cardinals tickets. Sneaky, but good.

So, I get this email yesterday around 3:30 or so saying he was able to score some last minute tickets to the Cards-Cubs game last night, that the seats weren't that great, but we were going. I was beyond excited-I mean, I was content to just watch the game on TV and yell obscenities from the comfort of my own home, but actually going to the game was nice too......So, as we get there, he keeps making comments about how we're gonna be up high so I'd better prepare to walk...I was like "whatever, that's cool", I was just so excited to be there to see my team that I didn't care if we were in the last row. We stop to get a beer and he asked me if I'd figured out where we were yet, as we were still on the first level. You know me, I was like "what?" (picture a confused look on my face). This is when he breaks it to me that our "not great seats" are actually TWELVE ROWS BEHIND THE CUBS DUGOUT. I told you this guy was good. I was like a kid in a candy store. I took pictures of all my boys (will upload soon) and was just beside myself with happiness. The game, of course, was not without drama (I have no idea why Soriano got a fourth strike on that last at bat), I mean, it IS the Cards and Cubs after all, but in the end, my precious Cubbies won the game 4-3. YAY! Too bad the stupid Brewers also won, so my Cubs are still 3 games out of first place. That's ok though. They are only 1.5 games out of the Wild Card. We are going to the Cards game again on Saturday thanks to Red and Jon-I'm taking Tagg and my precious Mikey Poo who will be going to his first game! Isn't that exciting?

Ok, back to reality now. Tagg is in Kansas City the rest of the week because............he's moving there. Yep, not the greatest timing in the world considering we just started dating, however, as I repeatedly keep telling him, Kansas City is not that far away......I see a lot of road trips in our future. Alright enough of that stuff (it's a bit of an issue right now), I must do some work. Gotta work both jobs today and tomorrow (yay me!) and then Friday night, Tanya, Allison and I are having Girls Nite Out (yay)-we are gonna wear cowgirl hats the entire night. Why? Why not?

What is wrong with these people???

Lindsay Lohan-arrested again......what is WRONG with this girl? She needs some serious freakin' help.....for real. I think she is different from Britney Spears, however. Britney is just plain garden variety NUTS. Lindsay needs to go to a REAL treatment center. It's actually quite sad. The therapist in me says look at her upbringing to find the answers as to why she is the way she is-allowed to work in an adult business as a small child, a dad who is abusive and a drunk himself, a mom who tries too hard to be her friend and not a parent-it's no wonder she turned out the way she did. It's a shame really, because she's a pretty girl and a fairly good actress. Hey, Betty Ford worked for Keith Urban, maybe she should try there next????

This has been the first edition of KD's Hollywood Minute. Stay tuned for more updates......

OMG-I am SO excited!

Why am I so excited, you may ask? Well....DUH! It's because my Cubbies are playing the Cardinals tonight. I know, it's the little things in life that make me happy. I can't hardly wait for the game tonight!!!!! GO CUBS!!!!! GO CUBS!!!!! GO CUBS!!!!!

I am determined to make today a better day than yesterday. Consider yesterday "the day from hell". It was one of those days where if it could go wrong....it did. Yuck. I ended up working late (which NEVER happens at my job!) and was OH SO thrilled about that....I did end up having a very nice dinner with Aunt Cheryl after a much needed drink (or as Aunt Cheryl said "let's get our drink on!") we walked down to Momo's, a great little Greek restaurant. It was sooooo yummy. The bellydancer freaked us out a bit, but other than that, it was a good time! Thanks for the chat, Auntie!!!

Today, I have attached a Happy Bunny keychain to my work ID. It says "I'm not mean, you're just a sissy". It's my new motto. Deal with it. :)

Cubs and Cards Tue, Wed, Thu...Who's ready????

I know I am!!!!!! Anyone wanna make any friendly little wagers? Hmmm??? Anyone? I'm gonna be in head to toe blue this week baby! GO CUBS!

could he BE any cuter? I mean, seriously.....

This is my friend Heidi's little boy, Gavin. I want to squeeze him-he is SOOOOOOOOOOO cute! I think he looks like his mommy (at least in this pic). I love him and I haven't even met him yet..... :)

Do I look scared?

Look at me! Look at me! Holding a newborn! Isn't it exciting? Hey wait-is that baby flipping me off????? Yep-she IS her father's daughter! HA! This is my new baby cousin (second cousin, technically), Taylor. Isn't she gorgeous? I finally got to meet her on Saturday at our Girls Lunch at Cheesecake Factory. LOVE her!

How was your weekend? Mine was good, although I was a bit of a Lil' Miss Cranky Pants on Saturday night (sorry Tagg). Friday night, Tagg and I went to play miniature golf. I was talkin' smack (go figure) and kept making Happy Gilmore references ("tap tap tap a roo"), and I lost by a freakin' point. Tagg got two holes in one, however, so the way I figure it, I actually won, because without them, he wouldn't have beaten me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. We then went out and had a couple drinks-I tried the new Miller Chill-LOVED it!

It has lime and salt in it-very yummy! Saturday was our Girls Lunch at the Cheesecake Factory-YUM! They give you so much food there, it is so hard to choose, all of it is so good! Loved getting to see everyone, but missed my sis and my mom! :( Everyone got to meet Taylor who was just a little angel the whole time! After that, I rushed home to watch the rest of the Cubs game and then ran some errands. Tagg came over that night after he got off work, we just chilled and watched tv.....and I fell asleep on the couch. Real exciting date, huh? Sunday was just a chill/errand day as well. I got my 3 mile jog in and that was about it. Now here it Monday again. Why is it ALWAYS Monday? I swear it is.....

I am having dinner with Aunt Cheryl tonight. I'm super pumped because my Cubbies are in town to play the Cardinals starting tomorrow night, THAT should be fun! You know how I love to talk smack! I can't wait. Well, for now, guess I'd better do some work. Happy Monday y'all!

Can you name the song?

It's a little wild and a little strange.....when you make your home out on the range.......yippee tai yai yay......like the cowboys sing (sing it again now)......watch out for those man eatin' jackrabbits and that killer cacti!

Anyone know this song? I guarantee my sis does...... Here's a pic of Ted today....yep, still hot! :)

Informer...da, ba, bo, booo de booo, a licky boom boom there...

Here is my sister's version of "Informer". I am seriously gonna wet my pants from laughing....

A licky boom-boom down

Remember that song "Informer" by Snow? You know, random white guy from Canada thinking he can rap/reggae? Uh......yea......Mike thought the lyric was "lick my boom boom down". Mike is a pervert. It is only 9:30am and I am afraid I have reached my peak of hyperness. Or maybe this is just a sign of a long day. There has been a lot of giggling going on AND I even got Amy to recite the entire beginning of "Let's Go Crazy" by Prince......gotta love Fridays! We tend to sing a lot in my office (with Mike typically leading the way), which I'm sure the people around us do not enjoy, although I sure do think it's fun! And, really, we don't care what anyone else thinks.....

It's Friday! It's Friday! It's Friday! Ok, not that it's THAT exciting, but whatever......have you been outside? It's GORGEOUS! Almost feels like fall rather than late July. I love it! I think Tagg and I are hanging out tonight, not sure what we are doing but I hear putt putt golf or bowling may be involved.....two new ways for KD to make an ass out of herself.....YAY! Tomorrow, we have our monthly Girl's Lunch-looking forward to that!

Well, I don't have much else to write right now. I'm gonna get back to my Diet Dr Pepper, Cheerios and crossword puzzle, if you don't mind. Toodles!

Dad would be pissed......

My dad has an issue with handicapped parking spots. It's true. Red and mom are laughing out loud right now because they know what I'm talking about....Anytime we would be in the car with dad and he's trying to find a parking spot he would, without fail, make a comment about "those damn handicap spots". He'd go on and on about how there is never anyone parked in them, so why can't he? It's a valid question, really. Dontcha think? What prompted me to talk about this, you may ask? Well, they just re-paved the parking lot at the crisis line and in the front lot the first FIVE spaces are all marked as handicapped spots. Dad would NOT be happy. I must say, I made the same observation dad does-there is never anyone parked in them. Not that it's a huge deal since I could definitely benefit from walking an extra 50 feet to the other end of the parking lot, but still. It's the principle, people!

I'm sleepy this morning. I have been struggling to wake up this week for some reason. Maybe it's the heat, I don't know. Whatever it is, I just dread waking up in the morning and hate even more than damn alarm. Why is the alarm such an unpleasant noise? Is that the whole point? That by making it such a horrible sound that you will have no choice but to get your lazy ass up and shut it off? I think I'm on to something here.....

I can't believe it is Thursday already. It's a good thing, because I am pretty much over this week. I'm tired of breathing in paint fumes at the office, tired of the general daily BS I have to deal with, just tired. I'm ready for the weekend. Tagg has suggested we either go bowling tomorrow night or play putt putt golf. Two "sports" I equally suck at, but love to play. Hopefully I'll have the energy to actually do something after work tomorrow. Then again, sitting on the couch reading appeals to me as well, but something tells me Tagg doesn't want to sit and read People magazine with me.......

TOO cute!

Could these girls be any more GORGEOUS???? They are my friend Val's girls-Claire, 6 and Sarah, 2 and-a-half. Looking at their pictures together reminded me of me and my sister at that age for some reason.....

smoking crack may affect your dreams at night

Did anyone watch Big Brother last night? It was some good times! The personality disorders run rampant on that show! That Jen girl is such a biatch AND she's dumb. SOOO not a good combo. I found myself having the urge to hit her, which probably isn't a good thing.....

So I had the weirdest dream last night. I rarely remember my dreams, but remember this one vividly. First of all, I was watching a Poison concert from my living room-yes Poison was outside my apartment (Amy says it's because I've been watching that Bret Michaels dating show on VH1-which is soooooo not true), I don't know why they were outside my apartment, but they were. As I was watching, I see my friend Mike walk by holding hands with Joe from Big Brother (the really obnoxious, super gay). When I told Mike about my dream this morning, he was upset and wanted me to change my dream so that he was dating the Big Brother hottie, Nick..........Mike I'll see what I can do tonight, ok????

I look like a giant watermelon today. I am wearing green capri pants and a pink shirt. I hope someone doesn't try to take a bite out of me..... :)

my second cousin Taylor

Yes, Aunt Cheryl, I stole these pictures from the family blog. I just realized that I didn't have any posts about my new little cousin on my blog-hell, I haven't even met her yet! Little Taylor is my cousin Jeff and his wife Jessica's beautiful little girl. She is six and-a-half weeks old now. Isn't she precious? I love the family shot-Baby Jeffy, you have a beautiful little family! I can't wait to finally meet little Taylor.

One of my bestest friends and her rugrats!

What a gorgeous family! This is one of my oldest friends, Elizabeth and her kids Anna, Emily, Connor and Erin. Is that in the right order, Lizzard????? The kids are GORGEOUS and so are you! I can't believe how big they are, you're right-they're not babies anymore! :( Anyway, just wanted to share! Lizzard, perhaps sometime when I go visit my sister in Texas I'll have to make a side trip to your part of the state! Miss you tons!

Alright stop, collaborate and listen....

Ok, been at work for an hour and I have already laughed about a million times. Yea, it's gonna be one of those singing days. Mike, Amy and I have already belted out a stunning rendition of "How Will I Know" by Whitney Houston, and Mike wowed us with the entire first verse of "Ice, Ice Baby" (currently the song on my MySpace page). Why, you may ask? I think the better question is-why NOT?

So, did anyone else get stuck in that traffic on 270 last night? Dude, it pretty much sucked. Apparently, they had the two left lanes shut down. SO not used to a traffic jam at 9pm. It took me over an hour to get home, I walked in the door about 10:15pm. That was sooooo not cool. But whatever. I'm over it.

Big plans tonight? Two thumbs down, not me! Since the nights I get to sit at home and do nothing are few and far between nowadays, I plan to fully take advantage of the fact that I have no plans. I am gonna go home and jog, then flip the TV channels between the Cubs game and Big Brother. It's a little slice of Kerri heaven. It really is. It's the little things people, the little things. Catch y'all later, I gotta roll.

Unstoppable Cubs seek fifth straight

Today's MLB story:

Fresh off Monday's 3-2 come-from-behind win, the Cubs are a season-high five games over .500 and 16-4 in their last 20 games. Their 26-12 record since June 3 is the best in the Major Leagues. "The chemistry is great, everything has been outstanding," said Monday's winner, Rich Hill, of the team's performance. "The pitching's been great, the fielding's been great, the hitting's been great, the bullpen, everything's coming together. You can just feel guys pulling together and pulling for each other as a whole."

Yes, I am beyond excited. It's not every day that a Cubs fan can be truly excited about their team. I know Mike hates it when I blog about the Cubs, but I can't help it Mikey! You just go back to singing Ice, Ice Baby aiiiiight????

Something Brewin???????

Here is a quote from the lead story on ESPN.com today about my precious Cubbies-"They aren't going away in the NL Central. Trailing 5-0 early, the Cubs rallied to beat the Astros 7-6 to complete a three-game sweep Sunday at Wrigley Field. Chicago is 15-4 since June 22...."

I am trying hard to not get too excited because, I mean, come on, they ARE the Cubs after all.....however, they are actually playing like a REAL team and it is kinda exciting....Tagg is trying to get us Cards/Cubs tickets...he has NO idea...I'm pretty sure he will regret going to a Cards/Cubs game with me....all decked out in head to toe blue...HA! My boys are 3.5 games back in the NL Central, only 3 back in the Wild Card race......the rest of the summer is gonna be some GOOD TIMES Y'ALL!

GO CUBS!!!!!

hodgepodge

Don't you hate it when you look at your alarm clock and see that it's 1:00am, that you haven't even fallen asleep yet and that you have to get up at 6:00am? Yea, I hate it too. Especially when I am super, super tired, but still can't fall asleep. That's a real pisser........

So, how was everyone's weekend? Mine was fun, thanks! Friday, Tagg and I went to see Powderkeg play-LOVED that kid on the fiddle! Wow-he sure is good! We had a great time......KD might have had a bit too much to drink....it may have been that jager bomb that did it, I don't know....hey, I wasn't driving! Needless to say, Saturday morning I was feeling less than great, but just had to go to Grayson's first birthday party (HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TODAY, MR GRAYSON!!!), he is sooooooooooo stinkin' cute! Book Club ruled the gifts with our present of his very first Radio Flyer wagon. Man, those things are pimped out nowadays! Geez! Remember your wagon as a kid? Made of metal, lead paint chipping off of it, your ass burning from sitting on that metal in the summer heat? Those were the days......the Radio Flyer of today is made of hardcore plastic....it has CUP HOLDERS and SEAT BELTS...what the?????? It also has a canopy attachment to protect your little head from the sun's damaging UV rays.....pretty sweet. After Grayson's party, I went home and basically napped on the couch all after noon. Hung over much? Uh......yea......

Yesterday, Tagg and I went to the Botanical Gardens....because walking around in 95 degree heat is fun, dontcha know???? Kidding! We did have fun, I wowed him with my knowledge of the quercus alba (aren't you proud of me daddy????? Your girl knows all about the white oak tree! Red-I verified the spelling on Google......) :) Actually, I knew several of the plants and flowers and confessed to Tagg my secret dream of wanting to be a horticulturist..... ;) After our afternoon of fun there, we drove out to Lone Elk Park for some elk/bison sightings.....I love that place, hadn't been there in a while, so it was fun to go back. All the elk were in the lake and the freakin' huge bison were laying in the woods with flies all over them...yum. We went back to his apartment after that to watch the Cardinals game in HD (where I joyously celebrated when they flashed the days scores and I saw that my precious Cubbie's had swept the Astros!), went to dinner, then back to my apartment where we watched hours of Cops...quite possibly the greatest show on Earth. Seriously, white trash at it's best! And one episode was a very special Naked Cops....very nice. By 11:00pm I was fading fast, and Tagg didn't want to be blamed for me being tired and crabby today (hmmmmm......someone's been reading my blog....), so he got the boot so I could go to bed. Of course, as you read in the beginning, I then couldn't sleep, so it was a moot point, but whatever.....

So, next weekend I will be Chloe sitting again! Red-is she super excited? Red and Jon have bribed me in the greatest way EVER. Baseball tickets......they DO know the way to a girls heart.... :) I am sooooooo super freakin' excited. You have no idea.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY today to my girl Sharon! You'll be gettting an email from me soon....hope all is well with you and those beautiful babies! I miss you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY yesterday to my girl Melinda-you, too, should be expecting an email...hope you had a fantabulous birthday. I wasn't able to email you then because I don't have a computer at home....miss you girl! :)

Well, this is gonna be a fairly busy week. Working at the crisis line tonite and Wednesday nite, got Book Club on Thursday night. Our family Girls Lunch is Saturday, I love it! Have a good week everyone. Ta ta.

I'm an a-hole

Hi everyone! How are all y'all? I haven't written in a couple of days, mainly because I was a crabby bitch yesterday. I woke up with a headache (which is never a good sign), it was coupled with some annoying, um, things going on at work. I'll leave it at that. Anywho.........so today is a much, much better day. It is Cardinals day at work, so good ol' KD made sure to wear her Aramis Ramirez Cubs t-shirt today. That's why I'm an a-hole (well, there are probably many other reasons, but that is the reason for today). Erin and our co-worker Jen are wearing Cubs gear as well and Michele is honoring her dad, Harry Caray, by wearing a Harry t-shirt, complete with the lyrics to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame"-the song that Harry used to sing during every 7th inning stretch at Wrigley. It's a good time today!

So, my newest tv obsession has got to be Big Brother. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up with it, however, as it is on three nights a week. That is just way too much to commit to (and we all know how I feel about committment....). That being said, Big Brother is an excellent study in human behavior. Oh, the personality disorders come out, that's for sure! That Jen girl has GOT to go. She is like the dumbest thing I think I've ever encountered, and now she is Head of Household! (HOH for those in the know). She is totally personality disordered and attention seeking and dumb-did I mention that?

Tonight, Tagg and I are going to see Uncle Jimmy's band, Powderkeg, play out at Capn Jack's. It's way out in BFE, however, the place is really fun and I always like seeing Powderkeg. I am attending Mr. Grayson's first birthday party tomorrow-I can't believe he is already 1! Wow! Sunday, Tagg and I are doing something, I'm not sure what, maybe go hiking or something outside. The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend (I think). Should be fun! Hope everyone has a good weekend and.........................GO CUBS! BTW, they are being called the "NL Dark Horse". Wait for it people, wait for it. :)

"Sunglasses at Night" won by a landslide...

Canada, I completed my research at this end, and apparently the best Corey Hart song OF ALL TIME is "Sunglasses at Night". Thanks for giving myself and my co-workers something to do on an otherwise boring day. You're the best! :)

Life lesson #1-don't F with a gay man....

I was told this today. Actually, the real quote was "don't f**k with a fag". Yikes. This sounds serious. I think I'm scurrrrred. See what I have to deal with at work? All this drama coming all the way from Kansas City. I told my reviewer today that we are officially breaking up. And I mean it this time!!!!! :)

So, I finally got some sleep last night (thank GOD!). I got home from the crisis line at about 9:45 or so, and I'm pretty sure I was asleep by 10:15. Tonight I plan to catch a bit of the baseball All-Star game and pretty much just chill.

I don't really have much to say thus far today. Just wanted to share another life lesson with y'all. Canada, I'll be working on the other 300+ life lessons for ya..........Life Lesson #2? Don't F with a Canadian......... :)

Life lesson #367-don't take two hour naps if you expect to get a decent night's sleep

Ugh, the last time I looked at my alarm clock it was after 2:00am. NO, I was not out partying, or hanging out with boys (ok, I WAS, but not at 2am!), I was just unable to sleep. My two hour nap from 4:30pm to 6:30pm may have had something to do with it....I'm not sure, but it may have.....I can't help it, after a three mile jog in the July heat, I get sleepy (Red, does this happen to you?). I slept so long that I laid down on my couch to watch "My Best Friend's Wedding" on USA and when I woke up, the movie had started over again! :) Oooops.....

Did everyone have a good weekend? Mine was fun, thanks SO much for asking! I did a whole bunch of nothing on Friday night, it was pretty cool. On Saturday, I was up bright and early for my special Day Of Fun with Mike. Mom-close your eyes right now and stop reading.....Mike and I went to Cheap Trix to de-virginize Mike. Oh you dirty perverts, stop!!!!! We went to get him a tattoo! Man, you people are sick! Anyway, it was Mikey's first tattoo adventure, Michele from work and Mike's room mate Tiffany went as well (Mike and his girls!) for moral support. Yes, I got another tattoo-it's a SMALL one, don't freak out party people! I'm not gonna turn into a tat freak or anything like that, I PROMISE I am done! Promise! Anyway, Mike got the Japanese symbol for "laughter" right on his ribcage-OUCH! Even the workers were like "dude, that's the most painful place on the body". But our girl was a trooper! At the end, Mikey got a Popsicle for being such a big boy! I was branded by a guy named Randy who made jokes about still being drunk...yes, that probably should have made me nervous, but it didn't. Randy was some good times. Especially when he sang. Anyway, my new star tattoo (yes, another one!) is on my lower belly near my hip. It is super cute. Really. After our tattoo adventure, we went to Chimichanga's for lunch where Mike drank the World's Largest Margarita. It was massive.

Saturday night I met up with the Book Club girls for Scrapmania (yea!) at Archivers. SO much fun. I got lots of scrapbooking done, even capturing the day's earlier tattoo activities-yea, I'm that good! :)

Yesterday, Sunday, was Mike's actual birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKEY POO!!!). A group of us went to brunch at the Crepery in Clayton (where we were graced with Will Letterman's presence-YAY!) and we all made fun of a hung-over Mike! :) Sunday afternoon I cleaned my apartment, jogged, took the aforementioned nap and then went and hung out with Tagg after he got off work. We ordered dinner in as I was feeling lazy and watched this show on Showtime called Dexter. Ever heard of it? It was pretty good, about serial killers and stuff. We had a nice relaxing evening. I completely lost track of time and didn't get home until 12:30 or so (oops!), Tagg emailed me bright and early this morning and took full blame for me being sleepy today....I'd like to blame him, but if I'm telling the truth, I'm sure my Rip Van Winkle-like nap was the actual culprit....Anyway, Tagg, good luck on your job interview today!!!!!

Well, I must go chug my Diet Dr Pepper and try to stay awake. I have both jobs today, which is probably not a good thing going on like four hours of sleep, but what can ya do? Happy Monday!

Kris Kross will make ya.....jump, jump

OMG, I heard that Kris Kross song "Jump, Jump" on the radio this morning. It's wigity-wigity-wigity wack y'all! :)

So, we are having yet another food day at work today (go figure!). We are celebrating my precious Mikey Poo's birthday, as well as our team lead Cathy's. We know Mike doesn't like to share the spotlight, so I brought him a very special gift-a birthday princess crown. Mike looked sooooooo perty! He paraded around in it like the true princess that he is. He now says it hurts, so I am not making him wear it anymore. Love ya Mikey!

I got a raise at my part-time job y'all! Woo hoo! I rock hard core! I mean, after nearly seven years of service, I think I deserve it-don't you?

Have you tried the new Cheerios? It's got like granola clusters in it. I am addicted. LOVE IT!

Know what else I love? The Cubs. Only 4.5 games back in the crappy NL Central. Total World Domination. Wait for it.

What is everyone doing this weekend? I am having some special fun with Mikey tomorrow and then tomorrow night is............SCRAPMANIA! Yea! Who's in? No? Ok. Trust me, it's fun, good times. Tonight will be an exciting mix of cleaning my apartment, doing laundry, eating fast food and reading People magazine. Jealous? You should be. Sunday, I am doing brunch with Mikey for his actual birthday, and I think am doing dinner with Tagg that night (since I haven't seen him since Tuesday). :(

Anyway, hope y'all have a good weekend. I'll try to do the same. GO CUBS!

fireworks, lightning and driving don't mix

Ok, so, driving home from work last night, I was able to see the fireworks from the various communities along the way (Creve Coeur, Kirkwood, Webster Groves, Fair St. Louis), it was very cool to be able to see them, however, I found myself thinking "Oh, how pretty" and then nearly driving off the road (not a good idea by any means). At one point I saw some very nice fireworks that were quite impressive (it may have been Creve Coeur's) and then I realized some of the "pretty pretty lights" were, in fact, lightning. NOT fireworks. Well, God's fireworks, I guess. I saw many cars pulled off on the highway to watch the displays. I, on the otherhand, managed to not swerve off the road, drove straight home and prayed my South City hoosier neighbors would stop shooting off fireworks sometime before 2:00am (hell, they've been shooting them off all week, so surely they were about out of them????).

So, it's back to work today. Traffic wasn't bad at all-think most people are just saying "screw it" and taking the rest of the week off? Wish I'd had that idea. Instead, I'm working both jobs today (somehow, I think the crisis line will be a bit busier tonight than it was last night. I took FOUR calls in FOUR hours last night. A bit on the boring side-so, me being the goofball that I am, I entertained my co-workers by putting American flags in my ponytail and parading around the office like I was Miss USA. You don't have to tell me, I already know I'm not right). I could be going to the Cardinals game with Tagg tonight, however, duty calls, must save mental health lives, dontcha know?

I can't think of anything else to ramble about right now as the Diet Dr Pepper has not quite kicked in. I'm sure I'll have some more pearls of wisdom later in the day that I will share with y'all. Stay on the edge of your seat.......

Happy 4th of July y'all!

Hope everyone is having a good 4th of July. I am spending it at work-yay for me. I've been here for an hour and have taken ONE call. Gonna be a loooooooong night.....Nevertheless, it's been a good holiday.

The fun started last night as Tagg and I met up with Red and Jon for drinks at Fandango's. We had so much fun! The boys got along great, Red and I yapped a mile a minute (and got just a wee bit tipsy.....), we watched my Cubs win and the Cardinals lose. Tagg and Jon talked about the mythical lands of South of Manchester and Florissant. They really do exist! :)

Today, I slept in a bit then tuned in to watch my Cubbies at 11:00am (a bit early for a baseball game, but whatever). They lost, but, again, whatever. They are playing so well right now that I'm not sweatin' one little ol' loss (and besides, the pesky Brewers lost today too!). After the Cubs game I went for a jog (I'm up to three miles y'all!) then went to the park across the street from my apartment with a blanket, a book and my iPod and just chilled for about an hour. It was heavenly, I tell ya!

I'm working 5pm to 9pm tonight-so no fireworks for me. I would prefer to be with Tagg at his dad's farm, but getting paid time and a half to play on the internet is pretty nice too...... :)

Age of love

Red, did you watch it last night? That Adelaide girl was so cocky thinking she was gonna win the whole thing and he gave her the boot! HA! She didn't even pack her stuff like everyone else did because she was convinced that she would be staying. That was some fun, good times! Love it. I still favor the Cougars, those young girls are just plain dumb and that one with the curly hair is just plain C-R-A-Z-Y (has she cried on every episode now? It's called "mood stabilizer", look into it, will ya????). Oh, I so love reality TV.....

No time to blog. Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Eric!!!

Didn't have time to blog yesterday-I was too busy training one of the newbies at work (I mean, how dare they not give me adequate time to conduct personal business at work????? The nerve!).

Happy Birthday today to my dear, dear friend Eric! Hope you have a good one homie! Only two short months until my trip to Chicago to see you! Hope you're having fun having your baby girl there with you!

Also, Happy Birthday yesterday to my friend Carrie's son, Parker. He is 8 years old-hard to believe that. Especially since I remember when Carrie was pregnant with him....damn, are we getting old, or what?

So, yesterday when I got home from work, I decided to push myself and jogged an extra mile (I normally do two miles, yesterday did three). Well, I was fine doing it, but this morning? Well...let's just say my OLD ASS is a' hurtin'!!!! Yikes! That's ok, I'll get back out there and do it again tonight!

Well, Tagg will be meeting my sister and brother-in-law tonight (whoa!), the four of us are meeting for drinks. That should be fun. The Davidson sisters will get drunk and a fun time will be had by all! Ha! :)

If I haven't mentioned it lately, let me do so now-I LOVE THE CUBS!!!! They are actually a game OVER .500. Watch out Brew Crew-watch out!!! Holla!

Canada-how was Canada Day? Did you make it to Seattle for the Blue Jays game or did you spend your afternoon sipping Molson and listening to Guess Who?????

Cubs win! Cubs win!

Alright boys! The Cubbies took 2 of 3 from the Brewers this weekend-good thing since they are chasing them down for 1st place. The boys are finally at .500 and are only 6.5 out of 1st. I love my Cubs!!!!

Last night was fun. The girls got to meet Tagg (did he pass the test? Erin's mom was ON IT!). I've never seen Erin's house so clean in my life! :) (Love ya Ern!) Chloe and I are just hanging out today, her mommy and daddy will be home tonight. She has been a good girl for her auntie. She let me sleep until 7am today-I will be forever grateful (said with a bit of sarcasm-I'm a little sleepy today).

Well, we have a holiday smack dab in the middle of the week this week. Tuesday night, Tagg and I are meeting Red and Jon out for drinks. Wednesday, the 4th, I have off from my day job, but have to work at the crisis line that night (hey, it's time and a half, I'll take it!!!). Friday, I think we are going out to see Powderkeg at Capn' Jacks-that should be good times.

I'm in a great mood now that my Cubbies won. I'll probably just chill the rest of the day with Chloe. Sounds like fun, huh? Yea, you're jealous!
