There is this blue van that has been parked across the street from me for about a week. I think people....and dogs....may be living in it. At first I thought none of it, but last week saw a man and a woman hanging outside of the van, letting their dogs do their business, tonight I saw the van parked in the same spot, the dogs frolicking inside....I know I have been accused by a Canadian That Shall Remain Unnamed of spying on my neighbors, but ya gotta admit, this is kinda intriguing. I mean, granted, I live in the city of St. Louis, but I live in the fairly nice part, so you don't typically see homeless people living across the street from you. Until now, that is.....I mean, what do you do about it? Do you report it to someone? Just let it go? Bake them a pie? I mean, seriously.......
Oh, and by the way, Happy 3rd Birthday to my blog. Yes, that's right, three years ago today I decided to share my mindless babbling with the world. YOU'RE WELCOME. ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBIN!
I'd write more, you know I love you, but I'm swamped today. HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I missed you Saturday! Love ya!

Let's talk about Dancing With The Stars, shall we?
Who cares about the dancing-Maksim had his shirt off tonight. I vote for him. Yowza.
I'm not gonna lie, this season is a HOT MESS. Yikes. I'm not as excited about it as I have been in the past. Maybe it's the cast of "stars" they have this season, I don't know. Let's break tonight's show down:
Toni Braxton-she did a pretty good job, but since she went first, I barely remember it.
Brooke Burke-she's still the one to beat. How she can be that hot after four kids, I'll never know. Life ain't fair.
Rocco DiSpirito-Oh I do so want him to do well because he's adorable. Unfortunately, he also totally cannot dance.....
Lance Bass-Ok, I'm just gonna put it out there-his partner Lacey looks like a man in drag. Then again, Lance may be in to that sort of thing.....I liked their dance even though the judges didn't.
Kim Kardashian-girlfriend can't dance, end of story.
Misty May-Treanor-for the love of God keep voting for her because her partner Maksim is hot. Actually, she did pretty well, although, I gotta be honest, she kinda looked like a dude in drag too....I think one of the judges called her "Xena the Warrior Princess". I'm not too sure that was a compliment....
Maurice Green-I still find him quite annoying, but I thought he did pretty good. Again, the judges didn't so much.
Cloris Leachman-Dude, what planet is that old bat on? I mean seriously? She is OUT THERE. She was surprisingly not horrible tonight, but still received the lowest score. I don't even know what else to say about her.....
Susan Lucci-I love you, Erica Kane! She did a pretty good job and her partner, Tony Dovolani has the whitest teeth I've ever seen.....
Cody Linley-the kid from Hannah Montana isn't too bad. I still have the urge to smack him, however.
Warren Sapp-Is it wrong for me to be crushing on him? How adorable is he? And for a 300 pound man, he can MOVE! His paso doble was really good! He's my favorite.
Can I comment for one minute on one of the ladies in the band? The lady wearing the giant headdress on her head? Do you know what I'm talking about? She kinda looks like a cross between a lion and Cleopatra......she scares me.
My guess for who's going home? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Cloris Leachman. Time to take your Aricept and call it a day ol' gal!

Allelujah! Rams fire Linehan...
Not even Trent Green's hot self could save Scott Linehan's job (hey sis, remember a few years back when they interviewed Trent Green and you said "hey Trent, why don't you take your shirt off and tell us about it?" Seems you've said that line a lot....to Mark Mulder, to Ty Pennington......). :)
Thank GOD the Rams fired this dude. The team may still not win any games, but I'm telling you he was a terrible coach. I mean, I'm no football expert by any means, I'm just sayin.....the Rams are the laughing stock of the entire NFL and, personally, I don't like it. I want them to win, I really do. And I want to see Trent Green take his shirt off.........

I cannot wait to meet this little guy or girl. The baby has already been nicknamed Blue (you're my boy, Blue!), I call it Baby B. I SOOOOOOOOOOOO can't wait to be an auntie. The only thing that sucks is that Baby B will live in Texas....guess I'll be racking up those frequent flyer miles!Red and Jon-I am soooooo happy for you guys! Jon-NOW can we start buying cute baby stuff??????????????
Weekend good times-Bye Bye Boobiefest 2008
As promised, pictures from the weekend for your viewing pleasure.
here is a lovely view of the St. Charles Oktoberfest. Isn't it groovy?
Miss Tanya sporting a lovely green Oktoberfest hat (I made her do it). Isn't she cute?
for Halloween this year, KD will be going as a garden gnome.....
my and my hot new man.......
if the garden gnome thing doesn't work out, I guess I could be a German beer wench for Halloween......
the lovely Missouri River...just threw that one in.......
Next are the pics from Bye Bye Boobiefest 2008. The title is in reference to a certain surgery that my friend Erin is having today (good luck with that...I lived through it and so will you! Enjoy the pain meds....).
We started the night at Fast Eddie's in Alton, Illinois. Here is the crew for the night, from left to right: me, Erin, Val, Ashley, Carrie, Sam and Mike, the token dude.
me and my Mikey....seems like we've posed for this pic before.....
After dinner at Fast Eddies, we moved on to Bubby and Sissy's-the one gay bar in Alton for Drag Show Saturday. Note the BOX of jello shots here. Carrie ordered 14 of them.......
Mikey with his giant Miller Lite.......
Mike and Val

Congrats Fatties...you've extended your season a whole three games....
The Brewers have got to feel awfully good about themselves right about now, taking 2 of 3 from the Iowa Cubs. Yea, you heard me right. Lou rested the main guys in favor of our AAA favorites to give our boys plenty of rest for the upcoming playoffs (Game 1, Wednesday, be there or be square!) . So, playing CC "Can a brotha get some rest up in here" Sabathia on three days rest YET AGAIN seemed like a good idea....I'll admit, Fatty did a'ight and the Brew Crew beat the Cubs despite the fact that the Cubs didn't even have a real starting pitcher pitch...yea, Lou (evil genius) started the game with one Angel Guzman (who?) and threw in such fan favorites as Michael Wuertz and my personal fave in the sucktastic department-Bob Howry. I swear to God if Howry makes the postseason roster I'm gonna hurl. Bobby, I know you suck ass, but did you have to give up a two-run homer to the biggest a-hole on the team, Ryan Braun (oh wait, maybe he's not the biggest a-hole on that team-he has a lot of competition.....)? Ick. It just makes me sick that the Brewers have made the playoffs, yet even more entertaining is the fact that the Mets did not....talk about monumental collapses. NO New York teams in the postseason? The baseball gods are too kind this year. Too kind. Ok, so here's how it breaks down, the Brewers are about to get their asses handed to them by the Phillies and the Cubbies will be battling Manny Ramirez and the Dodgers. Two interesting battles, I must say. Admittedly, the Cubs have not faced the Dodgers since the Manny era began, we shall see how it goes.
In other fun sports news, the Rams scored their FIRST first quarter touchdown today. In game FOUR. Yea, you heard me right. Wow they suck, but Trent Green may be my new hero. I found myself actually cheering for those yahoos today. I'm sure they'll break my heart.....0 and 4, anyone?
So, I must live two whole days without any Cubbie action. It'll be time to reflect on this 98 win season (YAY!) and mentally prepare for the Battle of the Ramirez'sssssss-Manny vs Aramis. Since I'm in love with Aramis, my vote is for him. Let's see who will be the better team in blue. I LOVE October baseball! (especially when my team is actually playing). :)

Das Oktoberfest!
Ok, so I totally didn't want to go out last night-after a WAY crappy afternoon at work that I won't rehash because it'll make me anxious again, I really just wanted to go home and isolate. BUT, a certain lil Canadian told me I should go out anyway....so, knowing I was risking him being right AGAIN, I went ahead and went out. And DAMMIT if he wasn't right.....I had a lot of fun.
Tanya and I were originally gonna do a trivia night last night (right Heidi?) but it got postponed, so we were in search of other ways to entertain ourselves. We found it in the form of the St. Charles Oktoberfest on the riverfront. Accompanied by Tanya's sister Andrea and her WAY adorable 2 year old nephew, Noah, we headed down to the riverfront...where our first course of action was to get me some food-I hadn't eaten all day thanks to said crappy afternoon and was cranky and light-headed and I'm pretty sure my blood sugar had dropped. Anyway, so we found some food and a great......polka band? Umm....sure. Noah loved it, he was dancing and clapping-so we followed suit! Afterwards, we spent some time walking around, looking at the different booths and, yes, acting a bit ignorant (pics coming soon...let's just say I was interested in trying on some of the German hats, and while I couldn't find any leiderhosen, I DID find a German beer wench dress and posed with it....anything for a laugh, I tell ya!). It was a fun night, and I was still home early enough to get my People magazine and catch the end of the Cubs game, which really, I wish I hadn't. Nothing makes my blood boil more than seeing the Fat Ass Brewers win-especially when it's against my precious boys in blue...it wasn't Game 1 starter Ryan Dempster's fault! It was the dudes-in-the-bullpen-that-won't-be-making-the-postseason-roster's fault. Yea, I'm talking to you Bobby Howry! Oh wait, did he even pitch last night? I don't think he did.....oh well, it feels good to take my wrath out on him anyway. :)

pig farms in the fog
OMG, I love my friend Michele, I really do. But sometimes, she makes even ME look smart....
So, Amy, Michele and I were downstairs working out this morning (upped the incline to 7 baby!) when I said "did anyone else notice that it smells like a pig farm outside?". Michele's response? "Yea, it was really foggy this morning". Ummmmmm.....what? Amy and I laughed so hard we nearly fell off our treadmills. Good times. ;)

Hold me closer, Tony Danza!
So much to talk about, so little time. So let's get started.......
First of all, does anyone know where I can get a used seeing eye dog? It's, uhhhhh.....for a friend. We really only need it during the allergy season, so if anyone has any info on this for me, I'd really appreciate it, because my Google search didn't really turn up too much and I'm afraid of Craigslist. Thanks.
I laughed a lot last night at the crisis line thanks to my girls Tanya and Heidi....and Alex using the stand up cubicle. What the f**k? They have created a computer station there where you...stand up? Why would anyone want to do this? Alex decided to try it last night and I couldn't even look at him without giggling. Well, that, and he offered us his nuts, but that's a whole 'nother story.....
I am entertained by my co-workers this morning. I love how they talk about the tv show The Office like it's real. Already I've heard "did you see what Michael did?" and "can you believe it about Ryan?". Um...I really don't have the heart to tell them that they are tv characters....
Thanks to 106.5 The Arch (and my office karaoke singing co-worker Heather), I have had "Tiny Dancer" in my head since yesterday afternoon. I may start banging my head on my desk if it doesn't go away soon.
CONGRATULATIONS RYAN DEMPSTER!!!!!!! What an amazing year he's had and he is being rewarded by getting to be the starting pitcher for Game 1 of the playoffs starting next Wednesday. Don't F it up, Canuck. ;) Lou Piniella is a smart man...he knows that Demp dominates at home, he also knows that Zambrano is half nuts and can't be trusted (lately he's making that no-hitter look like a fluke...). Ted "bad ass" Lilly or Rich Harden (another sneaky Canadian) would have been decent choices, but really the choice was obvious-Demp is THE MAN. Oh I soooooo can't wait......
Rarely has this ever occurred, but I think a lot of people will be cheering for the Cubs this weekend. They are playing the Fat Asses of Mil-i-wau-kee and, other than people in the Cheesehead State, no one else wants to see them win or make the playoffs. The boys in blue will do their best to oblige....they are clearly not afraid of Miller Park as they proved to the Astros during Hurricane-gate 2008 (are they STILL bitching about that????).
Ummmm....why does it smell like a pig farm outside my office today?
Got to chat with my Canadian last night, made my day (night?). TWELVE days till Canada. Think I need to work on speaking Canadian? What is the proper use of "eh"? Is there a time when it's NOT appropriate? Someone help me. Maybe I'll Google it.

Suck it, pond scum!
Oh, I do so love beating the Pond Scum. No matter that by beating them, the Cubs helped the Brewers move into a tie for the wild card (ick). Not concerned. Last night's game was just so much fun! And very nearly caused me to have a coronary. Thanks guys. So, I didn't get to watch the game until the 8th thanks to my 12-hour workday, but turns out the 8th on was the most exciting part anyway (I mean, who really wants to watch Big Z give up yet another grand salami? Not this girl!). Did my eyes deceive me or did Bobby Howry actually pitch out of a jam? Surely this is a sign of the End Times. Surely. Sure, Jeff Samardzija let the Pond Scum tie it to send it into extras, but no worries....right? The Mets totally should have won that game. I mean, how many times did they have their leadoff guy on 3rd and didn't score? Bases loaded and didn't score? Yes, the Mets (aka Pond Scum) did everything they could to give this game to the Cubs....and they did. Fast forward to the 10th inning....that sneaky little (and completely underrated) Ryan Theriot (can't stop The Riot!) steals second and gets himself in scoring position and D Lee brought him home with a snazzy little double. The final nail in the Mets coffin? My man Aramis Ramirez's little two-run homer. Nice. Kerry Wood completely shut them down in the bottom of the 10th and my Cubbies went on to secure their 96th win. For all my peeps over at cubblogging.com, my friend Erin and I ordered our "special" Mark DeRosa shirts...they should be arriving soon! ;) Oh I SO can't wait for October baseball.....but first, let's finish off the Mets today then BRING ON THE FATTIES this weekend!

My show is back!
Oh, I do so love Dancing With The Stars. I'm not overly excited about this season's "stars" (that word is used loosely), but whatever. Here is my recap:
Kim Kardashian-yes, she is hot (I say this in a totally non-gay way), but girlfriend can't dance. Even the awesomeness that is Mark Ballas can't make that happen.
Cloris Leachman-
this horrifies me in so many ways. One, she is 82 years old, so I'll give her kudos for trying, but my God, get that crazy old bat off the stage! I was embarrassed for her last night and if she shook her boobs at the judges one more time, I think I may have hurled. Nothing says "hot" like 82 year old boobs. Ew.

Ew.Lance Bass-he did ok, but I'm not overly excited about his partner, that dude-chick from So You Think You Can Dance. She could probably beat my ass in a back alley, however, so I won't talk too much smack.
Toni Braxton-she did ok as well but with a heart problem, she scares me. Here's hoping she doesn't pull a Marie Osmond and do some fainting out there...
Maurice Green-I find him to be obnoxious, so I hope he gets voted off soon. I had never heard of him previously, he is apparently some sort of athlete. I don't like him.
Brooke Burke-she was really good and hot (again in a totally non-gay way). I'm thinking she's an early favorite.
Rocco DiSpirito-
I have had a bit of a crush on Rocco for quite some time now, so I am loving that he is on this show. He isn't the greatest dancer on Earth, but was kinda sexy last night.....but is doing nothing to dispel the rumors regarding his sexual orientation......

Some kid from Hannah Montana? Aye, yay, yay, clearly I am getting old. I'm already over him, although I think he will stick around for awhile.
Susan Lucci-Oh Erica Kane, I do so love you on All My Children-I do, but girl, you can't dance. And she weighs all of 87 pounds, she looks like she's gonna break out there. She won't be on long.
Warren Sapp-
LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM! Who knew a 300 pound man can dance? He may be my favorite.
LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM! Who knew a 300 pound man can dance? He may be my favorite.Ted McGinley-who? Wasn't he on Married With Children? I found him to be mildly annoying as well. And his dancing was so-so. He won't be around long.
Misty May-Treanor-Ok, girlfriend is a bit mannish, but I am rooting for her simply because I am in love with her partner, Maksim. Last season was so sad and dark without him. He is h-o-t HOT, ladies! I had to wipe the drool off my face more than once.... ;)
I realize he kinda looks gay here.....
I realize he kinda looks gay here.....It's apparently on again tonight (gotta love premiere week!). I will be missing it, however, since I will be at my part-time job (I'm also missing my Cubs on ESPN which, really, may be a blessing in disguise. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO over hearing about 1908).

Taking applications for Cubs bandwagoners

Acceptance to the Cubs Bandwagon will be on a case-by-case basis this year. There are plenty of haters out there and I don't even wanna hear any of y'all cheering for the Cubs now. Not without my permission you don't! My friend Allison and her dad (a closeted Cubs fan) have made the cut, as well as my friend Michele (she gets a bye because her dad was Harry Caray). Will you?
I'll need your application in essay form, 100 words or less, indicating why you'd like to be on the Cubs Bandwagon. Note: people that like billy goats and/or black cats need not apply. Your application will be evaluated by the Cubs Bandwagon Acceptance Committee and you will be notified of the determination. There are no appeal options so all decisions are final. Thank you in advance for your interest in the Cubs Bandwagon.
Oh yea and..............GO CUBS GO!

Take me out to the ballgame
So, while I was gallivanting around Busch Stadium watching a game I could care less about (I mean, the Cards and Dbags? What the???? It was more about the quality time with my girl Tanya and her crazy Cubs fan sister, Andrea), apparently Jason Marquis was being all badass and stuff and hitting GRAND SLAMS in New York. Who know? You send a brotha back to his home state and voila! Magic. Needless to say, the Cubbies won last night, securing the best record in the NL and home field advantage throughout the NL playoffs. Yay! Let's look at some pictures, shall we?
Our driver, Tanya, rollin in her 5.0....
Tanya's sister Andrea, drinkin' the Beast Lite...ew....don't be fooled by her outfit-she is a total Cubs fan...with a slight affinity for Yadier Molina...try not to hold it against her.
Me with the Miller Lite I left in Tanya's fridge about a year ago....tasted ok, although I prefer Bud Select, but whatever.
scoreboard watching...this is after Marquis Grand Slam...I had my eye on the scoreboard all night...this girl has her baseball priorities in place!
Tanya wanted a picture of me wearing red...it totally wasn't in support of the Cardinals, but it sure looks that way....
Tanya and I....party pic!!!!!!!!
Oh, I DO love myself some Skip Schumaker...he is a cutie patootie. Do the Cubs need him?????
Why hello, Mr. Pujols!
It was pretty cool getting to see Brandon Webb pitch...he got win number 22 last night. Impressive.
This is for Tanya...she loves herself some Troy Glaus!
the stupid kids that were trying to get their section to do the wave...give them an A for effort...they tried for a good 20 minutes...they looked like they may have escaped from Salem, what with the NASCAR hat and missing teeth and all....
HA! Is that you Ti Ti??? Where you be going girl? OMG, this makes me laugh on so many levels, I don't even know where to begin with it....
Our driver, Tanya, rollin in her 5.0....
Tanya's sister Andrea, drinkin' the Beast Lite...ew....don't be fooled by her outfit-she is a total Cubs fan...with a slight affinity for Yadier Molina...try not to hold it against her.

Mappy Birthday Timbo!
Yesterday was my little brother's birthday...the big 2-5. Wow. I find that hard to believe since I still see him as little baby Timmy.......the title is in reference to the cake mom and I made for him. Somehow, I got put in charge of decorating the cake, and my mom had purchased some contraption that is supposed to make cake decorating easy. Um....whatever. So, I start to write "Happy Birthday Tim" on this cake in yellow icing....the icing came out a bit faster than I expected and admittedly, it looked like a hot mess and did appear to say "mappy". Everyone was making fun of it which prompted me to yell such things as "shut up I hate you all" and "I'm never decorating a cake ever again", which just prompted everyone to make fun of me/the cake even more. Judge for yourself.....
Clearly, I am no Betty Crocker...So....hope you had a very Mappy Birthday Tim! Enjoy your super-nerd Harry Potter boxed set..........
check out the mismatched "2" and "5"It was a good weekend with the fam down in the big town. There were, of course, several trips to the Salem Wal-Mart and the customary 6:20am wakeup call from dad so that we could go into town and eat breakfast (grrrr...unfortunately for me, thanks to the noisy-ass dogs, I was already awake). I watched a lot of Cubs baseball...and yesterday, we sat painfully through the Rams game (0-3 boys, way to go!!!!). Here's some pics of the birthday boy.....
Um, Tim, whatcha readin???
Not sure what is going on here.....
it's Princess Stubby, trying to be cute...
more with the cute....she clearly has learned that cute will get you everywhere in life....
here's the dogs wrestling..I don't know why I always find this funny....

Saturday night, my mom made Tim and I sit through this show called The Locator. It's about a dude named Troy (it's all about the ratings, mother f***er!!!! Right, Tim???) who helps reunite families-so people that have been adopted find their birth families and stuff like that. Watching this show prompted me to announce that I, too, planned to find my birth family. Not skipping a beat, my mother says "I already know who your birth parents are....they're apes". Which prompted us both to giggle lots. She then told me I could find them at the St. Louis Zoo. I then notice that apparently my parents calendar is from the Wild Animal of the Month club and September's featured animal was none other than an orangutan and her baby....this gave KD an idea. I grabbed the calendar and found my brother (who had escaped momentarily) and announced I had a picture of him with his birth mother.....he didn't find it nearly as funny as my mom and I did.....not sure why.

Go Cubs Go!
So, two fabulously awesome things happened today-1. I got to talk to my Canadian on the phone and 2. The Cubs clinched the NL Central for the second year in a row. Good day for yours truly, huh?
I got my wish-to watch all the post game celebrations-complete with Jim Hendry getting champagne poured in his eye by one Ronny Cedeno, to see not one, but two Mark DeRosa interviews (I was sooooo channel flipping between WGN and Fox. I mean, DUH!), and to muddle through a Carlos Zambrano interview (no idea what dude was saying, but who cares???). :)
The game started well, the Cubbies built a five run lead, Ted "bad ass" Lilly was lookin good, the Cardinals left fielder was lookin real bad, the Brewers were losing to the Reds-in other words, everything was falling into place. Then came the "attempted comeback". The Cards thought they'd try to make things interesting by scoring four runs to make it 5-4. Hold your horses, said Mr. Lilly, I don't think so. Bring in the Marmolade to hold down the lead in the 8th and then.....it's Kerry Wood in the 9th. My nervous ass was sitting right in front of the TV on the living room floor, seriously about to hurl. Kerry Wood has a habit of either making you love him or totally wanting to punch him in the nose after a blown save-I was hoping for the former. Needless to say, Woody took care of bidness and the champagne corks were popped. I sang "Go Cubs Go" with the rest of Wrigley Field (yes, from my parents living room floor-you got a problem with that???). My brother decided he was done watching and went to sleep (this is when I commandeered the remote and began my hour of channel flipping). LOVED the player interviews! Oh it is sooooo my favorite part.......

Don't know who they will be playing in the first round quite yet, still have another week to prepare but I'm telling you, this team is ready. Go Cubs Go indeed!

Clinch it, clinch it good!
Sorry for the bad Devo reference, but it had to happen. I can't control what I type. Oh wait, yes I can....
So, the Cubbies (more than likely) are gonna clinch the NL Central this weekend. I do hope it's tomorrow as I want to be able to watch the champagne celebration (nothing's hotter than a bunch of baseball players drenched in champagne and beer....especially when those players are the Cubs). A special shout out needs to go to Prince Fielder and his band of merry men-thanks for the memories boys, thanks for the memories...... ;)
Big weekend coming up? Well, around here in KD Land, we have, of course Cards/Cubs/clinching baseball, my trip to the big town of Salem and, of course, my baby brother's 25th birthday on Sunday. Big, exciting stuff!
Michael Earl-thanks SO much for getting "The Final Countdown" (by Europe, is it?) in my head. I owe ya one.
19 days till Canada.......... :)

Holy s**t, I missed it!!!!!!

So, there I was, following the Cubs game online since I'm a cubicle rat during the day (as most of us are), the score was 6-2 Fatties in the 9th, so I figured I was safe in assuming that the Cubs magic number was gonna remain at four (remember what they say about "assuming".....). Anyway, so, imagine my surprise when later, I'm at the mall, buying my mom and I some lovely scented products at Bath and Body Works, I suddenly get this text from Erin saying "Cubs win!". My exact response was "WHAT???". She then filled me in on the details, about our 2008 Rookie of the Year Geo hitting a 3-run homer to tie it, and then D Lee winning it in the 12th. And all I can say is, there's always next year, Fatties. Goodbye, and....good riddance!
Now on to the Cardinals.....I'd kinda prefer the Cubbies clinch on Saturday as opposed to tomorrow. See, the Saturday game is the Fox game of the week, on at 3pm local time, and I'm gonna be watching the game with my dad and brother (both huge Cardinal fans). Wouldn't it be fun to get to watch the Cubs celebration with them? Nothing says "Happy 25th Birthday, little brother" quite like sitting with him watching the Cubs celebrate the NL Central championship, dontcha think?

Not even worried
Is it a bit concerning that the Cubs loss last night was still mildly entertaining for me? I mean, as the Brewers acted like they just won the World Series, I just sat there smiling....let them celebrate tonight, I thought, it's just delaying the inevitable and now the Cubs will (more than likely) clinch the NL Central this weekend against the Cardinals.....I personally dig that. I'll be at home this weekend with my Cards lovin' family....I'll try not to gloat too much (and really hope my dad won't turn the channel when they break to the champagne/beer drinking celebration in the locker room after the game...nothing says "fun" like watching Sweet Lou throw back a cold one). Yea, so the Cubbies lost last night. I'm ok with it. As long as the losing streak stops at 1, that is.....I mean, sure, Jason Marquis had a couple of good games there for a minute, but lets face it, him giving up three runs in the first inning shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. I mean, it's Jason Marquis for God's sake. Look at what I found, a picture of the Prince (AKA Princess, AKA Fat Ass, AKA....well, lots of other mean stuff), before he fell into the category of "morbidly obese baseball player" and before he got all the tats.....
This may have been his senior picture from high school for all I know....I hate him. Ok, "hate" may be a strong word, but I really, really, REALLY don't like him.....

Just call me "Kimberly"....or "Bobbie"....or whatever
So, apparently, my name is hard to remember. Who knew? I have a reviewer in Tennessee who insists on continuing to call me "Kimberly" despite having talked to me at least a dozen times now and each time I made sure to clearly state that my name is, in fact, "Kerri". Today a different reviewer ended our call with "Ok Bobbie, well have a great day". Um...Bobbie? That ain't even close people! I admit it's pretty funny, but still, come on-get it together people!
I'm totally breathing in paint fumes today at work. I think I catch a contact high every time I walk down the hall to the bathroom (which has happened several times today thanks to the downing of my 44 oz Diet Dr Pepper AND a big cup of tea). Nothing like a paint contact high/headache to make your day complete!
So, I'm contemplating excuses to call in sick to my part-time job tonight because my precious Cubbies are on ESPN. Ooooops, did I just give myself away? DAMMIT. Guess I have to go work now...it's just as well, we all know I hate the ESPN announcers. Or is it just the Sunday Night baseball ESPN announcers I hate????
The Cubs magic number is down to FOUR. I love it! It's so much fun still caring about baseball in mid-Sept! God knows the Rams have given me nothing to look forward to (that 0-2 record is impressive. No really!) and hockey hasn't started yet. The baseball playoffs start Oct 1....do I smell a Cubs/Dodgers series? Bring it Manny! Bring it!

CC ya later!
Ah...nothing makes me happier than seeing the Cubs beat the Brewers (well, except for maybe seeing the Cubs beat the Cardinals.....). Even better? Seeing the Cubs beat CC "the cheeseheads think I'm God" Sabathia. Perhaps this is the good karma I was referring to in today's previous post.....of course, Kerry Wood had to try to make it interesting and give up a run in the 9th to make it a one run game. Let me ask you this, Woody....are you TRYING to cause me to have a heart attack at age 32? Now, I'm fairly healthy for a old gal, but I swear you are gonna send me to an early grave.......Aramis Ramirez-LOVE it! Could he have been a bigger stud tonight? Ryan Dempster-I take back all the mean things I said about you last season. Hank White-I am SOOOO a member of your fan club! (besides if I'm not, he could hunt me down and kill me...you don't mess with a man with tats and a mullet).
The Cubbies magic number is shrinking by leaps and bounds. At this rate, they'll clinch before the red birds come a' callin' this weekend....and I'm ok with that.
In other news, I must report that one of the shows that makes me cry EVERY FRICKIN WEEK is back on the air. Yes, that's right folks, The Biggest Loser is back. This time it's families competing. And, yes, I did cry tonight. It's what I do. Moving on.......On 90210 it was revealed that Dylan is Kelly's baby daddy which prompts me to ask-so when in the hell is Luke Perry making a cameo? If you want me to keep watching, I demand that happen. Thanks.

Life lessons learned the hard way
Ok, so there I was, driving to work this morning, minding my own business. I saw that traffic was a bit heavy on Hwy 40, so as I was making my way down the highway, I let not one, not two but THREE cars in ahead of me, figuring good karma would have a way of coming back to me, I mean, after all, I was being a really GOOD person letting those people in, especially the Hummer that was driving up on the shoulder. So, when it was time for me to get over a lane, did anyone let me in? HELL NO. Which prompted me to learn my life lesson for the day: People, in general, are assholes. It's sad but true. My co-worker Julie assures me there is no timeframe on the good karma, so perhaps mine is still coming, I'll just have to wait and see. If I could choose what form it'll take I'd like to see it in the form of the Cubs sweeping the Brewers this week. Thanks karma.

Ted Lilly is more of a bad ass than Chuck Norris
In one-to-one combat, Chuck Norris vs Ted Lilly, my money is on Theodore Roosevelt Lilly. Every time. Chuck Norris, if you're reading this, I didn't mean it (Chuck Norris could SOOOO beat my ass).
So, apparently Ted was all "hey man, Big Z got a no-hitter so I'm gonna get me one too". Well, not quite Teddy, not quite, but a ONE-hitter will do just nicely. Yes indeedy, beating the Ass-tros two in a row is not too shabby. Especially given the time of year it is. Speaking of, let's talk about the fun that is the Brewers firing Ned Yost. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't see this one coming. And Ryan Braun saying "hey, something had to change". Whoa dude! Where's your loyalty, huh? By the way, can the Cubs borrow your nice little domed stadium for the rest of the season? Thanks!
The Cubbies won their 90th game today. Mama like.
Still not over it
This has got to be my favorite picture capturing Big Z's amazing night last night. Will ya look at that-hugging his manager? LOVE IT! I'm still reeling from the no-hitter last night, my work has taken a backseat to all the internet coverage of last night's game. I've read just about every article out there, I think the most amazing part was reading stltoday.com and reading all the comments from the hateful Cardinals fans. I guess it's easy to be hateful when your team is, what, 10.5 games out of first? Shows some real poor sportsmanship if you ask me. Hell, when Jon Leister got his no-hitter earlier in the season, I was happy for him and I can't stand the Red Sox. Instead of hatin', why don't you just be happy for the person? It's a remarkable feat for any pitcher...it just so happened to be a Cubbie this time. Deal with it people. We won't let the haters rain on our parade! GO CUBBIES!!!!!Sunday, September 14, 2008
Big Z with the NO HITTER, baby!

OMG, are you freakin' kidding me? Carlos Zambrano, Cubs pitcher extraordinaire, got himself a no-hitter tonight. A freakin NO HITTER. Against the Houston "Don't look now but we're up your ass for the Wild Card" Ass-tros. Fan-freakin-tastic. As I watched the bottom of the 9th, I alternated between having sweaty palms and having the urge to pace the room. Hell, I may even have thrown up in my mouth a little. But as I saw that Ass-tro tool swing at a way crappy pitch, reality set it-Carlos Zambrano-a man who is arguably the craziest player the Cubs have ever seen (it is entirely possible that he is the craziest that all of Major League Baseball has ever seen)-had just scored himself a no-hitter. Do you know how hard that is to do? Especially against a team that's as hot as the Ass-tros are? Never mind that the Cubbies won their 89th game of the year. I'm so excited about the no hitter that I won't even make fun of the Brewers tonight and how they have lost their Wild Card lead by losing four in a row to the team chasing them. No, I won't mention it at all...........
Congratulations, Big Z and the rest of the Cubs. Tonight was the best Cubs game I've ever watched (SO FAR). :) I am not ashamed to admit that I teared up a bit and got chills...especially when Big Z dropped to his knees and the rest of the guys ran out to celebrate with him. Ah, good times, good times. This girl is going to bed a very happy Cubs fan tonight! :)

I couldn't have scripted it any better
Yes, this is a closeup of my boobs...deal with it....Picture this-bottom of the 9th, Cubs are up by 1, Cards have two on, two out and Albert "God loves me more than he loves you" Pujols is up to bat. Making matters even more tense, the Cubs have Kerry Wood pitching. Given his penchant for giving up 9th inning leads of late, I was fairly sure that last night's game would be no exception. In fact, I'm pretty sure I had a mini-stroke at some point during the 9th inning. As Cards fans chanted "1908" (REAL original guys....no really, haven't heard that one before) and Cubs fans countered with "4th place, 4th place" (which made me giggle), the heat was on.........and luckily (thanks baseball gods!), the Cubbies won 3-2, taking the series.........which prompts me to belt out the chorus of "Two Outta Three Ain't Bad" by Meatloaf (as promised!). I think at one point I offered to sleep with Alfonso Soriano after that game saving catch in the 8th inning.....sorry Alfonso's wife. I may have also made a similar offer to Carlos Marmol....I'm just sayin'. Oh I do so love September baseball...especially when my team has a 5.5 game lead in their division....... ;)
Oh dear God, get that song out of my head!!!!!!!!!! I want you, I need you, but there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you.......now don't be sad, cuz two outta three ain't bad......
Pictures anyone?
here are the Cubbies warming up...don't ask me who's who because I was so high up in the stands that the altitude had changed...I was getting light headed and dizzy just trying to focus to take the picture....
The STL at night.....I still love my city, even if I don't love the baseball team here....
Look! It's that sexy bitch, Aramis Ramirez...this was super zoomed it, it was the best I could do....
You have no idea how many pictures we took trying to get a decent one of us.....probably the constant giggling didn't help......

I am apparently gonna be Cub-less until Monday thanks to Hurricane Ike and the Ass-tros being big babies, refusing to play at a neutral site this weekend. Apparently, they take home field advantage seriously. I mean, who wants to play in their stupid field anyway? There's a giant hill in the outfield for God's sake. It's just not normal.
On a more serious note, I do hope my family in Houston is safe and hurricane free.........

Ted Lilly is a bad ass!
No, I am not evil enough to want Yadier Molina to be hurt (I'm a peaceful fun-loving Cubs fan for God's sake!), but my goodness did I love myself some Ted Lilly last night! Hey, he even said he didn't try to hurt Yadi The Hottie (who is SO not hot, by the way), he was just trying to score. Can't blame a man for tryin! Much as Kerry Wood tried to prevent it from happening, the Cubbies actually won last night, beating the Cardinals 4-3 (Woody needs to get it together ASAP!). The boys are going for the series win tonight and I'm hoping Erin and I will be able to provide some much needed luck as we will be at the game tonight. I've got my Aramis Ramirez shirt all laid out (complete with my long sleeve Cubbie blue shirt as it's gonna be a bit chilly tonight), my Cubs hat is in the car and I've been praying to the rain gods all morning that this heinous rain/drizzle stops. Not only is it threatening the game tonight, but it is totally wreaking havoc on my allergies. You try sleeping when you can only breathe out of one side of your nose, contemplating when you can take your next Benadryl dose. Speaking of Benadryl, Mike took some today....at work. He's a little loopy. Or loopier than usual, anyway. It's pretty damn funny. ;)Yesterday I had the Day From Hell. I am bound and determined to make today the opposite of that. Wish me luck.

Pics, pics and more pics!
Lot's o' random pics for ya...I finally got off my lazy ass and decided to post them....sorry for the randomness. Let's start with some fun from my few days back home in Salem right before Labor Day weekend. The original plan was for my brother and I to go floating. Rain had a different idea, however, so we had to come up with other ways to entertain ourselves. And that we did....
Is this supposed to be his Heisman impression?
Yes, that is a Smoky the Bear figurine posing with my brother....
LOL...this is some Norman Rockwell figurine that my mom has in the basement....Tim and I thought it would be funny to pose with it...
he's a thug, yo
Ha, ha, HA! Tim and I found this giant oar in the basement and thought it was hilarious...it's apparently some retirement gift my dad received from his former co-workers...clearly it has a place of distinction in the "work" side of the basement....
Only YOU can prevent forest fires!!!
Not sure why I'm posing with a football...
Tim and I found the Progressive Ozark Bank hats hidden in the closet. Why are those things so freakin' funny????
I took lots of pics of that sassy dog, Stubby. Here are a few:
showing off her girth....
refusing to look at me.....
this look says "get the F out of my face". Stub was gonna write her own blog post, but she has turned down that opportunity at this time. Seems she's too busy sleeping....and eating...a lot.
On to other things from that weekend.....Mikey and I went to the Gay Rodeo (it has now become our yearly tradition). We missed our favorite event-the goat wrangling, but we still had fun:
check out the rainbow flag, y'all!
I'm still mad at Mike for this one.....
Me and my Mikey Poo
The fun continues....here are some pics from the fam picnic at Shaw Park for Labor Day....
Grandpa holding little Miss Taylor...now that she can walk she's a wild woman!
Taylor playing with Sophia
Could she be any cuter?
my sis and mama
Aunt Paula and Uncle Jay wowing us with their Chucko play...
Uncle Jimmy and Patrick workin' the Chucko....
Nice form, Red!
my sister and her hubby Jon
me with my favorite girls....I'm the chunky one on the left.
me and my beautiful sis
Ha, ha! LOL! I love my Aunt Jan.....she had an interesting approach to her Chucko game...
my cousin Kelli and Aunt Mary
And last, but certainly not least, here are a couple pics from last weekend. Our friend Melinda was in town from Vegas and Mikey and I met her for dinner at McGirks in Soulard.
Mike and I....loving the hat, Mikey!
Melinda, Mike and I...it was kinda chilly outside that night.
Mikey is SUCH a ladies man! ;)

my cousin Kelli and Aunt MaryAnd last, but certainly not least, here are a couple pics from last weekend. Our friend Melinda was in town from Vegas and Mikey and I met her for dinner at McGirks in Soulard.
Mike and I....loving the hat, Mikey!
Melinda, Mike and I...it was kinda chilly outside that night.
Mikey is SUCH a ladies man! ;)
It feels like fall.......
I am in mourning and trying to heal my broken heart all at the same time. Are the Cubs trying to kill me? Because if they are, it's gonna be a slow, painful death. Last night's game goes right up there with some of the more heartbreaking games in the history of the world......not only did they lose in the bottom of the 9th AGAIN, but they lost to the Cardinals. Double whammy. I'm angry and bitter. The only saving grace is that the Fat Brewers also lost, preserving the Cubbies 4.5 game lead in the NL Central. I suggest the Cubbies start playing like a playoff worthy team like NOW, because it ain't gonna get any easier......I have people coming up to me at work today offering me their condolences, some are laughing their asses off (a particular doctor that REFUSES to write me a script for Xanax), some are truly devastated like me (Michele and Ruben). I have to admit, this is fun, but it would be WAY more fun if the Cubs could actually win one....or two, while they're in town.
On to more fun things, like.....this weather. I LOVE IT! It was a cool, crisp 57 degrees this morning...I'm in long sleeves, jeans and......flip flops. Yes, I cannot give up my beloved flip flops, at least not yet. Granted, my toes may freeze off, but that's a chance I'm willing to take. I heart flip flops.
I woke up this morning with the realization that it's only Wednesday. I was really hoping this week was a bit further along than it actually is. That was rather disappointing.
Mike Tinnin is officially on my nerves today.

my gnarly pits
The title is in reference to a Mike Tinnin quote from today. I have no idea what he was actually talking about, nor do I know why he was talking about it. It is what it is.
OMG I am filled with anxiety. The Cubbies are in town to play the Cardinals. Ordinarily, I would be filled with much excitement at the thought of my boys coming to town, ready to beat the hell outta the red birds, but this time, I'm not feeling so confident. Given the way the Cubs have played the last week and a half, nothing is a guarantee. Nothing. I'm not asking for a sweep (that would be greedy), just the Cubs taking 2 outta 3 will suffice. Thanks.

It hurts
I am seriously having a "Dude, what the f**k" moment with the Cubs. The losing streak has now gone to SIX IN A ROW. Um.....excuse me? I think last night's loss was the worst of them all.....as it was to the Reds. The REDS? Come the f**k on people!!!! How is this happening? Are cosmic forces aligning? Are billy goats everywhere getting ready to make a move? Is the curse real? Did they finally find Jimmy Hoffa's body? All these things cross your mind...for a moment...then you realize there is no such thing as curses and all that silly stuff and that it boils down to one fact-they are just playing like shit right now. Plain and simple. Now, I still love my Cubbies, don't get me wrong, but boys-if you need assistance with getting your heads out of your asses, let me know. I'm here to help. I'm a bit frightened that today's chance at redemption falls into the hands of Jason Marquis (always a scary prospect). I'm also a bit concerned because the boys will be here in St. Louis next week and playing like this, they are making me a bit nervous. I HATE seeing them lose to the Cardinals....so here's hoping they snap out of this funk real soon and start a winning streak just in time for their stop in the STL on Tuesday........HOLLA! :)

Julie-I know your day will be wonderful-spending it at work with me, Mike and Amy....it's every girl's dream! ;)

American Invasion
Uh, I don't even know what to say about the Cubs right now. Losing five in a row....at home....to the Assholes, uh, I mean the Astros? Are you frickin' kidding me with this? Where is my Super Team? What has happened? Big Z has some mystery ailment (read: mental), Ryan Dempster suddenly looks like the closer he was last season (read: NOT good), and Rami, D Lee and Soriano can't hit themselves out of a paper bag. Dude, WTF? My co-worker Ruben (also a Cubs fan) just hung his head when he saw me this morning and said "I don't want to talk about it". This is bad people, real bad. My hope is that this is the one and only slump we've been waiting all season for them to have and that it will be short-lived and they will be back in winning form just in time for October....if they make it to October. Did someone let that damn billy goat in the park again?

So, I've finally booked my flight to Canada. I know, I know, it's very exciting. Actually, it is. I can't wait to see that sassy Canadian boy! :) It's still a month away, but I am officially on the countdown. I am supposed to be doing some Vancouverian research to see what I want to do while I'm there ("Vancouverian" is the second word I've made up this week. The other being "cryingingest"). I'll get right on that. I'll tell you what we will NOT be doing, and that is going on that damn suspension bridge over the Capilano river, that's what. I braved that thing the last time I was in Vancouver and it about made me wet myself. No thank you.
Does THIS look like fun to you? Especially when you have a sassy Canadian behind you jumping on the bridge to make it sway....Oh Lord, I'm getting anxious just thinking about it. I can't believe I actually walked across that thing!

I can't believe I actually walked across that thing! Let's change subjects for a minute and talk about the train wreck that is the new 90210. Ummmm....I'm not sure how I feel about it. It was, for the most part, terrible. Although I did love seeing Kelly Taylor (and come on, we all know her baby daddy is Brandon) and Brenda Walsh (lookin a big rough...I'm just sayin'). Bring back Dylan and Steve Sanders and we've got ourselves a deal. Otherwise, I think I may be skipping this one as part of my arsenal of must see shows......(among them: Dancing With The Stars, American Idol and, of course, Baseball Tonight).
Toodles people. I'm out.

Whew! What a day!
I'm spent. What a day here in managed care land. I anticipated it being busy, what with the holiday, new business and old business going away and all, but totally didn't anticipate having EIGHTEEN cases. In all my time here we've never had that many. I'm not complaining, however. At least I still have a job......That being said, it was still a very busy and hectic day. I'm just about caught up and am gonna go work out after work-work off some of that stress.
Ok, so the Cubs are hardly ever on WGN anymore, so why is it that they have to be on tonight when its the new 90210 premiere????? I mean, how is a girl to choose?????? I need to see Kelly Taylor and Brenda Walsh, I NEED to. I also need to see the Cubs try to redeem themselves and stop losing. Channel flipping it is. :)

Ummm......
So, I just witnessed the Cubs losing their third straight game....at home. WTF? That doesn't happen. At least this season it doesn't. And to the Ass-tros? Really? Roy Oswalt can kiss my rosy red behind. And Lance "I have a big giant head" Berkman can kiss it as well. Not that I'm angry and bitter about this loss, mind you. Granted, the Brewers also lost, so the Cubbies 4.5 game lead in the NL Central is still in tact (notice I don't even comment on the Cardinals anymore. I'd say they're d-o-n-e), however, it is a bit troubling to know that they haven't had an extra base hit since FRIDAY. Let's hope this little mini-slump ends soon and in no way affects how they play in October. Assuming they make it to October.........
